Col Sanders & The Legendary Story Of Kentucky Fried Chicken!

When it comes to success stories in the world of marketing one of the most remarkable would be that of Col. Harlan Sanders the Colonel behind Kentucky Friend Chicken (KFC). Now, in today’s day and age you will see a multitude of Kentucky Friend Chicken shops on street corners around the world. Most would assume that this means that the founder of the restaurant chain simply came up with a very good tasting recipe, went into business and made a fortune. Hey, the product was a great chicken recipe and the world responded positively. What??™s more to know? Well, there is a lot more to know because it provides a lesson as to why one should never, EVER give up when faced with adversity. You see, no one really wanted anything to do with Col Sanders’ recipe when he first debuted it in the late 1960’s.

Col. Sanders was a fellow who really loved to share his fried chicken recipe. He had a lot of positive influence from those who tasted the chicken. Now, the Colonel was retired and up in age and when most people who believed in the sanctimony of retirement the Colonel opted to sell the world on his cool new chicken recipe. With little in terms of means at his disposal Colonel Sanders traveled door to door to restaurants all over his local area. He wanted to partner with someone to help promote his chicken recipe. Needless to say, he was met with little enthusiasm. In fact, most assumed he was little more than a crank! While most would have given up under such circumstances the Colonel did not let it get him down. He persevered until he would hear that magic yes that would skyrocket his business. Of course, as history has shown he found someone who had faith in his recipe and Kentucky Friend Chicken was born.

Most people would have probably gotten extremely discouraged at the first instance of rejection. This would be a common reaction among the average person. Thankfully, the colonel was far from an average person or achiever and he continued on in the face of rejection. This should prove as a wonderful tale to anyone who is contemplating quitting when things are tough because it clearly shows that great things can happen if one persists with one’s dreams and never loses confidence.

That is a success story for us all??¦even if it is ultimately about fried chicken!

Marketing by Surprise: The Long Lost Inspiring Tale Of Americana!

When we hear tales of marketing success stories we often here about the tales of someone who came up with a great idea and pushed forward with it despite all odds and ended up becoming a superstar. While this has most definitely been the case in a number of famous incidents there have also been those times when marketing success stories came about completely by accident.

Here is a long lost tale of Americana that many may find inspiring. In the late 1950’s, a number of firemen got together and purchased a plastic molding factory as a side business. One of the products they produced was coat hangers. Well, that was the general idea except for the fact that the hangers were so narrow that coats fell off of them! Now, there really is little use for coat hangers that can??™t hang coats so it looked like the plastics company was going to take a loss. Then, out of the blue, the mailman delivered a package and noticed the coat hangers and said “That looks like a toy bow and arrow. What are you going to do with it?” Well, they ended up marketing the coat hangers as toy bows and arrows and sold over one million units. This is what gave birth to the Aurora plastics company, a company that would go on to produce and sell model kits until the early 1970’s. At its peak in 1964, the company was publicly traded and oversaw revenues of $50 million a year. Needless to say, Aurora turned a fiasco into a huge success story.

If there is a moral to be found in that story it would be to never give up or look on the dark side of things. Sadly, moping and looking at the glum side of things is what people generally do when problems arise. Sometimes, accidents and errors happen and this can lead to a number of problems for a company??¦but it can also lead to an opportunity as the Aurora Plastics example shows. The key to that story was the fact that the folks at Aurora did not let a major problem such as the incorrect manufacturing of a coat hanger and the inherent losses with such a mistake get them down. Instead, they simply made the most out of a bad situation??¦thanks in great part to an unknown mailman who probably never did get any residuals!

Friends! This is Srini Saripalli and I welcome you to www.SuccessEngineer.comOn this Video Recording today I want to talk to you about one thing that most marketers do and they do the wrong way and I want to share with you this and I tell you exactly what I do about it. Now once you have a blog going and you want to get some good traffic, and one of the recommended ways of getting good traffic and quality traffic, is that you go to other blog owners who have successful blogs, and you start posting comments on their blogs or contribute to their blog. You can visit any blog and if they allow you to comment??¦ you can comment. But most people what they do is they randomly they buy a software that can do this auto posting across all the blogs. And I say that technique is not working any more and not worth pursing it because to-day where the internet is you have to be in the social ??“ have the social visibility, you need to be sharing and caring your customers and subscribers. Now that being said relevancy of your posting is very critical and it doesn??™t matter how many posts you make on other??™s blogs. So when you go to other??™s blogs you can comment on their post and contribute on the discussions but don??™t put your website link yet. You got to go to that website may be 3 or 4 times help their subscribers, do relevant postings that can really bring value to them and then may around fourth or fifth time you put your URL so that if the blog is allowing the search engine to crawl and give credit for your link, you will get the credit for it.

But even then don??™t even try to go to other??™s blogs and put your website URL and steal the traffic, it is not worth it. Contribute to them. Give them the good value to the blog owner who is responsible for creating that blog and that way you create synergy and you create good will. So remember synergy and good will is very critical for your success in your blogging. So please live up to it and you will get all the success you want.

Thank you.
