From Just Doing To Doing It Right: Here’s What Changed

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Today on the podcast, I want to take a few moments and talk to you about doing and doing it, right. So a common pattern I’m seeing with people who are actually responding to the podcast. And they’re telling me that they’re doing things. But somehow results are not happening somehow. They’re not getting there. And some even tell me that they have been at whatever they are at for a long time. And to a point where they are not seeing it anymore, in the sense that they’ve stopped to visualize the outcome. And they’ve started losing confidence in their belief patterns are shifting and all that. So take today’s podcast episode as a productivity hack. Take it as a strategy or whatever, whatever you think is, right?

So first of all, let’s talk about why by just doing we cannot get there see doing is the first step to success. If somebody’s not doing anything, my suggestion to them is to just get started. And that’s what anybody would say, just get started. Don’t worry about perfection, don’t try to make it the best. That’s exactly what I did with this podcast. I just started, I did not have an intro, I did not have an outro did not have a cover design. None just took a service just started it. And I kept on adding things later. Recently, in fact, I added the upgraded podcast cover and all that so more updates may come along the way. But by just simply thinking about scale, growth, growth, actually, it’s a good thing to think about scale is also a good thing. Now how can I scale this up? But you should be thinking about immediate accomplishment and not worry about growth. So immediate accomplishment in whatever area you’re in. You’re in a new job right now. And you can’t think of okay, my boss’s boss’s boss’s boss makes a lot of money. How can I become my boss’s boss’s boss’s boss, it doesn’t work.

The most important part is to this is my new job, I want to win. And what is the win, that’s going to make me feel good raises my self-esteem, but also make everybody on the floor, including my manager, appreciate me? So that they feel good, they hired me they feel good that I did something meaningful. So that is what you should be seeking. Hence, you get started. That’s the whim. That’s the first part you get started. So that’s what I suggest to people is to get started, whatever you’re thinking to do, whatever you’re thinking of starting, just get, just take the first step take and don’t worry about the growth, growth happens if you do it. If you listen, if you’re honest, if you’re sincere, and you drive it, everything is going to succeed. The biggest challenge people drop, people have the drive, to begin with, but they do not have the drive. And there is an analogy that you might have heard this, you can’t run a car in the first gear or second gear and say, Okay, this car is not moving fast, you got to get to the fourth gear. And the energy that you will be spending the effort a car as an engine sportsman is the highest end gear one and the lowest and the highest gear, we effort, the pressure is higher at the lowest gear and hardly negligible in the highest gear. But at the highest gear, the car is moving faster and smoother. This very simple concept. But then people don’t get this. So getting started is important. But he can’t stay there for a long time. You can’t wake up every day thinking. I’m just starting. I’m just starting. So I want to climb Everest.

This was a goal for a long time that I pursued. And I talked about this numerous times on this podcast on my radio shows. In fact, many of the podcast listeners and radio listeners supported me in my pursuit to go to Everest and this was a goal that I had for over, you know, I don’t know, 20 years as a dream, 10 years as a goal, and one year as full, you know, full-on activity. I was never thinking that. I will wake up today and I’m going to walk for 10 minutes. And this is the start of my Everest. Never like that. And because of the scale and the monumental effort involved with it. I need to wake up in the morning and run five miles. But imagine, take the same scenario you have a marathon to run. When will you start you’ll start with the first mile? I want to run one mile. And that’s how I will know and that’s how I will pace myself to achieve the 23 or miles, but Everest is a whole different game, I can’t start at one mile doesn’t work. So I see people getting stuck in a startup mode for a long time, you cannot be in a startup mode, you need to exit the startup mode very, very quickly. They never exit for some reason. They’re like, Okay, I know I’m wanting to run a marathon, but I need to run one mile. And every day, I ran one mile three days ago, and I’ve not been feeling well. And then I had some work to do. And then I had some distractions, and then something else came up.

So I’m back again today running a mile. And this has been a pattern for the last six or eight months or a year. So they never really get there. The most important part is accountability. Seriously, you have a desire, but you got to be accountable for the desire. And it starts with step number one, which is to own the outcome, you got to own the outcome. You want to change the job on the outcome right now you wake up every day in the morning, and you’ve got to apply, you’ve got to write the cover letters, you got to prepare the resume, you got to really, really, you become uncomfortable. I’m very uncomfortable doing this podcast, in a very comfortable, but this is uncomfortable, I don’t have discomfort. Let me explain. Right, it’s a completely different word. In this context, I’m uncomfortable, because I want to wake up in the morning and do this. So on the outcome. When you own the outcome, you can perform. You want to perform. And as you perform, I’ll explain a bit more on what I mean by performing a second. If you perform, then you can improve. So three steps, owning it, performing, and then improving. If you always go back to day one over the next six or eight months, or you had been that way for the last eight months, let’s say then there is no performance there. What will I improve? What kind of results will I get? You might have heard this, you cannot improve anything that you cannot measure. You can’t measure it will not improve. It’s all your feelings. It’s all your thinking. And unfortunately, anytime you set yourself up to I’ll tell you, Everest, I never discovered myself mentally, the way I discovered myself on average. And that’s the biggest change in my life. Not the summit, I couldn’t get to the summit. But then the things that I was processing in my mind were so incorrect, so off because I was under stress I was my body was challenged. Everything about me was challenged. I was really under tremendous stress. Because I’ve never done anything like that. I’m exhausted, I’m sleep-deprived. I’m hypoxic and don’t have oxygen. And I’m trying to do this.

So it’s a different side of me came up slowly. Man, so many demons there. I can’t even explain the internal that I have. They all came up. And I was thinking totally incorrect on the mountain. And I couldn’t succeed. So people say I’m running a fight. I’m running five miles and this is a recent conversation. Okay, I’m running five, you know, five miles, okay. You’re running five miles, how many miles you really are running? How much you’re walking, how much you’re running? And how much burden are you carrying on your mind? Like you’re kind of wrestling and not moving and thinking zillion things in mind. When you’re running, you got to be only thinking about running. See, that’s what performance is. If I’m sitting here recording, I’m only thinking about the podcast. In fact, less about the podcast is more about you. Getting to you. I’m not thinking anything else. My phone is away. I’m not even looking at my screen as I’m recording this. I’m totally imagining you on the other side. I’m speaking to you that said or speaking with you.

So I spent an hour I ran five miles. What exactly did you spend time doing? He cannot measure people measure distance distances is wrong. In fact, yesterday I was talking about hypnosis weight loss. I meet people I, you know, yeah, I have this Fitbit that measures my steps. Then I have this thing on my chest and I don’t know all the sensors, whatever. The why. Why do you measure all this? What’s the point you’re trying to make? Don’t need to measure. You’re doing it every day, right? Do you do this every day? What to measure the point to measure anything. See, I recorded the podcast and I played two A friend of mine or somebody, Hey, can you listen to this podcast? If it sounds good, I’ll publish it. That’s amateur. If I do this podcast, right, if I’m recording right now, I already know. I don’t feel good about it, then I’m pretty sure you’re not gonna feel good about this either. Who should I check with? I am myself. So you wake up, you run, you eat right? You sleep. Right? You already know you’re doing it. There’s no need to measure anything. Yeah, initially, maybe. But then I’m perplexed by people. Like constantly. Okay, how many pounds? Did I lose from yesterday? Nothing. Oh, I’m what, much less today from yesterday.

Now that’s a standard fluctuation? How are you? How are you? Oh, Srini, I need to feel good. What I’m doing now feels good, but does not feel good. There’s no field good feel good is a craving that you have an emotional craving to feel good. You want to become successful, you want to feel accomplished, you want to get to that next level, you know, you got to act like a professional, you cannot do this, at least mentally, you need to be in control. So how do we measure this five-mile run, you’re spending an hour you’re running five miles, you know you’re walking, you know, you’re wandering but you’re walking, and then you’re resting, and then you’re thinking then you are feeling something, then you are running some stuff from the past and some thoughts about the future. Now, all that has to go away. So the way we measure is this same five miles. So we run as much as possible, till we cannot run anymore. It could be a mile, it could be a mile and a half, it could be whatever. And that becomes the measure that becomes the baseline. And we come back the second day, we come back the third day. And we run that, of course, we will take rest and all those things, you probably have a rest In the middle of something. But the point is, next time when you run, you got to meet that number at the bare minimum.

Than you again, repeat that. And you try to better that next time around after you do that four or five times. And you improve time. You also improve your feeling as you’re doing it. Only people measure time, time is not a measure. You also need to understand how comfortable you are doing it. It’s not about I improved my time by three minutes. Doesn’t matter how comfortable you got there. You should get there without a drop of sweat on you. You get there the day when I started. I was huffing and puffing. I was gasping for air, and I got there with nothing that progressed. That’s the measure. Then, let’s say you started to start with five miles do it 4.25 miles and then succeed with that then go 2.5 And then two a mile and by the time you get you to start hitting these numbers, you are now really like like really you have a measure you’re writing you’re documenting, you know somebody the sun here is, let me see. Do you see that? Hopefully, the sound is coming. This is my notebook. On all the podcasts I’ve done so far.

\Okay, my thoughts are everywhere written down. for losing weight, you should be having a notebook where you are writing down everything that you’re doing every day. You’re building a business, you need to be writing down everything that you’re doing in your business. You are a job, your training crew, your performance issues, writing down everything that you are doing the job on that day. So when I look back and ask you, what did you do a month ago? You tell me right now, what was the podcast like a month ago, I can go back in these pages and pull it up. And people ask me questions. Srini Did you ever publish the question that I asked you? I know exactly which day who asked the question in which podcast I published. I know it. I have a whole Trello board not only on my mod book, but I also have a whole digital setup where I have every podcast and the date, the link, and the concept I shared one day, I do that you know why? I do that? Because I want to be, you know, on top of the game. But then I also do that because one day I may turn this podcast into a book available. I go I can’t listen to all this. I don’t like listening to myself, which I do. Most people don’t I listen to myself. It’s very painful to listen to myself. But then because I have the notes I’ve documented everything in the journey. I can pull everything into and manuscript that I think will actually be better than the podcast itself.

Do you see how this works? So don’t do it right Just don’t do it. Don’t artificially keep giving credit to yourself, Oh, I did this I should be good and all now, you got to be an outlier. You got to be a peak performer. You know, you’re burning 600 calories, you know, working out for six hours, but 600 calories under six minutes. That should be the goal. The goal is not to spend a lot of time and achieve nothing. The goal is to spend a minimal amount of time and maximize every aspect of that activity. It comes with you owning and better ownership of the goal. That’s where it starts. Okay, I’m gonna stop here. This has gone too far. You have a wonderful, wonderful Saturday and I will catch up with you, Manana, right here. Stay tuned.

Hypnosis for Weight Loss: How it Works

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Welcome back to Success with Srini. Happy Friday morning to you on the podcast today, I’m again answering a question. I’ve gotten so many questions that I’m falling behind. And maybe what I’m going to do is I’m going to block some time off maybe three or four hours, and record as many questions as possible. I mean, that’s like 40, some odd questions behind right now with the podcast. Let’s see how this goes. Maybe I’m gonna record them. And I’m going to drop them and kind of publish them every day. But that takes away the contextual aspect of this podcast, which is supposed to be daily. So we’ll see how this goes.

So today’s question is on hypnosis, and weight loss. So this comes from an individual who says, “I am on slash off podcast listeners. And I’m curious about a couple of things. I know you mentioned weight control on podcasts, and on many of your many more websites, a laughing emoji. And this is something that I’m struggling with myself. I’m regular in the gym, I don’t really like cardio, I do weights instead. I tried running injuring both my ankles and knees. And since then I’m not able to get back on it. I’m 47 years old 5’10” and weighed in at about 260 pounds, I would like to get to 210 or 220. And stay there. Is this possible? What is a session? Like? How much does it cost?” And for the sake of the argument, let’s name this gentleman as Rakesh. Okay. So a lot of questions in this.

First of all, I want to thank Rakesh for sending this question, and really writing such a long one. So first of all, thank you for listening to the podcast, and appreciate the trust. So that said, yes, there are many podcast episodes done talking about hypnosis, weight loss, and very, very common very known topic. There’s a lot of literature available. And as you said, with your emoji, yes, a lot of recordings have been published with hypnotic recordings for weight loss on my websites, and I’ve done multiple seminars also. So I’m going to start addressing them one by one here. There are many questions here. So first and foremost, let me explain how hypnosis works. Okay. And this is, there’s, again, there’s a lot of information there specific to weight loss. There’s a lot of information there. And I don’t think that information is complete, or at a level where I can put myself behind that information. So I’m going to give you my frame of approach and the way I see it, and we will approach it from a different angle altogether. Okay, this is what I do with my clients and people who I work with. So hypnosis, we call, in my understanding, I call it three Ds. Okay? The first D stands for distraction. So with hypnosis, you can distract yourself away from those things that are consuming you. And take your mind to a specific thing that you want to do. In this case, it could be a gym, in this case, it would be something else, we’ll talk about that. So distraction.

Hypnosis is a wonderful way to distract yourself away from some things or the things that are not helpful to you. And to something that is helpful. Okay. The second part is dissociation. So, dissociation is, most of the time we are associated with things we want to eat a specific dish, or if craving we have we spend our time by watching movies or smoking or something. So we associate ourselves with different things. So that they feel certain aspects of our needs. So hypnosis can disassociate you from a specific food that you’re struggling to get rid of. For example, people tell me, they’re struggling with sugar, they’re struggling with salt, and sodium contributes to weight gain, or restricts weight loss. So there are certain things that can be disassociated, which is necessary, by the way, hypnosis can do that. And then hypnosis can also put in discipline, which is necessary you got to wake up in the morning, go work out exercise.

You need to have a natural response to cravings that can be done, and you need to know how to differentiate between hunger and push, which people confuse during weight loss that can be addressed. So distraction disassociation, and discipline at a very broad level. And there could be more things we can add to this, but that’s how it works. So if you have a discipline problem, where you have difficulty going to the gym, which I don’t think that’s the case, here, you set it, you know, going three times a week, which is good. So discipline is there, but some people struggle with it. So you got to wake up naturally and go to the gym. So for example, I wake up and I step in into my gym or exercise, whatever routine I have, I don’t think twice about it. So resistance can be removed, and procrastination could be removed, interference can be removed, distractions can be removed, as I said, negative associations can be created with a specific dish or specific kinds of food. Likewise, we can create positive associations also, to a specific kind of food. For example, one of the requirements to lose weight is to hydrate and drink a lot of water. And a lot of times I’ve worked with people that told me that they don’t like the taste of water, and have gone from one brand to the other, trying to find the right taste and struggle. I, in fact, had a client who told me that they came this way 10 years ago, they came from a different state to California. And they do not find the same water here. That’s local there. It’s available in the stores, but it’s not available in California. And hence, they started gaining weight. They don’t drink enough water or don’t drink water at all.

So we can create positive associations. If somebody doesn’t want to drink water, we can make them drink water, somebody who doesn’t like caffeine, we can create some caffeine because caffeine also helps in a proper way, then hypnosis plays a big role in recovery and rejuvenation. And hypnosis can also prevent injuries. The specific question can be addressed here where you’re injuring yourself. This can be dealt with, in hypnosis. And the big part of all this is hypnosis can help you stay in the game longer before you see rewards. See people quit in the middle, and you probably are quitting now and this question is coming. Because you’re not getting gratification for the effort you’re putting in. And when people see that the rewards they’re about to get or they’re getting is not higher than the effort that putting in they leave the quit. So anywhere doesn’t matter anywhere people put jobs, people good relationships, people quit stock market investments, because they’re not getting reports that are higher than the effort they’re putting in simply. So hypnosis allows you to stay. So let me explain some of the misconceptions also. First of all, hypnosis is not a replacement, for your gym. So I see fitness instructors, saying, oh, hypnosis doesn’t work, then yes, but I tell the fitness experts and instructors that hypnosis will actually keep your clients coming to you. So if somebody is going to work out with a structure like maybe two times or three times a week, and that also in a hypnosis program, then the chances of succeeding in the gym go higher, because they’ll stay. So it’s not a replacement for a gym or a workout. And it’s not a replacement for a diet either. So you got to eat, you got to eat right? It’s not a replacement for sleep, you got to sleep, right? So you got to hydrate. It is not a replacement for a doctor’s advice, or a nutritionist’s numbness. So you can’t do this and get rid of that. So you got to do everything.

Now the question is, let’s talk about specific to your question, Rakesh, which is you’re working three times a week in a weight loss situation, got to work out six times a week with the second level of intensity, which is called huffing and puffing, huffing and puffing. You got to get to that state. If not, it doesn’t work. Something I’m not telling you to work out 30 minutes or 60 minutes and all that. There’s also a misconception that if I run I will lose weight. I know people firsthand experience who have been running forever that are not losing weight because the way Weight Loss work says it also involves stringent calorie management a stringent. When I say Kaldi management, that means you got to really understand the intake, and measure the intake, most people measure the out, and take, which is the outcome, but they don’t measure the intake. So that is an issue with that. So you need to effectively manage calories, both in and out. You’ve also got to manage your emotions, your feelings, your time, your activity, and your total entire engagement. And you got to do it over a long period of time before you see results. It can’t be done in one shot, and it can’t be doing this for 30 days and not getting results doesn’t work.

But here’s what we know, if you do it consistently over a long period of time, everything works. So, what changes will I make here, I will work more times a week running is not necessary. You know, the way running works is most people cannot and I was making the statement earlier, most people do not see a significant weight change. Because you’ve got to do strength training, which I think you are doing, you got to really maintain protein levels in the body and protein intake has to be there. In this specific case you got to hit you got to run yourself at a maintenance calorie level for a long amount of time, which means you’re only eating just enough to maintain the calories that the body needs. But then you’re burning more. So you need an orchestration around this, but hopefully, I’m coming across and you’re getting the idea. So, first of all, you need to cut down your calorie intake at the bottom, and then increase the calorie intake then the calorie type of calories matters also.

So routine intake has to be maintained, energy cannot be dropped as you are dealing with the day you cannot become tired and fatigued and all that. So overall management comes in, overall orchestration has to come in. So people cannot lose, do not lose weight. Because just because the running and I get that question I’ve seen this also is because what they do is they burn calories, they remove the eat, they put in stuff, and they go run they go exercise. So they are flushing out calories from the bloodstream. But the putting back again, they become tired of the eat. So running is recommended. But then running, if you can do it, but then it’s what you do, while you are not doing any other activity. What matters. So what I mean is, when you are static when you’re just moving around in the house, are you burning calories? So you need to get to a position where you are burning calories while you are static, or you’re just doing the basic movements in the house, or wherever you are. People burn calories if they’re exercising, working out that is given. But the calories that you burn while you’re not working out a matter. And that has to be increased, which means the metabolism has to be increased and has to be kicked off.

For that, you need protein you need strength training to kick in. So strength training is important. I suggest you focus on that. What is a session like so you will get some success with the session but it’s mostly you know, unconscious programming your things? For example, you might have had some affiliations in your mind some associations, some imprints we call them if something is holding you as an imprint in your mind that can be removed in the process. I would suggest a consultation. Depends on whether you want to go that route. I’ll tell you how I’m answering your question here on the podcast. I do not suggest consultations personally, I think that my goal with this podcast is everything I share here should help you. So if you message me, I’ll be more than happy to send you one or two recordings. Which by the way we sell but I don’t sell it anymore. I’ll be happy at one point we’ll I will sell those. But I’ll happy to send you that recording. If you have you have to tell me which area you’re dealing with. Are you struggling with your sleep? Are you struggling with diet, you know, whatever that is? I’ll send you a recording. I want you to listen to the recording if it helps you.

Then we have progress we can move forward. If not I get it I understand. But I do not suggest a consultation. Right as it stands right now. Because you need in just one consultation will not do it. I’m not suggesting a consultation. Let me put it that way. You can do a consultation with someone That’s not. I’m not saying no to that, but not with me because I have a different way of approaching this. And the cost varies from individual to individual, I do not suggest consultations. So that’s why I’m not going that route. But you know, different people have different programs. Some people, you know, say, five sessions, six sessions to sell by session, some people do, programs that run coaching, which I used to run in the back in the day, happy to let you know if I hope if I do one, but given the time of this podcast, and everything else that’s happening in my life, I’m not doing anything right now, being very busy. But then I’m more than happy to help you answer any questions you have. And that’s exactly what I’m doing here. For everybody else who’s listening to this. You know, hopefully, this is helpful.

Hopefully, this adds value to the time that you’re putting into listening to the podcast. There is more to this. And again, I’ll be more than happy to send you the recordings if you’re interested. And you have to let me know that you know which area of your weight loss you’re struggling with. Is it a diet issue? Is it a sleep issue, or a water issue? Is it a craving issue? Whatever, right? You’d have to let me know. That’s all for now. Hopefully, today’s podcast episode is helpful. If it is let me know. And I have so many questions to record. But I’ll try to record a few maybe tomorrow day after and I’ll be here with you. Stay tuned. Thank you. Bye now.

The 3-Step Formula To Achieve Any Goal In 120 Days

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

We are now 120 days away from the year 2023. The year 2020 is coming to an end in just under four months. first of September 2022. As I’m recording, as you’re listening, welcome back to success restraint. Today, I will reset everything that I’ve done here on this podcast until now. So without knowing much about how far you are, into your goals, into everything that you set yourself up for, at the beginning of this year, people do at the start of the year, that set themselves up for achieving some big things, great things. And along the way, you know, they all fade away, not for everyone, but for some, some do make it and some are restarting. So here is the assumption I’m making, I’m making this assumption that you are restarting, and you are having only 120 days on your hand right now to accomplish everything that you want to accomplish. So if that is given, then how do you go about getting everything that you are putting your mind to, or you started putting your mind to? How can you accomplish everything that you have set yourself up for? Okay, three things I talked about already three things you have to do. First and foremost is to take control of the day. And for that, you need to think about everything that you want to do one day in advance. So everything that you want to do tomorrow, you need to think about today, this is the bare minimum. That’s not how I would like to do it. But then that’s the bare minimum. So whatever you want to do tomorrow, think about it today.

Now, once you are in tomorrow, then think a few times, hey, I’m done with the morning, what did I do? I’m about to start my afternoon, what do I have to do? I already thought about them yesterday, probably I have a to-do list, then I have this afternoon coming up, then what do I need to do? And the more frequently you think about things throughout the day, the more you’ll be focused, and the more you’ll be aligned, talking about focused, the second thing is the focus. So in order to focus, you have to do only two things. I think I talked about this a couple of days ago, you got to organize yourself and you got to the more distractions, whatever distractions you have got going, try to eliminate them.

So if you’re watching a lot of YouTube, Netflix, and all that stuff, minimize that minimize your screen time your phone is telling you how much time you’re spending. So cut it down as much as you, in fact, if you can increase your focus, that’s the single biggest thing that’s gonna get you to success. It’s not the plan. It’s not the time it’s not the actions, none. Focus is the key. And the last one, the third one I want to share with you is a mindset thing. Every day that you wake up from here on, think as if today is my last day. That’s it. Today is my last day. I wake up every day with that mindset, what is my last day, but I do everything as if I’m going to live for 100 years, I talked about this numerous times on this podcast. So my engagement is as if I’m going to live for 100 years. But my mindset is what is my last day. So the last-day mindset creates urgency and engagement. Right doing that if you want to live for 100 years, create the intensity or urgency intensity. That’s it. So these are the three things I would do in order to create whatever I want to create in the next 120 days. So give it a try. And let me know. So all you have to do is text me on 888-818-0404 Text me on it. And this is it. There is no other secret.

So these are the bare minimum three, minimum three things that I would do to structure my next 120 days. Okay, that’s the formula, no other formula. Of course, if you have time to do other things, then by all means do it. But these are things I would do. Okay, that’s all I would leave you there. I don’t want to drag this out. You stay aligned, you stay focused. You keep tuning in, and I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Okay, bye now.
