Death & Life Are Power Of Tongue

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Welcome to Success with Srini. Today, the January 31st 2022, which is a Monday here, Monday morning for me as I’m recording. Happy Monday morning to you, wherever you are. Today on the podcast, I am answering a question that has come in from a listener of this podcast who recently started listening to the podcast. And the question is, “I started listening to you recently, and I heard the last few episodes. And you talked about how our words, our thoughts, create our destiny. And you were mentioning about negative people. And I have a lot of negativity around me. And a lot of people talk negative to me. How do you suggest I deal with this?” Something like that. I’m looking at the printout and I’m reading the question. So that’s the gist of the question.

First of all, appreciate you listening to the podcast. Thank you for the question. So here is what I have seen personally working with people. There are two reasons why people talk negative. And this is my observation. At the same time, this is what I have studied in the books that have been written by some incredible therapists, philosophers, people who change the world. These are in the scriptures, these are in the books.

The first reason why people talk negative is because they lack self control. And the second reason is because some things in their life some experiences in their life, some programming has happened, that has led them to talk like this, usually childhood programming. And later on some experiences due to that programming along the way, some bad experiences, all that led to this kind of a talk.

Words are power.

You see, words are power. So when somebody is talking negative, that seeking power, in general words, create actions and actions develop awareness. So when you’re using negative words, usually they’re creating negative actions, and it’s creating negative awareness within them, within themselves. And obviously, when you have a negative awareness within you, your environment reflects that negative awareness. So people around in that environment around them are also suffering. So you’re asking this question, because you’re suffering through this process.

You got to control your response.

I’ll tell you how to deal with the situation. I think that’s where this question is going. The first and foremost thing is you got to control your response, you got to learn how to control your response. Initially, it starts with you putting up a lot of resistance, putting up some fights, putting up trying to come back with bigger force to deal with this negative talk. So you will end up talking a lot of negative stuff anyway. But then at some point, you have to understand that this is less about you and more about them. So you control your response. That’s the start. Mostly, your response shouldn’t be in line with their emotions, your response should be in line with your own logic. So you’ve got to develop your own awareness while this is happening around you. That’s the first way to deal with the situation.

Show compassion.

Second thing is you show compassion, people are broken, when they are talking negative, something is deeply distorted, deeply cracked inside. So let them heal. And the only way you can let them heal is when you show compassion. Now, there is no amount of compassion, that’s enough, by the way, that could be situation where you are giving everything that you have. And accommodating everything that they’re doing to you may not be enough, but still understand that it’s still better. Because you love them, you care for them and whatever that relationship is.

Act instead of react.

The third thing I would suggest to you got to act instead of react. Act means you are expecting that something is going to be coming at you. It’s not a good position to be living in where you’re constantly waking up every day and expecting that there’ll be negative talk, but you prepare yourself. So that is act that is the act. And then if the stock is happening in your core relationships, that is your reality. That is how it’s going to be because these people take a long time to heal, who knows they may not heal either. So if you don’t get therapy don’t get support for them. Usually they don’t they don’t want to be in a therapy situation because usually they don’t have the problem. Because the environment that has the problem, others have the problem. So they don’t want to be treated or they don’t want to be seen as if they have an issue that needs to be fixed. So there is going to be resistance.

“Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is for you.”

This is the reality with which you have to live. You have to build you, your awareness to a level where this reality doesn’t really take up a lot of space in your world. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is for you.”
And finally, one last closing comment as I wrap this up that and like, I have no idea who said this, that I have this in my mind, because this is what I’ve studied over a long period of time. One huge mistake I make when I’m speaking, I try to remember who said what I always keep the author names, the people who quoted something in my mind I, I make extra effort to code them give credit to them as much as I can. And sometimes I forget who said what I say, I don’t remember who said this. But every time I use a qoute in any of my seminars, workshops deep within me, I’m expressing heartfelt gratitude to these people, whoever wrote this, whoever said this deeply, it’s kind of a prayer. That’s the kind of relationship I have within me, for these people who express these things. Because from that, I’m learning. I don’t know who said this, but “death and life are the power of the tongue and those who live it will eat its fruits.”

That’s all for now. Let me know if I answered your question or not, write me a comment. If like this podcast or this episode, rate the podcast, share it with your friends and family. And if you have a question, you can definitely email me. But the best way to ask the question is to call my line 888-818-0404. Leave me a message. I will take your question in your voice. I’m going to use that as a voice drop in an upcoming episode, and I’m going to answer your question. That’s all for now. Start your Monday with some action words. Build awareness as quickly as you can, so that your talk attracts and manifests rather than confines and contradicts you.

Thank you.

Always Finish That Which You Start

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

January 30th 2022, it’s 6:30am as I’m recording this, it says Sunday morning here in California. Happy Sunday morning to you. Welcome or welcome back to Success with Srini. I woke up at 4;30 this morning with an intention to get this podcast recorded early. This is one of my first acts of the day almost. If not the first act, but it is one of the first acts.

4:30 In the morning, I wake up, and I’m done with my first act of the day, which is to put myself in a meditative state, which I did. And then something happened, something happened. I made a colossal mistake of checking my phone. One mistake, and the next thing I see, and the only thing I see on the phone, in fact, it flashed, it was far away from me. But it flashed that Nadal lost two sets in the Australian Open. And the next thing I do is I open the phone. And I’m watching the game 45 minutes into the game. And here I am, right I have a busy schedule for the morning. I wake up everyday in the morning, right around 4:30am. My first act is to is to get a few things done. But the biggest responsibility I have is to get this podcast done. And then I have some personal stuff that I need to take care in the home. And then I need to take care of some stuff outside of the home. So I have a busy schedule every day. Today, this morning, too, I have a very busy schedule, I need to be out by eight o’clock with a friend of mine, we have to go to Stockton, till about noon or so and then I come back have series of meeting throughout the day. So I have tremendous amount of responsibilities. And I cannot be waking up and spending 45 minutes watching a game. It’s important but not important to me at a level at which I’m responsible to life.

So what I thought, I’m going to drive a point how distractions are destroying our lives on today’s podcast. I remember I was born, well, I remember the biggest distraction from my childhood. I was born at a time when there was no running water, there was no refrigerator and there was no TV. TV came in when I was probably in fifth or sixth grade. And when it came in, we used to spend like, you know, four or five hours every night watching TV literally like it used to come at like 6 pm till about like nine or 10pm in the night, or 11pm. And I used to spend all evenings watching TV most of the times, and I dropped my grades in school because of watching TV. It was a huge distraction then. Imagine what our children are dealing with and this generation is dealing with. And look what happened to me this morning. Distractions.

There’s one thing that we talk about in peak performance, which is, every time you’re done with an activity, or every time that you’re doing an activity, you ask a question, Who am I becoming as a result of doing this? Or who did I become as a result of doing this? Every time you’re exercising, you’re biking, swimming, you’re with a friend, you’re having a conversation, you’re at work, you just completed a deliverable, whatever. Whatever you do, every time after an act, you ask a question, Who did I become doing this? Who did I become or who am I becoming? By watching this game 45 minutes gone, I need to get this podcast done, I need to publish the podcast and I need to get ready and I need to get going. I can run a master class on distractions.

If you want to become successful, you got to complete that which you started.

As I was experiencing this. I remembered a quote from Henry Ford, a saying from Henry Ford. He said if you want to become successful, you got to complete that which you started. And this is a lesson given to us by our parents very early in our lives. Henry Ford was working on a car, on a model that somehow along the way he felt is not going to cut it. So he started thinking of a second model, which was much superior. And as he was focusing on a second model, he started realize the first model which was already in in a design phase about to go into production was not something he should focus on because logical right the second thing is better than the first thing why should you do the first thing.

But something happened, and he kept on working on the first thing, he ran the first model through production. And as he was doing, he was putting his time on the first one, despite of knowing that it may not be as good as the second one, he learned more about the second one without even attempting the second one. Incredible. Maybe the second one might have come out to be a better model, maybe the third one might have come out with a better model. But then the success of all the subsequent models is activated to one act, which is the first model, which despite of knowing that it’s going to be inferior, he kept on working at it.

So the message here is if you start something, complete it. We need to take ourselves seriously, that’s the point. You started this year 2022, with some resolution, some goals, you have them in your mind, complete them, don’t drop them. We are 30 days in into this year, tomorrow’s the last day and after that January 2022, is gone for good from our lives not going to come back. Time is an incredible construct, which we created. But at the same time. You know, if you don’t use it the right way, then there are big consequences along the way. So complete whatever you started, stay away from distractions as much as you can. Even though I do self improvement, and I talk about that, and I do the chores and I do seminars, workshops, all this this podcast, still I’m a victim. You see, I still I get distracted. It’s a constant and continuous fight. There is no winning at this there is no it’s not like I Oh, I’ve gotten to this ultimate state of perfection and this is it, there isn’t. It’s a lie if somebody says that, so there is a fight and there are going to be distractions and and there will be obstacles along the way. But this awareness within which that we need to stay on track, get the first thing done before we go and do the second thing is a very important lesson that we need to give to ourselves. It requires discipline to keep our attention on one thing at a time.

That’s the message for this morning. I hope today’s podcast is helpful. If it is then please write a review. Please rate the podcast, share it you have a question for me. Text me 888-818-0404 that’s the direct line into this podcast. That’s the direct line into my show. And I’ll be back here tomorrow morning, early morning with a podcast of the day. Wherever you are, be safe.

How To Start A Million Dollar Business With 2-Days Of Market Research

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Welcome, or welcome back to Success with Srini. Today the January 29, 2022, 29 days gone in this year already, I hope you are on track with your goals. I hope you are. It’s a bright Saturday morning. And as I’m recording the podcast today, this weekend, I was updating some stuff on my website. And I came across an incredible post that I made sometime in 2009, to be precise, April 23rd 2009, on my blog. And I was reading this post, it has some views because this has been around for a long time, but only got like one vote on this post. I was a little sad because, you know, this is a post that’s old on my site on my blog, and hasn’t gotten that many comments on it. So I thought I’m gonna revive this post. So I took a printout, I’m holding the paper in my hands, you can hear the sound. And I thought I’m going to read it, literally and record it as a podcast and publish it hopefully, at least whoever is listening, you’re listening to this. I think this post will get a life.

So this is about an Austrian immigrant who came to America and started a multimillion dollar business with two days of market research. That’s it. So if you are considering starting a business this year, maybe you already have a business then this podcast episode is for you. And this story is for you. This is about Steven Klein, who was 31 years old when he arrived in New York from Austria in 1938. At that time, Austria, it was a Nazi occupied country. So upon arrival, within two days, within two days in New York, he started researching the chocolate buying habits of New Yorkers. And his research showed that Americans bought a lot of chocolate and bought a lot of sweet chocolates.

Now, instead of selling sweet chocolates, he decided to sell bitter sweet chocolates Viennese type chocolates. The launch model for his business was very simple. He made a batch of chocolates himself. And he started selling door to door in a very specific area of New York, which was called the Garment district back in the day. Now the Garment District was filled with immigrants and clients candy was continental candy. So it was an instant hit right away.

Let’s talk about his progress in the first year. He partnered with a local attorney to create the business. In 1940, the Barton’s Inc started with one store. Within one year, they scaled up to four stores. By 1951, the business was generating $7 million, and they had 53 stores. Now, when I made this post on my blog, the story by that time, this was 2009. By that time, Barton’s was already in business for 111 years. It’s amazing 111 years. Now, you can go to bartonscandy.com, you can read all the story. At that time back in the day when I did go to bartonscandy.com, there was not much about Steven playing. I mean all his incredible entrepreneurial heroics they were not mentioned on the site. Last night when I went to their site bartonscandy.com It was under construction.

Do the opposite.

Hopefully the new site will have Steven Klein’s incredible story mentioned hopefully. There are a few lessons in Steven Klein story. I want to drive those lessons here for a second. If you really want to start a business, all you have to do is validate an idea a lot of entrepreneurs what they do is they chase money. Why sell the same thing that others are selling? Why not sell some variety? According to Steven, do the opposite. At least that’s what he did. So he saw that people are buying sweet candy. So he introduced bitter sweet candy. Now, you know when you start changing the habits of people, you better be careful because it’s risky. Right? Do the opposite. That is, that’s the message here. If you’re not sure about the product, start with small quantities and sell it yourself. You don’t need a huge sales staff, sales force. And what Stephen did was he did door to door selling.

If you are not sure about your target market, always sell in an area, which you are comfortable with. So Stephen’s plan was a lot of immigrants, immigrant’s candy, immigrant consumers, just a small area. And finally, one last thing, if you are new to the area, or you are new to the idea, find a good partner. Steven was probably lucky when you found an attorney who understood the candy business, entity structuring taxation, all that. But you need to find a partner who understands, you know, things that you lack.

That’s it. Those are two pages that I wrote, I printed this out. I wanted to give a new life to the story. Hopefully, you like today’s podcast episode. If you do, then please write a review. Please rate the podcast, share it with your friends and family. And I’ll be back here again tomorrow with another empowering message or story. We’ll see. But maybe I should do one. One incredible entrepreneurial story every Saturday. Let’s see. Let’s see how this goes. That’s all for now. Wherever you are, be safe. And I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Bye now.
