Everything You Deserve Is On The Other Side Of Fear
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome, and welcome back to Success with Srini, a daily podcast on human design, Human Engineering human excellence. As I’m recording the podcast today, this is January 21 2022, which is a Friday. But this podcast is going to go live tomorrow. So it should be a Saturday morning for you, which is the January 22 2022. Happy Saturday morning to you if you’re listening to this on the Saturday.
And the reason why I’m recording this little bit earlier, is because I can, that’s the beauty of podcasting, you can pre record, you can re record. And you can also replace record. Let’s say you have a podcast that you published a long time ago, three, four or five years ago. And then since then, your understanding changed. My understanding changed. I’m constantly trying to expand my thinking. And I go back and listen to the old podcast. I don’t like it. I don’t like the way I said a few things. I could replace that recording with the new recording. Without losing stats. So amazing. Can’t do that on radio, radios real time. It’s gone. It’s gone.
Okay, coming back to the podcast, I happen to get a question that I would like to answer that on today’s podcast. This is from a listener who has been a relatively new listener to my radio show. Now he listen to this podcast, asking this question. I live long question. I’m going to cut it down. “I am constantly living in fear. Do you think hypnosis will help?” That’s the gist of the question. constantly living in fear.
First of all, I’m sorry. I understand. I can relate to your situation. Because I also have lived in fear. The way I answer questions on this podcast is I put myself in your shoes. So I cannot tell you what you should do. But I can tell you what I would do. If I wake up in your shoes. I do the same thing on my radio shows too.
Every time I have seen people worried, frazzled by everything that’s happening around them. And including myself, I have also lived in that state. It means that I have forgotten the dream. What am I doing? What is my bigger goal? What I want to accomplish? Where do I see myself 5, 10, 15 years from today? What’s the end outcome that I’m seeking? I have forgotten the dream. Every time I forgotten the dream? Doubt has stepped in lack of clarity, constant state of doubt. That means I’m second guessing myself, I’m questioning myself, I’m losing myself. And every time I have removed myself successfully from that state is when I decided to cut off all other possibilities and I committed to the outcome.
Every time there is a second or third possibility in the mind. The mind always questions the first possibility.
It challenges the first possibility means that we are creating a psychological construct, to question the possibilities that we, otherwise have within us. So dream has to be big, doubt has to go away and doubt goes away when we decide.
Every time I have lived in fear is when I forgot to respect risk. If I love risk, if I respect risk, it’s okay to let fear exist. So I understand risk. I respect risk. Everything that I’m doing has an element of risk then I’m psychologically better prepared. So I respect risk. Every time I lived in fear, I’ve seen that there is some lack of preparation. Somewhere there is lack of something mostly preparation. So what skills, what talents, what know how, what knowledge, what insights I need to deal with my situation? Where do I acquire those? How do I acquire those? How quickly can I acquire those? I ask those questions.
Be in the flow
In order for me to overcome fear I need to be in the flow. A flow means I’m not focused on my past. I’m not focused on the future as much. I’m constantly thinking what do I need to do now? How do I deal with the events that are happening today with me and around me?
Constantly in the flow. I’ve also seen every time I have gotten into fear mode is when I have dropped physiology. So I’m not working out, I’m not exercising, I’m not going to nature, I’m not meditating. That means my psychology is affected by my physiology.
Psychology follows Physiology
So, go workout, go meditate, go run, go swim, go climb, go hike. Because psychology follows physiology. As simple as that.
One last thing, maybe two last things. I stopped consuming news, ever since I stopped consuming news, my life has improved, we cannot completely stop consuming, but there are restrictions that I have put in. It’s a lot of negativity in news. I’m not worried about what’s happening to someone, somewhere, millions of miles away from me, who has absolutely no context with my current existence and with my current flow. So, a lot of negativity in the news. I don’t want that to occupy my mind space.
Whoever we are, we all are enough
And finally, as a closing comment, you probably tell yourself, I keep telling myself, am I enough? I questioned myself. The answer to that is, whoever we are, we all are enough. You see, we all are okay. Now that we decide that, yes, we are enough, then we need to start dealing with our situations with whatever we have. If something comes in, if some external help comes in, it’s okay. But then we are okay to deal with our situations by the virtue of who we are, and whatever we have. And that’s the starting point.
Let the fear be there
And fear has no existence of its own. It’s created by a psychological construct, by us with our own thinking. And will make it so big that it completely overshadows us. So it’s okay to accept fear. It’s okay to understand fear. It’s okay to respect fear. Let it be there. Because we are humans, we can’t take it out. So let it be there. But then we got to tell ourselves that we are more powerful than our fears. That’s all. That is the decision point. That’s what I do. I love fear, I respect fear. It’s their number of respect, fear, I respect risk. So because of risk, fear is always there. But I always tell myself that I have what it takes to overcome it. That’s how I would approach this. And that has consistently taken me to freedom. Not the complete freedom but freedom in bits and pieces.
Hopefully today’s podcast is helpful. If you like it, rate it, comment, share it with your friends, family. I’ll be back here again tomorrow. For you tomorrow, for me maybe today, who knows.
Take care. Bye now.
6 Timeless Money Principles
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome, or welcome back to Success with Srini, a daily podcast on human design, human engineering, human excellence, happy Friday morning to you.
I have so many thoughts on my mind as I’m doing this podcast today. But there is something that happened yesterday was with a friend of mine. And we were talking about some investments and how to invest how to approach the landscape the way it is right now. And the discussion went from huge investments into some basic principles of investing. I found it interesting. So I thought I should make a podcast out of it. So here I am, today, trying to share some of my thoughts on how to earn, how to save how to invest in how to grow.
Again, these are some things that I learned. These are not mine. I have been incredibly blessed with so many teachers, so many mentors, so many books. I love what has happened to me in the last 25 years incredible life. And the reason why I feel comfortable sharing this is because I learned, I applied, I got results. This became my own. And that is why I’m here sharing it with you.
I have talked about self improvement, starting businesses, doing several different things, buying businesses, investing in businesses, all kinds of stuff. But I never, ever did a podcast talking about money principles. I have done this in one on one coaching sessions with my clients, but nothing on this podcast, I don’t remember I did. Let me know if I did. Because there are so many episodes here already, maybe very early on maybe in 2016, 2017. But I don’t have a recent memory of me ever talking about money principles. So here I am doing this.
Invest in yourself.
You got to be engaged in a continuous and constant pursuit for education. That means you’re training you’re growing, you’re investing money to acquiring the knowledge. The single biggest investment that never ever fails to pay an investment that you do into yourself.
Now, while you’re acquiring knowledge, while you’re acquiring professional skills, I want you to also be careful with your physical and your spiritual growth. Those two are also important. See, you acquire skills in the process, you acquire money. But then if you don’t grow, spiritually and physically are not intact, then what’s the form of all that money, no use for it. Now, as you are studying more, as you are acquiring skills, and you are making money, you will accumulate assets. But as you start accumulating assets, you also need to study the principles of managing money. principles of managing money is as important as your career skills. So money skills are important. As important as career skills. Most people ignore this principle. So invest in yourself. At the same time, please acquire the skills to manage money.
Protect your loved ones.
And you do that by obviously saving and investing and all that but protect your loved ones by getting a life insurance. This is a big one. Most people don’t and my suggestion is get a term life insurance. Something that’s cheap, something that you can pay monthly. And you can get it for a very nominal amount. So term life insurance, protect yourself, maybe for 10 or 15 or 20 years. If you are a multimillionaire you have a lot of money now maybe two or $3 million. Your kids are already in college. Or maybe they’re already done. The call is the earning and all that, then that you probably don’t need insurance because you’re self insurable. At that point, we have that kind of network. But again, if you don’t have that kind of network, I highly suggest the first and foremost thing you have to do is to get a life insurance. Because in the event, God forbid something happens to you that at least the insurance will come in handy.
Credit.
Let’s talk about credit. I see people using credit cards and doing crazy things. And they tell me because I’m with them in consultations and talking to them on radio, exchanging emails with them. They tell me the crazy things they do with credit cards. Credit, usually under two circumstances one is if you’re buying a house, two is if you’re investing into education. Those are the only two times use credit cards. I don’t have credit cards. In fact, I don’t have a credit score. I’ve never felt there was a need for that. I never invested my time in trying to figure out how can I get an 800 credit score and all those things, even though, when I was young, when I was ill informed, I used to make those decisions, moving money across credit cards and all that. But now, those are the only two things I would like to have credit for. But everything else like any, any other asset, which otherwise disguises itself as an asset, the only two assets that I know offers real estate and education outside of these two assets. Everything else is innovate and expense. And if you charge your credit cards for that, then there is an issue. Now if you’re investing, I see people investing people buying Bitcoin and NFT’s using credit cards. Big NO NO. You’re borrowing money. So it’s not a good idea. It’s not a good financial planning.
You got to pay yourself first.
Go to any financial guru, any expert will tell you, you got to pay yourself first. So you’re getting a paycheck. Right? You’re getting a paycheck in the pre tax money, there’s has to be some pre tax that has to go into your 401k. Some post tax has to go into Roth, if you qualify, then some money from the paycheck goes into your CDs and savings accounts and other things. Why? Because most of the times, when you make money, the first thing that happens is that money goes to paying bills, you got to pay yourself first and then use the rest of the money to pay the bills. Now if you can’t pay the bills with the money that is left, it means you got to cut your expenses. Principle here is you got to pay yourself first.
If you are looking to hit homeruns, chances are you lose out.
I see people who want to hit homeruns with their investments. Like if I go buy 10 bitcoins today, at $40,000. Maybe in a year from now everybody’s saying it’s going to become $500,000, something like that. So I wouldn’t make a lot of money. I have no idea how the decentralized finance works and how the cryptos work. I don’t understand any of the stuff just because people are talking about it. There’s a lot of reviews and there’s a lot of buzz around it. I want to go and invest. That’s a big no no doesn’t matter whether it’s crypto or stock or whatever it is, if you are looking to hit homeruns, chances are you lose out. Why? Because someone who invests $10 or $20 every paycheck into some kind of an investment over a long period of time we’ll out beat you with your strategy of taking a bunch of money and putting into one thing that you think is going to be the biggest thing, you’re going to undo the hole that that has ever happened to you. I don’t think that works that way.
It discipline of putting in small amounts of money over a long period of time. And averaging that investment out. Dollar cost averaging out whatever that investment is, is a better strategy than a homerun strategy. And I see that people do So invest carefully.
Find quality assets.
And the last one is there are stocks that are bonds, there is real estate, there is crypto, the NFT. There are collectibles in all kinds of investments there are question of becomes says how do you decide where you have to go? And my answer is find quality assets. And the quality is something that you have enough information about there is enough acceptance, there is value that the market has associated, you have associated you understand it, you are aware, you have knowledge and then invest in those assets. Any asset that you don’t understand, according to me, is not a quality asset to you, because you don’t understand.
Now, is it possible that you can spend some time and afford and learn that asset? Yes, should you maybe that’s your call, but invest in quality assets and the quality is defined by you. Because you have understanding it should proceed with an understanding. You have some knowledge, some experience some insight into that asset. These are some principles.
I want to come back on Saturday and talk a little bit more about some investment philosophies and how you should invest and kind of take this discussion a little bit forward for a Friday. These are some of my thoughts that are currently dominant on my mind. And I want to leave you here at this point. You have a wonderful Friday. Wherever you are, be safe, keep your surroundings safe, keep yourself safe. And I will talk to you tomorrow. Take care bye now.
Your Uniqueness is the Answer
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome, or welcome back to Success with Srini, a daily podcast on human design, Human Engineering human excellence. I’m Srini Saripalli. As I’m recording today is the January 20 Year 2022. And Happy Thursday morning. One more day before this week is over, before the weekend. Okay, so today on the podcast, I’m answering a question that has come in from a longtime listener of my radio show. Not for this podcast, a general question that has come in for me to respond to them via email. And because this question is not for this podcast, I can’t mention their name. And this question, I think everybody, all my podcast listeners will benefit from this, I think, and that’s why I’m speaking about it.
The question is this, “I have been in this line of profession for over 30 years now. I’ve been in the same job for nearly 20 years, same company, and I don’t think I’m happy anymore. I don’t know where this job is going. I don’t see myself doing this job more than a few more years, which is odd.” He has been in this job for over 20 years. “I don’t know what to do. I’m unhappy. Across the board, I’m unhappy. I need some of your insights.”
So first of all, thank you for the trust. And I don’t know how to answer this question. But what if? Every time I answer a question like this, I answered this question by putting myself in their shoes. In this case, in your shoes, you’re asking this question.
I think this is my observation, I think over a period of time working with people and also being a student of success. My observation is, anytime you do something that is not in line with your self esteem, you will suffer the pain, agony, uncertainty, overwhelm, stress, anxiety, all of that stuff. Anytime you do something that is not in line with your self esteem.
You’re doing this for 20 years. That’s a long time. And I think that the question is not about leaving. I think the question is, how can you stay in this profession? Happily from this point on? I think that’s what the question is. And that’s, that’s how I’m hearing this.
And I did a podcast on this also, a long time ago, there is a book called Psycho Cybernetics. And this book was written by Dr. Maxwell Maltz, a plastic surgeon based in New York. And he operated a lot of operations, plastic surgeries. And he made some incredible observations as a part of his profession, that he ended up writing a book, second best book ever written, self employment. Amazing. So he says this in that book…
Do not do anything that is not in line with your self esteem. Otherwise, you’ll be unhappy.
So I think I’ll take my example, if I’m doing this podcast, coaching, training, this is in line with my self esteem. So it’s okay. I’m okay, I’m happy doing what I do. So it doesn’t matter what the end outcome is, but I’m happy doing what I’m doing. Because this is in line with who I am.
If given a chance, if somebody just gives me back my time, and I go back 30-40 years, I would like to do that which is gifted to me, by mother nature. That means there are some gifts within me that I’m very natural about them, I would do it, I would create a profession out of that. I would not do something to fit myself into the society.
I wouldn’t do it given a chance. So I will go back, take my natural skills, and I’ll be unhappy, maybe I’ll not make money, maybe I’ll be unhappy, that’s okay. But I would rather do that than deal with a situation where I’m acquiring 20 years of education, 16 years of education, then maybe 10 or 15 years of experience to build a self esteem all this is to build the self esteem and then use that to make money and great success. Hard. Difficult.
So, here’s what I’ve seen with people.
There is something about each one of us. There is something unique about you.
I know that there is something unique about you.
There is also something about you that you do that nobody else can do.
Others cannot do or maybe they do rarely. But there is something about you that you do that nobody can do.
And there is something about you that’s completely undeniable.
The quest is to find these three things. What is unique about you? What is that you do that others rarely do or cannot do? And what is that something about you that’s undeniable. These three questions you have to ask. If you ask these three questions to ponder, there is no shortcut to this. You ponder, you sit down, you brainstorm this for days. People think about their careers for few minutes a day, or a few minutes in a week. You got to ponder this nonstop, hour for hours together for days into the future.
Maybe you’ll build the clarity. Most people don’t do this, they don’t engage. Because anything that involves these kinds of questions, it drains people, so they just want to move on with the everyday aspects of life.
This is my answer. I’m not sure if I answered your question. I cannot tell you stay in the job, leave the job, take up a business, do a different profession. I cannot because I don’t know you. But knowing what I know, based on the question that you have asked, this is my answer.
I can expand each one of those questions. I can probably run multiple podcasts, maybe a seminar on these three questions, uniqueness, Rarity, uniqueness, and persona and all that stuff. So I can run a whole have in the past. I did run events on these principles. But then if you answer those three questions, I think you’ll get to your truth, your answer, whatever that is for you.
I hope today’s podcast episode is helpful to all of you. If it is do me a favor, like this podcast, read the podcast, write a review, share it with the friends and family. And then if you have a question for me, by all means 888-818-0404 That’s where you need to text me.
That’s all for now. Wherever you are, be safe. And I’ll talk to you tomorrow. And tomorrow is a Friday. Okay, that’s all! Bye now.
