How To Protect Your Intrinsic Value
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
On the podcast, today, we are talking about value, specifically, individual value. Now, multiple times I talked about this, there are many podcast episodes, and I took different angles on this concept of value. But then today, I’m taking an angle on self-esteem, and confidence. That’s the frame through which I’m looking at value. And the reason why I’m doing that is that being part of some conversations, people are questioning themselves, they’re not able to bring themselves together to accomplish projects. 2023 is coming. So there is a pressure to do things start the year, beginning of the year, they want to do things. So make sense. And even though in the last few days, I’ve been talking about goal setting, planning, and all that, no planning, no goal setting is possible. If self-esteem in itself is compromised, so makes sense to talk about it now.
Now, if you look at value, if you look at yourself, you are a body of a lot of things, you have many memories, many experiences, many skills, many talents, some explored some unexplored, some known some unknown, some solid, some fluid, so the composition is pretty solid. In the stock market, investments, and Bitcoin and all like you look at the financial markets, that trading markets and all that, you know, there are graphs through which you represent the health of an investment. Likewise, our confidence also is a graph. At any point in time, anybody could be extremely confident, even though there is no basis for confidence. And sometimes despite of having everything, we may not have confidence. So it’s a graph. And every day, either it’s up or it’s down, or it’s flat, but it’s moving, it’s changing every day, you can’t go back, you know, five days from today behind, and find the graph to be the same as today it’s moving, there’s always some movement if you look at value, and if you look at yourself, there are two ways you can define yourself. One is your extrinsic value. And the second one is your intrinsic value. So the extrinsic value is what you want from others. So you’re impacting others, you’re influencing others, you’re doing things for others, so you’re adding value to them. And the intrinsic value is you to you how you see yourself.
The irony of life is that sometimes, there’s a lot going on in people’s lives. And sometimes people end up looking or assessing or questioning their own intrinsic value because they feel that they are not valuable to others. And this is coming most of the time this comes from people telling them that they are of no value to others. So somebody comes up to you, and says, whatever you’re doing, whoever you are, you add no value to others. And what happens to your mindset, what happens to you at that moment, you feel that you are valueless. Now you take that seriously, that means what you’re doing is you’re questioning your own intrinsic value when you start believing their opinion or their judgment of you. So the majority of the time people lose the understanding of their own value because other people are making judgments, they’re passing judgments, they’re passing opinions. See your value is independent of what others think of you. Very simple. If you believe in that your life is going to become amazing. You will live a happy life you will live a fulfilled life. But if you start giving room to other people’s opinions of you, then they will step on your understanding of yourself. And sometimes, you know in one of the earlier podcasts I talked about this, sometimes our loved ones do this to us. People like parents sometimes do this unknowingly they do. The Lovers care for us and they’ve raised us but along the way, sometimes they do get carried away by other people’s opinions about who their children are. And they end up passing other people’s opinions on to them. compromising the self-esteem of the children happened to me personally actually growing up. I’ve seen this happen to other people too. So I got to be very careful with this now, how do you safeguard your value? I’m not talking about increasing value, but how do you safeguard your value? Let’s talk about the few things that you have to do. And one of the things I have done personally is inbuilt all these things into my own affirmations, I wake up in the morning, and I go through them so that I cannot I don’t have any room, in my mind for anybody else to question my value. Or anybody stepping in and breaking those barriers, entering into my space, and then creating doubt within me. And then I start questioning my intrinsic value, I do not. So how do you make sure that your value is intact?
Now, first and foremost is that you got to understand that you are unique. And there are many facets to your existence here. You are unique, you are different, you are only one, and nobody else can be made like you. That’s step one, that’s the first one. The second one in this is that as an individual, you are constantly changing. And change is happening. Whether you see it or you do not see it. It’s happening. And because you’re constantly changing, it’s very difficult to assess yourself are you can’t assess your own self. When you can’t assess your own self, how can somebody outside or can assess you? So you cannot trait you can’t measure yourself. And here you are allowing others to rate and measure you when you are constantly changing. There is one other understanding here also, which is humans, by default are imperfect. And by the way, for every line here I have done an individual podcast episode on each one of these lines, uniqueness, complexity changing, cost change, and constant change, I did one podcast on that measuring rating, and I did one podcast episode on that. And imperfections I talked about in one of the podcast episodes, I’ve done multiple podcast episodes on this. The biggest of all is that you are constantly developing. Forget about change changes happening, but you’re constantly developing, you’re reading you’re listening to this podcast or other podcasts, and you are a student of life. So you’re constantly developing. Now, if you are developing that means you are incomplete. Guess what, you are going to stay incomplete for the rest of your life. If that is true, then how can somebody assess your value? How can somebody rate you? Right? So we are complex. Humans are complex, we are unique. We are complex, we are changing, we are developing, and it’s very hard for somebody to rate us very hard somebody to measure us very hard.
So these are the affirmations I carry in my mind when I do this, I preserve my intrinsic self. And I don’t care about the extrinsic self because the extrinsic side of me is constantly helping constantly doing costly thinking of bringing value. So that part is intact. That part is always going to be there. Okay, I’m going to stop here. Hopefully, this is helpful. Hopefully, this helps. If it is let me know. And again, if you have a question, then by all means you can text me at 888-818-0404 Text me on that number. And I’ll be more than happy to take your question and answer that on the podcast. Do that quickly because this year is coming to an end. And tomorrow is going to be December 1 And I’m going to complete 11 months daily of daily podcasting here tomorrow the last month, beginning of the last month of the year.
So I’m excited for tomorrow, as much as I’m excited for next year also. So that’s all for now. Wherever you are, be safe and keep listening.
The Only Path Is Growth: So Learn, Experience, Sacrifice & Grow
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Is it possible that you live your life for 3040 or 50 years, in your own way, with your own convictions with your own beliefs, and none of these convictions or beliefs are in your favor? That means they are driven by self-sabotage, they are driven by inflicting pain upon themselves and on other people, knowingly or unknowingly. And at one point, you wake up from this thing, and you decide to change your life. Now, is it possible that you can be rescued from 40 or 50 years of wrongdoing? In one phone conversation? That’s the question I’m going to be answering today on this podcast. And this question is something that people are asking me, I get to talk to people, but I have not been talking a lot lately, in the last year, year and a half. I’ve not been doing personal consultations, I’ve not been doing any coaching programs or live events, seminars, COVID kind of shut everything down.
So I’ve not come back, and I’ve not done anything big. But every time I talk to anyone, in a consultation in a consultation setup. This is the ask. The ask is, can you please undo everything that I’ve done, so that I can live a good life? A great life? I’ve heard you talk about changing lives in a matter of minutes in a matter of seconds, can you please help? My answer is you can change anything in a moment, just like that you can change. The problem is any change that can be done like that. It’s not sustaining, you can’t sustain, you need to have a strategy to sustain a change. See, we all change on a daily basis, we all change, there are positive changes happening to the most negative of the negative circumstances. So let’s say your life is completely beaten up, you’re in deep depression, and everything is falling apart around you inside of you. But you’re still changing, there is a moment of positivity in you. That might be a thought or two in the entire day, where you thought of changing your life, your thought of changing your and people who do show up on these consultations are the people who somehow hung on to that thought and decided to make that call decided to go to the website schedule that consultation now because that thought has persisted enough to show up on a call, I believe it’s doable. But you need a strategy to really push it and keep it and sustain it for a long amount of time before real change can be released. See changes easier to make. But to enjoy the change and relish the change takes time. I go back to my 20s mid 20s New in America. And I was wanting to accelerate my success. I had no time. For reasons that only I know. I wanted to make that money, not for myself. But I wanted to support my family back home and typical immigrant mindset. And I was like, I need to somehow make money. So I started looking.
There are many stories along the way. But then the overarching story is that I decided to start a business. And the very first business I start, we ended up nearly making a million dollars in revenue almost close if not exactly. But here I am doing something with no ability, literally no ability. I have some I had some tech ability, but I had no business ability. I had no sales skills. I had no leadership skills. I had no communication skills, no skills that are necessary to make a business work. And it was clear for anyone who had any understanding of business and who was looking at me from the outside world conclude this guy was going to collapse. There is no substance to this. And somewhere along the way, I knew there was no substance to this. I knew I was on the wrong track. I knew. But then that business, which is a tech business, by the way, collapsed in nine months. So, I was accelerating success without accelerating growth.
So it’s interesting, I’m here on this podcast, and I talk about growth and growth. And I’ve done numerous podcast episodes. And I said, You cannot unless you don’t expand what you are, you will always have what you got a lesson that I learned the hard way. So, by the time when this business collapsed, it collapsed when I was 29 years old, I already had 29 years of programming, which is incorrect, incorrect programming was not raised to start a business one was not raised to, to even come to America or do anything here, or understand business or sales or communication or any of the stuff, none. If I study the code programming that was given to me by my parents, and by the situations through which I grew up, none of that had any element of business in it, none of that had any element of entrepreneurship in it, none. All I did was something that I saw, others do. And I started to do it because I thought I’m in the environment. So if I’m in the water, I see everybody swimming. So I can also swim. But I was not trained to swim, I was not told about the dynamics, the physics, the chemistry of whatever the mechanics of swimming, none. I thought I was seeing others do. So. I was trying to see, when you try to do something, you fail. But there is something good about failure because this failure teaches us and gives us lessons and I was a good learner. I was a good learner.
So I took all these failures from my, that I received through this time, and I started to build myself up to something big, something meaningful. It didn’t happen right away, it took time, still, it took time, involved reading a lot, that is where I really went back to reading books, and really surrendering myself, I wanted to accumulate, see, I figured this out, if I want to accelerate, I have to accumulate. And if I have to accumulate, then I need to act, really act or take action. And I cannot take any action. I cannot accumulate, and I cannot accelerate until I change my thinking. So I have to change the way I think I’m gonna change the way I think I will act better, I will accumulate battle, I will accelerate better. And then, overall, when I put all these things together, I’ll be advancing myself. Very clear. There was no need for a coach to tell me this. There was no need for any level of intervention for me to understand this. So clearly. So today, when I meet people, and they tell me I have 40 years of wrongdoing, can you please undo me because I’m talking to your coach, you should know how to change me in 40 minutes, like one consultation, one call. I’m like, Yeah, you got to do this. See, instead of accelerating success, you got accelerated growth. So all you do is take the time that you have whatever amount of time you’re putting into accelerating your success. Put that into accelerating your growth. And there are numerous podcast episodes I’ve done here talking about how to accelerate growth, see, growth can be accelerated. But success cannot be. Now there’s one other lesson I want to share here with you also from those days. said there were some gifts. Clearly, there was some gift. If I knew that I can do it, that gift kind of gave me the courage that I can do it. But I did not know that I had to stay such a long time to really relish the gift I don’t think I have yet but I’m just telling you that for me to feel confident that yes, I can start a business. I can do a business, I can grow a business, and I can accumulate all the skills for me for that to happen. I need time. But then the time was just not like okay if you just give time things will happen. It doesn’t work that way.
See, if I tell you that you can work in your job for 30 years and you will be liberated. Yes, if you work for 30 long years without a break. Yes, anybody will be liberated. But there are going to be broken, you will be challenged, you will be thrown out of the job, you will be terminated, you will be laid off, and you’ll have other things come into your life, which will threaten your job. And sometimes your performance will be the reason why you cannot accelerate anything. So there will be setbacks along the way. And we know that a career, that’s why we call it a career because it will have its own ups and downs, and all that we know that. But any day, if I have to choose between the gifts that I think I have, by the way, all of us have gifts, and I have to choose the staying power. Stay enough so that you can accumulate, you know, learning takes its time mistakes, they take their time failures take its time, growth takes its time. So if I have to choose staying power versus gifts, I will choose staying power. As I talked to people, and they tell me that I want to somehow get to the outcome, I understand. Nobody wants to go through suffering, nobody wants to stay in the pain for a long time I get it. And everything I do or anybody else does within the space that I’m in, is to remove the suffering to remove that pain, and triage that as soon as possible. So that all of us can, can land on that can have that happy landing in a place where we are free from all this takes time.
That’s the point. It takes effort and takes a mindset. Now, this mindset, I want to give you some clues on this, the mindset is to expand yourself. Not to expense yourself is to expand yourself, that you constantly keep on seeking growth at every state and every stage of life, that you keep thinking that tomorrow is going to bring in possibilities that you believe life is going to get better incrementally, as you keep on doing what you’re doing. That you keep on questioning your value. And you keep on questioning it because you want to increase it through daily actions and daily deeds. That you will set an example for yourself, when you take two snapshots a snapshot now, versus a snapshot when you started that was maybe five or six years ago, and compare these two snapshots, you know that you’ve come a long way, in an incredible manner. And that everything that you are going to be doing from this point on or everything that you plan on accomplishing is not to really accomplish anything that has a figurative value to it or a figure or a number or any of that. But the only achievement is that you are becoming the individual that you want to become through this process. So your individual in the process, your personal process, in which you are learning in which you’re experiencing, in which you are giving in which you’re sacrificing in which you are sustaining some pain and suffering only to become stronger and better. Can we just stop here? I hope this is helpful. I hope you see I’m saying I’m sharing this on the podcast because I want you to convincingly lead yourself into the next year as you are setting goals for yourself. We talked about some planning the plan stuff yesterday. And I want to I want you to become stronger as you step into your 2023 That’s my intent. That’s my goal. Is it possible to undo 40 years of wrong programming? Wrong approach wrong strategy in 14 minutes? Yes. Can you sustain it for a long amount of time? No, it needs conditioning. If you work on keeping the change for 60, 90, and 120 days continuously, then yes, there has to be a strategy that has to work on you for a considerable amount of time for this change to sustain and create a new reality. Helpful.
Okay, that’s all for now. You stay tuned, and I’ll be with you as a list tomorrow. Thank you.
Plan The Plan 2023: 4-Steps To Ensure Your Success
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Happy Monday morning to you welcome back or welcome to Success with Srini. start of a new week. So as we’re coming to the end of this month, the month of November, and just a couple of more days left in this month, and soon, we are going to be in the last month of this year. Now this month, November is not going to come back anymore, December is going to be the last month. And this year 2022 is not going to come back into our life anymore. So we say goodbye to this year. And we step into the new year. And this is the time when things, at least in my mind, they’re starting to boil up. And I’m thinking about what my 2023 should look like. And I’ve been debating this a lot. And if you are a regular listener of this podcast, you can go back to September, and October, I was kind of warming myself up and talking about things that I need to do. And I was innovative in telling everybody, all the listeners of this podcast to start taking this year, the remainder of this year very actively.
So I get a little anxious as you’re stepping into December 30. Or days left in this year, and I need to really get my hands on all the loose ends of everything I started this year. I know how this year went for me. And I know that you know how this year has gone for you. Now I talk like this on this podcast. Because I think and I in a way, like conclude in my mind that every listener who listens to this is a success-minded individual. If you are not then there is no value in there is not much you can derive from this podcast, honestly. So you are here you’re listening, it means that you care about your personal growth, your professional growth, and growth in general, you take yourself seriously, you make yourself accountable. And you know you could do more. And that is why you’re here. So one of the things that I’m thinking, and in a way also I’m doing now because this has been on my mind for a long time. And I’m almost started looking at this to plan my 2023 and I talked about this also multiple times. But then just planning 2023 is not going to work. And that is why I came up with the title of today’s podcast plan the plan 2023. So there is something that has to happen before you put any plan for next year. That’s the point. There are four specific things that I want to share with you that I am doing right now. I spent the last couple of months extensively and in fact, right now, as I’m recording today’s podcast last night, also I was going through this I wanted to really get a complete total understanding of where I stand right now. I want to know my circumstances, I want to know, my resources. I want to know if my capabilities have diminished, have enhanced. Did I really gain stuff? Did I lose stuff? No. Where do I stand precisely as I’m entering next year?
Now, this is a long exercise there is there has to be some time dedicated to it. I don’t think I have done enough on my mind. But I’m telling you right now, if there is nothing else you are doing between now from today which is November 28, 2022. between today and December 31 of 2022, You have nothing planned for yourself, you’re taking it easy, you’re taking it lightly, then I want you to think and ask only this one question, which is where am I right now? This question has to be answered. And there has to be a deep congruent internal agreement between you and your higher self on where you stand with things that are happening with you and that is around you. It’s very important to get a proper read of everything. Once you do this, I think I’ve done it, I’m telling you, I’ve done this multiple times over the years, but this year is different every year is different every year is different. Now once you get this in place, the next thing and tell you why you should do this. The reasoning behind this is it is not to do more. The idea is not to do more. The idea is not to become a Superman next year or a superwoman It doesn’t work that way. If you are, and you are, who you are. And you are a true listener of success. I’m not saying you’re a practitioner of success, you’re a listener of success, then you should know by this time that this is more about letting go than letting in. So the reason why I need to know where I stand is that I want to do something which has to let go. So I need to drop a few things. The idea is to eliminate, drop, who should I drop, drop a few belongings, drop a few people drop some elements of work, or maybe a few areas of work completely. And most importantly, I have to drop some thoughts.
Let’s say the difficult one, is to drop thoughts. And there are many more to this, but you get the idea, I want to eliminate I want to drop, why. Because when I do that, I know that I can get to my outcomes. See, you could not get to the outcomes this year. Because for all these reasons, you underestimated your work, or you overestimated your time, or you were interrupted by people, or you did not have the right thought patterns to get things done. That’s it. So I need to get to the outcome. So I got to drop the once I do this, I’m not saying that you need to read really, really drop everything off, you will come to a point where you realize, Wow, I dropped everything now No, there is never going to be a situation where you can empty the plate completely. See, this is a process this is life. As you empty, you keep filling, who knows what you’re filling? But the idea is to fill, fill it up with the right stuff, but it doesn’t work that way. So we end up filling a lot of lot different ways. And sometimes with the wrong things also. But this is a process of evolution. And we evolve to this. So the third step in this process is once at least achieved some success by dropping some thoughts, some people some work. Now, I shouldn’t be feeling Yeah, you know, I’m in a good position to get to the outcome. Now, let me work on getting to the outcome.
Now, before you jump on setting goals and getting and getting going on working towards your outcomes. There is a step there, which I did not know, for a long time. And I’m sharing this for the very first time on this podcast. Which is, is go to a place within inside that is divine, secluded, divine. Only you can access that, that place, or that space. You go there through meditation you go there through different means some people go silent, they go there, some people close their eyes, and they go there. Some people block off everything. They run away from the noise into the mountains or into the wilderness and they go there. I don’t know how you get there. Because if you asked me that question, I can suggest you a million things. But you need to go there. You don’t need to leave the house or you don’t need to leave the people, your loved ones to mentally go there. You can seclude yourself and just find enough time, maybe an hour or two or a half a day or a day where you sit down and go and work towards going there. Now, how do you know you got there? This is a question that I struggled with for a long time. I know I got there when I can turn my thoughts into choices. Do you see that? If you’re unable, to turn your thoughts into choices, that means you are not in a divine place yet. So my thoughts have to turn into choices. And I should be able to do that like God like that. In a fraction of a second. the thought crosses your mind. I make a choice I move now Once I’m done, the fourth step to this is to turn those choices into goals. This is where the real plan comes in.
Now, up till this point until this point, it’s all about planning the plan. This is where the goals come in. This is where planners come in, this is where you can take these goals and now turn them into actionable. You know, activities, like, on Monday, from morning seven to 715, I’m going to do this. And all the things I’ll be doing within those 15 minutes, they’re going to be helping me get to accomplish this goal. That comes later. But the key part in this is step number one, which is to really take stock of everything about you. And then dropping a few ideas to eliminate, you’re taking the list of inventory to drop things. Because dropping will enable you to get your time so that you can act with whatever energy you have, we are not talking about, you know, adding more energy adding more time because there are finite resources, you don’t have time you don’t have energy cannot be seen if you’re in your 40s 50s 60s you cannot go back and act like you’re in your 20s doesn’t work. Yes, you can. outsmart a 20-year-old on a given day, but that sick you cannot live a 20-year-old life you cannot. So we eliminate and then we find a divine place within our heart within our mind so we can turn the thoughts into choices and then turn those choices into goals.
Hopefully, this is helpful. And I’m gonna stop here hopefully this helps if it is let me know. And seriously put this into play. And do let me know. Very warm. That’s all for now. And before you know it, I’ll be with you as early as tomorrow. Keep listening.
