The Ups and Downs of Being An Entrepreneur!

Yes, there are a multitude of positives to being an entrepreneur but there as also a number of caveats that have to be taken into consideration as well.

Probably the most important would be the realization that being self employed means that the paycheck will not be in the mailbox every two weeks. No, when it comes to income there will be some volatility.

That is to say, some weeks you will earn less than you will other weeks. Of course, there will be weeks when income rides high but there will be other weeks were earnings may be very low. Hopefully, by the end of the year revenues will yield an excellent income. As such, it becomes important to accept the fact that there will be ups and downs when it comes to being an entrepreneur.

It is very easy to be thankful for the up periods, but being accepting of those down periods will require a little more discipline. If you are disciplined, however, then you can survive through the lean periods and accept them without needless worry and stress. Ultimately, it is the ability to survive through adversity that makes an entrepreneur successful and this ability to persevere needs to be strived for.

5 Tips To Maximize Your Micro Site, Mini Site, Feeder site & Squeeze Page Success!

As you read this post..I am assuming you know the over all concept of feeder sites. Some call them Sale page sites, some refer to them as Micro sites, mini sites. I refer to them as Feeder sites because they feed into my main site.

A quick lesson on Feeder sites.

If you have a main site in place, instead of getting all the traffic to that site..try creating a ton of small sites around the main site and drive the traffic to the main site. This concept existed for a long time in the corporate marketing world but John Reese brought this to the forefront of entrepreneurial internet marketing…

With this you get better SEO ranking for your main site the catch is…lay these feeder sites across multiple hosting providers , with this you can disguise the incoming link as if its coming from a completely different but a relevent site, and google loves it.

To demonstrate this example. Here are my four sites in real estate niche that feed into my main authority site

  1. Localize your feedersites, if you are delivering soft products and have an international reach this is a must. for an example see the top right corner of this page..you will see the icon which can covert this page to any language.
  2. Profile your database and see if you have any subscribers with physical addresses, fax and phone numbers but no email addresses if you do..send physical mail and ask them to visit the feeder site which could be a name squeeze page with a bonus.
  3. Every Feedersite should have “refer this site to a friend” many marketers including do this with our authority sites but its very important to have this on Feedersites
  4. Due to some changes in google policies and introduction of quality enforcing practices such as google slap and overall evolution of social media marketing many marketers are driving traffic to these feeder sites to protect themselves from getting bannned or loose rankings of the main authority site by top search engines. Use your feedersites beyond selling, name squeezing and link exchanges.
  5. Periodically change the design of the feedersite to gauge the response of your visitors. Design plays a significant role your website success

Remember you do not need 100’s of feedersite. Every 10 sites you start 8 will fail. So start with 10 to begin with and go from there and have a strategy to retire the ones that are not working.

Zero Planning and Hurried Execution Results in Frustrating Conversions.

Did you know over 95 percent of the broadcast emails and autoresponder emails are written in haste.

It??™s a known fact that email marketing is cost-effective yet very few take the time to truly learn and leverage this powerful communication tool.

While there is a ton of published material on email marketing and related best practices very few people take the time and implement what it really takes to succeed. Zero planning and Hurried Execution results in frustrating conversions.

Here are some of my own learning??™s over the years. There could be more to this and please do feel free to post your observations in the comments sections.

Plan it well

Don??™t hurry??¦planning is very critical. While a campaign or launch could be a big one, every message you send out has to be relevant and has to glue e very aspect of the other communication you plan for the campaign. While your first email could be an incentive-zed offer email to test the pulse of the market, your third or fourth email could be a highly targeted email that measures the response of your subscriber such as a small survey, or an exchange offer(asking them to do something in exchange of a benefit)

The key to success is targeting with relevancy. This is the fundamental reason why every top class 3rd party email service provides multiple autorepsonders, all to effectively segment your subscribers and profile them.

Very few marketers take time to de-list their subscribers from one autoresponder and enlist them on to the second upon a significant call to action response. For example if a subscriber to a special report is getting email from the special report autoresponder with messages that are ………………………….. (more…)
