Day 1: Kathmandu to Pakhding

Summit2Success Expedition to my.Everest Update.

Current Location: Pakhding ( Elevation: 2610 meters / 8563 feet

The day started with all of us driving to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport. Due to some pre-planned consutruction work at Trivubhan International
Airport we all decided to take an helicopter to Lukla. We all got up early Packed up ready and got into the airport by 7:30AM only to find all the out going flights were delayed due to bad weather

After a six hour wait inside the terminal and two hour wait on the tarmac the helicopter arrived, then we waited for about an hour upon boarding
the helicopter before finally taking off to Lukla. The ride was smooth and we reached Lukla around 2PM, after a quick lunch started hiking
to Pakhding.

We got early news in Lukla that so far 180 climbers have gotten permits to Summit from the South this year.

The icefalls doctors have already opened the route from Basecamp to Camp2. The talk is this time around the new route is very secure and stable.

climbers have to tackle 20 ladders on Kumbhu this year.
