Learn To Play, Learn To Laugh & Do Everything In-Between

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Today’s podcast episode is about reclaiming life. If you are at a point where you really don’t know what to do, like, you know, you need to do a few things about your life, but you’re not sure about them anymore. Because you did lead in life, the way you lead it. And it has come to a point where, you know, there has to be a change, that has to be something that has to be done differently, and you don’t know where to start. How do you go about it? This, in fact, is that peak performance question? This is a question that we all have on our minds. We don’t ask this question enough. And this question was from a conversation I had this weekend with this friend of mine, who is from my childhood days, he doesn’t know a lot about what I do. But he knows enough that I know, a thing or two that I do with my clients. So he was asking me, if there is a restart, how would I restart? And go about life? So that was the question.

So if you want to do something different, want to take control of your life differently. Want to get back into the game, want to get some structure, some discipline, some control? What do you need to do? And if I have to do it, how would I do it? The first and the foremost thing I would do, if I wake up in your shoes, if I wake up in my friendship is this first and the foremost days, I will get control on my sleep. I’m not talking about goals, I’m not talking about money carrier, any of that stuff, sleep, why sleep heals. Sleep is an integral part of our existence. I am notorious in saying multiple times on my radio shows that I sleep less to three hours, I can really rejuvenate myself and get back into the game of life. Some people need 5, 6, 7, 8. But it’s the quality of sleep that matters, not the quantity. So sleep is something that I would take control on right away.

I’ll sleep early, I wake up early, I sleep right, I sleep deep. I will change the external parameters, I’ll change the internal parameters, what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat, what kind of a lag time I need to have between my sleep and my last meal and asleep. I will structure all that I will invest my time on structuring it. That is where I will start first. And then once I have that in control, the second area I would focus is my temper. My anger. Listen, if you are a human, which we all are, we have anger. Anger is an innate emotion. It’s there within us. Some people don’t show it. Some people mask it. But we all are angry. It’s given. Sometimes we forget the environment. Sometimes we we could be in front of 1000s of people and we show it. Sometimes we are only with one individual. That is we with ourselves and we show it. Anger is there. But temper is something that we need to take control on. I would focus all my energy on controlling my temper, or mastering or mastery over my temper my anger, I would, that’s the second area I would focus. The third area would focus once I have these two in place. I’ve got control in my sleep, I got control on my anger temper. The third one I would focus on is worries. What is a structure my worries that are positive worries that are negative worries. They happen differently to the human body. And they draw energy differently from these from us as individuals.

So I structure my worries and I have a whole podcast episode on how to do it. If you are a subscriber to this podcast, you have been listening to my radio shows I have it here. As one of the episodes in the podcast directory. Please look into the directory and you’ll find it. I will structured worries and I will really focus on getting control on them. That’s the third step. The next one in the process. I will schedule to laugh. I will learn to laugh. I will plan to laugh. Laugh is something that we don’t do. But again, it’s an important part in constructing a good life. So no matter how depressed you are, how angry you are, how worried you are, how sleepless you are, you need to laugh.

Occasionally, as I’m recording this podcast, you might have heard me laugh here and there. I’m just laughing right now, the smiling. It’s amazing that I’m with myself. And you will only listen to this when you listen to this. But why is that when I am doing when I’m recording this podcast, I’m laughing. I’m laughing because I’m imagining you listen to this. And you may choose not to listen to this. That’s okay. But I’m imagining that hundreds of people are listening to this podcast, they’re listening to me speak, so I can afford to laugh. So even if you are alone, why don’t you laugh, I would get control on that. The next thing I would do is, I would look into my complete habit structure. And see what are some of the habits that are harmful to me that I know are harmful. And they will eventually create harm, they will eventually bring me down as an individual, publicly or privately, then I will structure some time around working on those habits that are harmful, that I have to take them out of my system. Harmful habits have to go away whatever they are.

Then after that, I will start focusing on food. What to eat, when to eat, how to eat, the quantity, the calories, the burden, all that comes next. Once I have control on that, I will start working out exercising, running, jogging, whatever. So the bottom part comes after the consumption part is figured out. And once I have control on my workouts, my exercise, the next one I’ll focus is people. The art of loving people, to big thing. This is why I came into coaching. This is why I came into doing my seminars, workshops, this podcast, whatever everything that happened to me in life, because the underlying intent there is to love people. That’s the energy. That’s the thought that is the intent. If you’re in a profession where you dislike people, but you have to work with people, you are the most miserable individual. You are cost. If you have to work with people, but you don’t like people, you have wasted this life you have ruined the blessing given to you. It’s just not the right way to lead life. So I will practice loving people. I will think about people who did harm to me, in my mind when I’m alone. And I run a gratitude sequence, a greatness sequence on them.

A love a forgiveness sequence on them in my mind, I forgive them in my thoughts in my emotions in my feelings for whatever they have done to me or some people don’t do anything to you, they do it to themselves, you happen to be in the line of fire. So it’s possible that you have shown up in the line of fire of multiple people that were not aiming the fire at you, but it did hit you. What do you do, you run a forgiveness sequence in your mind for them. And these are the people who are gone their normal life. That could be this could be your past, it’s still bothering you. Why go to expensive therapies and all that when you could do it yourself. And a good therapist does the same thing to you anyway, takes out. Run say forgiveness sequence, run safe forgetting sequence, or a script or an algorithm in your mind. And in that way you start loving people or you start loving those who you hate. That’s how it works. And once I get control on that the last thing I will do is I will learn to play the play is anything that you’re doing you play so this podcast for example, initially when we started was a was a learning and there are there will be lessons along the way anyway, every day I wake up I’m learning something new about about everything. But then the interesting part is this now becomes a play. This is not work anymore.

Initially it was work. It’s no more work. This happens naturally have makeup I do this this. This is amazing. Like Like I don’t feel that I have a responsibility to her podcast anymore. It was that way for a long time. It was hard to record every day. Now I’m like, This is awesome. This is amazing. Now I’m playing this, you see, so take whatever you have got going, and turn that into a play. Amazing what happens with it? Okay? Those are the things I would do to reclaim life, if I’m starting late. And you’re 40, about 50, about 60, a bow and you’re trying to take control of your environment of your habits of your food of your diet of your exercise of your temper, if your anger, this is the sequence, guess what this sequence is not mine. I studied the sequence. I used it on myself. All these are in my existence, all this I can look at exactly. You know these things and say, Yeah, you know, yeah, I my exercise is going down right now, as I’m speaking because post COVID, I have not done anything as much. I know exactly where I’m falling apart. I know exactly what I’m getting worried about. I know exactly where I’m laughing or not. Whether I’m sleeping well or not. I know these 10 things I watch. And I constantly work, everything that I do is to get control on this. It’s not like once you have it, you’ll have it. Self improvement is not like permanent improvement. Self improvement is improvement. Improvement means it’s going to be losing its improvement. If you don’t work at it. It’s so we continue to work at it. It’s it today the podcast is a play to moderate may not be a play to modify if I’m not serious about it. I’m not working at it. Then guess what I was yesterday I was referring to this, which is all gifts, given to us at birth can be destroyed by single curse. So I can take this clay and turn it into a curse if I don’t work at it. It’s as simple as that.

Okay, I’ll stop yet it’s gone too far. Hopefully today’s podcast episode is helpful. That’s my catch word catchphrase. As simple as that. I wish it was that simple. Okay, finding an excuse to laugh right there. You see that? Okay, it comes out naturally. That’s all stop here. We say wherever you are. We’ll talk tomorrow. Bye now.

We all Possess The Assets To Be Successful

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

I have been very loud, across all my seminars, workshops on my radio shows, including this podcast on how books shaped my life. Books gave me the foundation books gave me the structure to do what, whatever little bit I do. And I’m a big fan of books, collected a lot of books. I saw this in my dad, my father collect a lot of books and I read a few I could have. I should have read all the books that I ever collected. But I read a few, a lot I could not read. I think I wasted my life by not reading. And a majority part of my life is now gone. And whatever little bit is there, I’m trying to catch up all these years, along these years. And in fact, in one of the earlier podcast episodes, I talked about this on how I used to read books, and take notes on loose papers, and lose them.

So today, as I’m recording this podcast, I happen to find a paper on which I took some notes. With the paper, I took some notes, I get excited when I find these papers, because most of the papers already scanned, and put them in the cloud. And I try to keep my environment very empty and very light. But then when I run into a paper in in one of the boxes, or as I’m cleaning, and all that, I get excited, oh, you know, it reminds me of the time when I read a book, it reminds me of my past. And obviously, I get the high this paper that I have in my hand. Now, I took several notes on this and I want to read those notes because every line is profound. And all these lines that come from books, I have not written anything. I don’t know if it came from one book or multiple books. But they’re profound. There are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 8 points I wrote down on this paper. And I want to walk you through these eight lines right before the recording of this podcast, I was just going through this and I was got excited.

Okay, the first one here, all gifts given to you at birth, can be destroyed by single curse. Number two, you may have all the gifts, but you can fail utterly. Why is that? Because we don’t take ourselves seriously. That’s why. Number three, you cannot make the genius but you can certainly improve or destroy it. Number four, we all possess the assets to be successful. Number five, success is partly predestination, and partly free will. The next one, a great opportunity may be lost and an irreversible error or mistake may be committed by a brief break in the lucidity of the intellect or in the train of thought. Next one, he who would be sees anywhere, must know everything everywhere. This is Rudyard Kipling who said that. And the last one, everything comes to a man who is always all there.

As I’m reading, as I’m reading this, I can see my entire life graph playing in front of my eyes. And things that I did not do some shortcuts I took some things that I overlooked eventually came back to bite me. I gave this example in one of my podcasts many years ago, autumnal radio shows and I’m going to say that one more time here today. As a sixth grader, I used to have trouble in doing a specific kind of math. And that is back in the day. In my sixth grade math, there used to be a concept of a train crossing the pole. Like one train crosses a pole at the speed, another train crosses another, the same pole at this speed and who reaches the destination or whatever. Something like that train crossing a pole is a kind of a math. And I used to avoid it all the time. I never could grasp what that math was all about and I never addressed it. And the doubt stayed in me for the rest of my life literally till I wrote the GMAT. And a similar question came in and I couldn’t answer.

You see, whatever situation you are in our situations are unique to us. But the rules of success are the same. A gift is a gift. When a gift is not worked upon, then the gift could be lost. Uniquely, we all have whatever it takes to succeed, it’s just that we need to bring that mindset of success into us. And that opportunities do come in. And some people are really leveraging the opportunities, but they have to be careful because one mistake, one error in judgment can take away 20, 30 years of hard work. If you are something here and something there, Rudyard Kipling is talking about this, you can’t say, I do what I do under these conditions. And if conditions change, and you give me a new set of conditions. I cannot perform that you cannot say that if you have it in you, you have it. If you don’t have it, you don’t have it.

And finally, this is the last one, which is I see people who go around and they say they’re doing things but they’re not getting results. The truth of the matter is when you are attempting something, are you emotionally physically, mentally, spiritually there. I can tell you this as I’m recording this podcast, I’m in it. I’m in it. I’m not recording this podcast for the sake of recording. It is hard I do this every day. It is hard. But every time I attempt doing this I am emotionally intellectually, soulfully, willfully here, willfully here, soulfully here. If not, this is a complete disconnect. This is going to fall apart. So things that you’re doing today. Are you all there? It’s a question you have to ask. I wanted to rewind and listen to this podcast at least one more time. Do it for me, like listen to this second time. I know it’s very difficult even listen for the first time. So listen to this second time if you are with me up till now. Don’t know where I got all this, but I’m thankful to all the books. I’m thankful to these books. You know books are a blessing from God. They come to your life somehow. It’s like you meeting people. You know, in one of the podcasts I talked about this, I said everything that you have around you is speaking to you. But everything doesn’t have life. Books. They have life. They want to talk to you. Go talk to them. Thank you

The Quality Of Your Resume Can Make All The Difference

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Today’s podcast episode is for you, if you are a career minded individual, by career minded individual, what I mean is, you are unhappy in the job that you are in, and you want to change the job, you are unhappy with the career that you’re in, you want to try something new and excel in the new line. Whatever may be the situation, today’s podcast episode is for you.

The core idea behind today’s podcast episode is from an interaction that I recently had with one of the listeners of my radio show, who emailed me a while ago. And I asked him a question about a job change situation he was going through, I went back and forth with him on email. And his point was his resume is the only issue. His experience, his credentials, all good. He somehow has an issue with his resume. And I got on a call with him. When I realized that I was not able to address the issue that was going on, we are going back and forth on this. I got on a call and explained to him that his resume is not the issue as much as he thinks it is. But towards the end of our call, towards the end of the conversation, he was trying to hire me to write his resume. I said, I don’t write resumes. I don’t call myself a career coach, even though I have done multiple seminars, workshops specific to designing a breakthrough career, which was a seminar I used to do many years ago. But I don’t look at myself as a career coach, that’s not the tag I carry on me. And I think you should hire a professional resume writer to write the resume. But during that conversation, I gave some pointers to him, which I want to share with you today on this podcast. So stay with me.

The first and the foremost thing, there are two parts to this, two parts to this discussion, which is how do your employer or anybody who’s hiring reads your resume? How do they read the resume? And how do you write your resume to parts? For example, how do I do this podcast? And how do you listen to this podcast? How do I write my blog posts? How do you read the blog posts, there is a formula for flighting, and there is a formula for making them listen the way they want you to be listened to. So there is a way that I’m expecting you to listen to me on this podcast, there is a formula I’m using. I’m gonna explain the formula just in a second here. So this is interesting where this is going. So first and foremost, the biggest mistake people make in their resumes is they want to convey brilliance, 95% of all resumes is brilliance. What people are expecting from you, what your prospective employers are expecting from you, or whoever is reading your resume to hire you, the hiring managers they are expecting from you is of course brilliance. But then a majority, what they’re expecting these common sense. By common sense, what I mean is to have the skills, the hub experience, and do you have the knowledge. Those three things, they are trying to see that you are presenting that in whatever you’re presenting in LinkedIn profile or your resume, okay, what it does, skills, experience and knowledge.

What these three things, what they do is, they established position possibility. You are possible for the position. That’s the first thing they are doing. Then they are trying to see if you have a willingness and capability to do the job. The second thing, the third thing they’re doing or they’re trying to read is do you have interpersonal skills. Finally, the last one is, they trying to see if you have energy and initiative. These are the four things in the resume they’re seeking. Once they go beyond step number one within which they have established position possibility, they are looking for the willingness capability, interpersonal skills and an agenda initiative. In your resume, you somehow have to take words, phrases, language patterns, and create a resume that specifically expresses these four things. That’s all there is to this. These four things instead what people do is they viewed complex words. Let this you know, transformed this initiated this, try and put this all these, you know these words, they take you away from common sense. If you’re reading a resume, you need to feel good, you know somebody is reading your resume, they need to feel good.

You see, if you are listening to this podcast, and you have heard other episodes that I’ve done one point I have consistently, kind of mentioned multiple times across all my podcast episodes, or most of the podcast episodes, which is, people are driven by the depth of your conviction, rather than the height of your knowledge. If you show your success, you make people sick. You show the real you who has gone through challenges, faced obstacles, and created success, that means you’re empowering the reader or the listener. There is a way to convey this now. This is what they’re trying to read. Let’s get into what you should do.

First and foremost, is you need to secure their interest. Whoever is reading your resume, you got to secure their interest. That’s where it starts. The second is you create curiosity. So let me give you an example. Did I secure your interest when I said, if you are a career minded individual, today’s podcast episode is for you. I secured interest. Okay. And then I said, I spoke to someone, and I told them what to do. I had a conversation with an individual who called me who emailed me, I created curiosity. Then this whole discussion about how the employer reads your resume, how do you present your resume is all building desire, some building desire in you right now. And then I do all these things with enthusiasm. I’m conveying enthusiasm. So if you are writing a resume, these four things now, how they read, I told you, what you have to do is secure interest, create curiosity, build desire, and convey enthusiasm. You do that not necessarily in the resume. But the way you present your resume. One of the elements, most people do not do or do not focus on doing, which is all these four things can be conveyed in a good cover letter, they don’t write cover letters.

Now, listen, this is a topic this carrier jobs searching, applying getting responses. This is me who is doing this, who not necessarily wrote a resume, in a level where I go and look for a job, I have not done it, I have done it in bits and pieces. If I’m looking for a consulting opportunity, or maybe a client said, send me a resume. All this is coming from a guy who never did these things. So you should take whatever I’m telling you on its face value. So if you don’t want to attribute any authority to me, I understand that. But I tell you, I have consulted and coach numerous people through this problem. So I know exactly what I’m talking about. Cover letter key, Silicon Valley where I am, most of suffering university, they don’t even care for cover letters. And that’s a big difference, it is a difference, it makes a huge difference. Now, I told you how they read your resume, I told you how you present a resume. Now presenting resume starts with a good cover letter, of course, good language in the resume and all that. But here is where this goes in different directions. Listen, they just are not looking at your LinkedIn profile. They are looking at you in through multiple different dimensions. They are looking at you from your Facebook profile. They’re looking at you from other social media accounts that you have Twitter things, all those, even though they’re micro thinks but they do all add up to this gigantic, you know build up of who you are. So it’s possible that by the time you are giving your real resume, you have been presented by everything that you have done on all these platforms.

So be careful how you comment how you express yourself what you say what you not say. All this. So just to tell you this I on a daily podcast. If you go to my website srinisaripalli.com, you will see all the episodes there. Anybody who Google’s the name gets all the details about me. If I present a resume to someone, don’t you think they have everything about me? They know exactly what my emotional quotient is and how I talk how I present what I say what I not say how do I contradict myself? they probably can listen to five episodes from across four different years on this podcast, and they can see that I have contradicted myself multiple times in this podcast episodes. Possible, right? It’s possible because I’m a quantum machine producing this stuff. I will contradict myself, of course, because I’m going to I’m so you come back and ask him the same question a year from now you will have a different answer. It’s not about simply writing a resume, you got to present your resume. So when he called me and said, I’m gonna hire you to write my resume, I said, it’s about presenting your resume. It’s not about hiring. And this is exactly what I conveyed to him.

And I said, You got to secure interest, create curiosity, build desire, and then convey enthusiasm in all different platforms, including your cover letter, including your resume. And that’s when you have you stand a chance to succeed. Now, I’m not saying if you do all these things, you’ll get a job. That’s not the point of this podcast. That’s not. That’s not what I meant when I spoke to this gentleman, but this is what I know. This is these are, you know, there are some fundamentals and those fundamentals have to be addressed.

That’s all for now, from this podcast, I don’t want to extend this. I have some few thoughts, some few more ideas. That’s all for now. I’m going to stop here. I’ll be back here again tomorrow, and we’ll continue our conversation. I’m thankful for you being a subscriber thankful that you’re listening to the podcasts.
