Almost one year ago I wrote an article on ITInnerCircle.com. It was about “Process Centrism in IT”.

Then everyone was discussing on how to create an optimal process driven IT department. I wrote about how focusing on process is sometimes difficult and needs a certain degree of individual commitment on you and your direct reports. Why you need to coach them on the benefits and values of this new process driven approach. How to achieve this in a scientific and convincing manner etc:

Process centrism is alien to many business models – for instance, consensus business models don’t work – and they require a dedicated and effective leader who’s not afraid of stepping on toes to get things done. Once implemented, though, process centrism allows you to cut out the unimportant stuff and focus on the tasks that will get your goals done – it winds up selling itself once everyone in the organization sees what efficiencies have been created with it.
