Daily Actions That Increase Your Personal Value

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Recently I was on a forum in a group where people were chatting about how to increase personal value. So a very interesting conversation. Some people were saying, You got to really work on your passion, some somebody said, You got to work on your commitment. Somebody said, You got to work on your resume and your connections, I mean, a variety of a large group of people, this was on Facebook, a large group of people, everybody contributing their own perspective on what rates an individual’s values. There were incredible suggestions there. And I was for a second, I was thinking, you know, if I have to contribute to this to this discussion, what should I say that nobody has ever said, or something where whatever I say, stands unique and stands out. So I was debating this. And then there was just a thought crossed my mind that many, many years ago, I read, you know, something similar to this, a while ago, I read somewhere. So I went back to my notes, and pull this paper out. You know, there are five things that that here, at least in this note, which is, by the way, not mine, this is not mine. This is a book that I read, every note that I took either from a seminar from a workshop, or maybe from a book that I read.

So I have all these notes everywhere. So none of this is mine. This is something that I learned from somebody’s work, I just happened to be representing this here on this podcast. And also at my seminars, I wrote down five things here, clarity, strength, power, sincerity, and completeness, the five things that you need to add value, and you do that on a daily basis. So let’s talk about all these five very, very quickly. Clarity off visualization. So you should be able to visualize everything that you are about to do, or whatever goals you have set yourself for, you should see the end outcome in your mind, and you should have so much clarity that there shouldn’t be any doubt. When you go and you take action. When you apply yourself to whatever project you have, that you want to work on. When you specifically work on tasks within those projects, you need to be absolutely short. And for that, for that to happen for you to get that mastery. And again, this is a different discussion altogether, could be done in a different podcast. But to get to that level, you need to have explored a lot you need to be you need to have processed a lot in your mind, you should have experienced a lot so. So take a lot of data into yourself and apply the data and come up with some observations and then build some models. And with so much ability, there’s so much experience, there is so much of missing the right word. I think you get to the point, that when the next goal or whatever next challenge appears in front of you, you know exactly what you have to do. And clarity is very hard to earn. Some people say I have the talent, why should I get experience? Yes, but there are two different things. If I keep on doing the same thing over and over again, can I still have a different experience? Yes. Possible? Could be and there is no there’s no substitute experience. The truth is there’s no substitute absolutely no none. Forget about placement. So different.

The placement is a whole different thing altogether, no substitute for experience. And clarity comes from experience. Experience means you have made mistakes, experience means that are some lessons. Experience means that you have something that others should not have, in your own way with your uniqueness, clarity of visualization, and secondary strength of feeling. If you have done the job, right, then you have a different feel altogether. When you do the job, right. As you’re doing it, you know that you’re doing it right. Whatever the thing that you’re working on. When you think about doing something, you attach the right feeling. People attach intent, but you attach the feeling I know if I do this, I’ll feel this way. I know that whoever I’m doing this for will feel this way. You know that this is how great things are accomplished by attaching feelings. So there has to be strong in it you people attach it wrong feelings or incur I would say wrong feelings. And sometimes even if they do attach the right feeling the feeling lacks the strength. That’s where the word strength comes from, I think.

Then, the third one is power, the power of imagination. Does anybody else tell you this when you cannot imagine, you cannot even if you cannot imagine the outcomes, you cannot imagine how life is going to be you cannot imagine that you are out of the struggle and or whatever suffering or pain that you’re going through, maybe you can’t imagine that you’re out of this, you can’t imagine a better world a better life and a better situation for yourself, it doesn’t matter how long it’s going to take. You can’t imagine that that means it’s very difficult, it will be challenging. One of the things that back in the day I used to do with my seminars and workshops is to instill an imagination routine, forcing people to think and imagine differently, so that they don’t spend cycles, thinking about the current situation at hand. Instead, they project their mind. And think about all the good things that are going to happen to them as a result of them just taking action, or maybe, whatever, whatever the course is. It’s incredible when you apply imagination, I think that was Einstein who said nothing. Nothing of any value was ever accomplished without imagination, something like that. I’m paraphrasing it. And nothing of any significance has ever been accomplished without imagination. There are so many different quotes that come to my mind. When I hear the word imagination. The next one is sincerity. The sincerity of Thanksgiving, I have a routine that or I have a rule where I say, every day, I say at least three, three times, thank you. And three times sorry. It’s just clipped. I do that because thank these two things. This is an act of kindness. This is not an act of weakness. When you say sorry, to someone, it’s not an act of weakness, it’s an act of kindness. And this has an element it removes superiority. It pains, your ego. And it just forgot about all these things, but just the right thing to do. But you got to do that sincerely can’t fake it.

So sincerity of Thanksgiving, is we say thank you all I mean, we do express gratitude, but the sincerity of the gratitude is what matters, it is just not the act itself or not the word itself. And finally, completeness. And completeness, in this case, is the completeness of expression. See, you have something in mind. But you are saying something else. You want to do something, but you’re doing something else. People live in conflict. And because there is something else in the mind, and something else is in the heart, we tend to somehow satisfy the mind most of the time and hope that our heart will heal, the heart never heals. It’s very difficult to heal the heart. Mind is very smart. And the mind can really learn. But we don’t train the mind as much. We want to keep the mind as is. But somehow I want to tame the heart. If you cannot fully express who you are, what you do, what you stand for your values, your convictions, and your beliefs, somehow they don’t come out, then you’ll have a difficult life. It’s hard as is it’s very hard. And imagine you’re not able to express yourself how hard that is. You don’t want to go to therapy and meet people who tell me that you have an emotion that has been depressed for 20 years, 30 years. And as I work with them, and I’m like, wow, you lived all this life with this. Yeah. Not worth it. And the longer you stay without expressing yourself, the more expensive it becomes to fix it to triage it.

So, if you have some things that you always wanted to express, then go complete them. You wanted to do the painting or you wanted to sing that song What do you want to act or dance or whatever that is, whatever that expression is for you? the thing that you never did or couldn’t find the time to do? Go, go do it. You see these are not one-off things and these cannot be done. Whenever you choose to do or whenever you think you have time to do this has to be done on a regular basis, ideally on a daily basis and there are specific actions that you only know what they are within each of this category or within these five things that you have to do, so that when you do you feel good, obviously, but then invisibly, you’re adding value to who you are. That’s exactly what I wanted to share on the Facebook group, but then I did not, but I’m sharing it with you here.

Hopefully, this is helpful. I’m going to stop here. Hopefully, this is helpful. You go enjoy your Friday. Don’t drag this out anymore. I never want these Friday podcasts to be deep. I’ll leave it here and I’ll catch up with you tomorrow. Stay tuned. Thank you

How I Produce This Podcast Daily – My Process & Equipment

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Today’s podcast episode is for you. If you are a podcast enthusiast, that means you are planning on starting a podcast or you already have a podcast. If you’re looking for some resources, ideas, or some tips, today’s podcast is for you. Welcome back to Success with Srini.

Happy Thursday morning to you. I got this question a while ago about how I do this podcast. And I responded to that question. But I don’t remember kind of giving everything like explaining the whole process end to end, I don’t think I did it. And today, I’m going to do that on this podcast. Okay, how do we produce this podcast? Well, there are about six stages through which each one of these podcast episodes goes through six stages. The first stage is capturing the audio, which is exactly what I’m doing right now. Then, we edit and I do very less of editing but more processing. So the second phase is processing. The third phase is transcribing. The fourth phase of the fourth stage is the design.

The fifth stage is publishing the podcast. And then the sixth stage is documenting the podcast. So let me explain each stage and all the tools I use to produce this podcast. Okay, the first stage, the first phase is capturing the audio. There are two ways I capture the audio one is using a microphone that is recording into my computer. This microphone is called Blue. It’s called Blue Yeti. And it’s connected from USB to my computer’s USB, which is a laptop, which is running Windows Professional Windows 10 Pro, and the software I’m using to record this is called Audacity, which by the way is free. This microphone Blue Yeti is about 100 bucks, I think $140, And that’s all connected to my laptop and records. Now, I also record on my iPhone, the iPhone that I have is the iPhone 10 XR, which is old, I should upgrade this. But I found the microphone on this iPhone XR to be amazing. I open up the Voice app on iOS and record the podcast. Very simple. So that’s the capture part. So if I’m traveling if I’m on the road, I use my iPhone. If I’m home static, then I use my computer to record the podcast.

Now once the CAPTCHA is done, if I’m directly recording into Audacity, then I can save it as an mp3 file. If I’m recording on my iPhone, then I found doesn’t save your recording as mp3 file. So I have to convert it into an mp3 file. And for that, I use what is called a free audio converter called freak fr AC it’s available online, just search download. It’s a Windows I think it’s on. I’m not sure that it’s there on Mac, but I’m using Windows So download that small little executable and you can convert your M four v extension files which your iOS saves your your your iPhone saves into mp3. The reason why I want to convert it into mp3 is that audacity is what I use to edit the podcast. So because of that CD cannot work with M M four we have to convert that into mp3. Now, if you’re not worried about editing and all that, don’t worry about it. So once you have recorded your podcast on your iPhone, let’s say then what you have to do is you have to upload the recording to a website called all phonic Auphonic.com. Auphonic.com And what this what it does is it takes all this recording the way I’m recording now and it balances the recording. It gives that nice studio feel.

I’m not recording this on a great microphone. I’m recording it on a USB should be recording through an XLR kind of in you know Cable and all that but a better microphone, all that. But then because this is processed through our phonic, it sounds good. That’s the editing part. Let’s go to transcribing part. Once I get the recording from all phonic, which is instantaneous by the way you upload the file, you can download it right away. Okay, the next thing we do is run the entire recording through a website called otter, old p p ar.ai. I upload the recording to otter, and it completely transcribes the whole recording, so I get a text out of the recording. Now the reason why we want the text is because I also upload this podcast on my website. So when you have the text, the website also ranks higher on search engines. Not only that, but once you transcribe the recording, you get, you can extract a good headline from it. And also can extract a good description from it so that you can paste the headline or description when you’re publishing the podcast. So that is the transcribe phase or stage.

The next stage or phase is the design phase. Now for this, the reason why we need a design is that we’re publishing the podcast on Facebook, LinkedIn, and other places. And for that, they need a static image. And for that, I use Canva Canva is paid free and paid, you have both options. But in Canva, we design a quick podcast card we call the podcast image or the episode image. It’s very easy. There are a ton of templates. Anybody can spend five minutes and can design a Canva image for whatever, not only just the podcast but whatever thing that you’re trying to create. This is the design phase. That’s all we do. The next step is publishing the podcast. And for that, I use a podcasting service called Lipson. Lipson is about $15 A month $25 for different peers they have, depending upon how much space you want. And all Lipson does is you upload your image, you upload your audio file, you put your headline, you put the description, and you schedule it. And once you schedule it at a specific time, we publish the podcast at 7 am every day. And I record it sometimes in the night, or early hours, or very just like early hours in the sense like 12 o’clock 12 in the morning 1:30 am 1 am 2 am. Sometimes I wake up in the morning at 430. And then I record so different times sometimes I record some episodes way ahead of time I schedule them. So Lipson allows you to do that. I can schedule these to be published on a future day.

Now, once I published the podcast once I scheduled the podcast on Lipson at a specific date at a specific time, Lipson publishes the podcast. And the podcast now gets published into my iTunes or Stitcher or Google podcasts, different places that are bought one is six platforms where this gets published, that includes Facebook and LinkedIn. Now, this is step five, which is phase five, which is publishing the audio. And the last phase is documenting. And in documenting what I mean is that once all this is done, we take all this information and we put them to put the information in Trello. Trello is a project management, and program management application, it’s free, and I Management tab podcast on Trello. So So I have January of this year, February of this year, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October, all the months define all the days define each bay has a link, the title of the podcast, each has the link, the description, the title, and I do that because when people ask me questions, I simply look up my Trello and I sent the link. I talked about this yesterday on the podcast also. So if you haven’t listened to yesterday’s podcast, go listen to it because I talk about Trello as one of my productivity apps. So that’s it. Those are the six phases of six stages of Have everything that we do here for producing the podcast.

Now, there’s one other thing intros, outros music. I paid somebody to record them. You can Google them. I mean, there are a lot of services where they can record your intro outro, and all that. I think for a good podcast, you don’t need it. Many of my podcast episodes in the past had no intro no outro. I added them along the way. That’s not a criterion for a successful podcast. Hopefully, this is helpful. It’s very difficult to put this mentally to see this. If this was a webinar or a video, then you could have seen all these things. I could have shown you all these things. But I still wanted to put this in a podcast, an audio podcast, because if you’re serious, then you can search up all these and you can just by spending about an hour or so should be able to kind of connect all these things together and can see my mindset behind why I do it this way.

Okay, so that’s all for now. Yesterday was a resource podcast, today’s again, a resource podcast. I love doing resource podcasts because these podcasts are tangible. You know, other things. You know, self-improvement is sometimes is most of the times it is nontangible, but these are tangible things. We talk about apps, you talk about structure, and all that. So, anyway, so you take care of yourself, and before you know it, I’ll be with you tomorrow. Friday, talking about something I don’t know keep listening. Bye now.

8 Productivity Apps I CANNOT Live Without!

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

So today’s podcast, you’re gonna love this, I promise you, you’re gonna love this. This is a question that I was waiting for somebody to ask me for years. 2013 was the first time somebody asked me this question. And I really waited for nine years before I got this question back. And this is a question that was, that is as latest as last night, a friend of mine, just from a pure conversation, just asked me about what apps you use. To make yourself more productive? Incredible question. I was waiting. Nobody asked if there was an award, I would have given it to you if you would have asked me this question. So I decided why not record a podcast? I answered him and actually added more to this. And just about eight apps that I use on my iPhone, and some of them are on my computer, but mostly on my iPhone. And I believe these apps are available on Android. Also, these days, everything is available everywhere.

So there are some productivity apps that I use. And today’s podcast is all about the apps. These apps, they’re great. Okay, let’s get into this. The first app is without any order, I’m just giving them away without any order. The first app is called capital with a Q capital with a Q. This app. I talked about this a few days ago. What this app does is it does something interesting, which is let’s say you go to a store, you spend, you know, $1.30 or $1.20, whatever. And what it does is it rounds, whatever your bill to a whole number. For example. I put one gallon of gas in my car and $6.39 Oh, that’s what I filled last night. Okay. $6.39 and 39 cents to $7. Okay, now we’re talking about what’s the gap of 51 cents, something like that. So what it does are 61 cents I believe, yeah, 61 cents. So what it does is it takes 61 cents and either puts it into a separate account or invests it for you. I have it configured to put that into a separate account. And just a few days ago I talked about how to save at the bottom. Like, save literally like after you saved everything you have done your 401 K’s you have done your every and any and every kind of saving investment. Even after that, how to save on day-to-day daily transactions. This app is amazing. Check it out. Okay. The next one is my fitness pal. If you are a health freak, you work out you exercise you eat, then you want to measure your calories. And My Fitness Pal is the app is my second most used app on my phone. The third app is the C two 5k. App. I have a paid version of this. Okay. So by the way, all these apps, are free. Capital I pay my fitness pal I pay C two 5k. The app is called C two 5k couch to 5k. So if you are thinking of running and you want to learn how to run, then C two 5k Is the app I have been using this app forever. I have C to 5k and C to 10k. And have I run a paid version of it? I love this app. This app keeps me on track for my running. The next app notes on my iPhone Note app that comes with iOS. This app I use this to write down notes and I’m always taking notes. Most of my podcast episodes are notes that I have taken. I do write down but then notes when enough hurry somewhere I don’t have an access to a notebook to write down. Then I use notes to take notes. Very, the very poor, very common app I use is highly productive. I can keep it on my phone. I can keep it in iCloud. It’s amazing. Okay, the next one is again a paid one.

Notice is free by the way, but the next one is a paid one which is called True Bill. Do you have any subscriptions that you are struggling to cancel? You have subscriptions like Netflix or I don’t know, Netflix, but things that you bought some time ago, and that coupon they keep on billing you, you’d have no idea where these bills are coming from. You have a lot of money in your, you know, credit card or in your checking account, and you keep on paying them and you occasionally, it comes to notice that here, yeah, I don’t need this, I should cancel it, but you never go back and cancel it. If that’s who you are, you need to get this app. It’s called true bill. It used to be called a true bill. I think you can look it up as trouble. But then, later on, they change the name to rocket money. So check this app. I love this app, as a business owner. And as a family, man, I’m like, I have like zillion subscriptions. And I am always, you know, getting more every month I’m adding two or three subscriptions here and there, it just adds up. So I use Drupal to maintain my subscription levels. I’m not saying cancel, but at least you should know what you have put your money into. Drupal does it incredibly. The next one is a free one that I use, I use it extensively. It’s called Trello, d r e LL. It has a website but loves the app Trello allows me to schedule and plan my days. Let’s say I want to see all the podcast episodes done in the month of January 2020. At the beginning of this year. My Trello shows me all the podcasts I’ve done and the title of each podcast for each day. And I have for January, February, March, and April.

The reason why I have it that way is that occasionally when people ask me questions, I can go back, can search the Trello board for the title. And I know which day the podcast was released, and I sent them the link Trello allows you to plan projects. It allows you to see color code the tasks, you can see you can move the tasks around. So if I want to move something, I can plan my January, February, let’s say I’m creating a course content, a weight loss course, then I know I can come up with the modules in different modules, then I can plan. Each module will have how many videos or how many PDFs or how many checklists. And then each video I can assign different people to work on each. And I also can color code them. So I know at any point in time as a cause as a project. How is my project doing? Very, very powerful. Get it if you want to really get control of everything happening in your life, then the next one is doing just do. Just do it. Do is an app, I think it’s a free app. Wonderful one loves it. This is the one that I have been recommending to all my coaching clients for years, not yes, for about a year. And what this does is you can list all the tasks you want to do. And you can check mark each of these tasks. Very, very powerful. You’re writing down all the tasks on paper and you’re striking them. That’s the old way to do it.

The new ways to use an app, the best app that I found I’m not saying this is the best app, there are many more apps, and you can pick and choose whichever one you want. But this one, I somehow got a handle on this one, this is good. And the last one is called Spark Video, SP AR K video Spark Video. This is a paid app. This is the app I use to record my Instagram videos and my YouTube shots. And this one allows me to record in edit mode, I can record one line, then pause, then come back and record the second line two minutes later, five minutes later. And then when I render this video, then it sounds as if I have recorded this whole video in one shot. It’s a very, very powerful app, at least for the things that I’m doing in my life. Very, very powerful. So these are the apps. I have a few more but these are the ones that are used purely for productivity. And that is the focus of today’s podcast. That was the question.

So let me see how many I took note of here 123456788 apps that I shared with you. Okay, capital My Fitness Pal sees two 5k notes Drupal rocket money Trello to Spark video. Oh, Okay that’s all for now hopefully this is helpful if it is let me know and before you know it I’ll be with you as early as tomorrow. Keep listening.
