Why You Need FAITH To Create Massive Success
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Today on the podcast, we are talking about how one thing will set you apart and will help you create the massive amount of success that you are seeking not only in just one area of your life but across all areas. Historically, ever since I started this podcast, I have been doing multiple episodes. In fact, in multiple podcast episodes where I talked about one of the episodes, I said you need skills. In another episode, I said you need talents. Sometimes I said you need grit. Sometimes I said you need hope, different podcast episodes highlighting one element. But then there is one thing that brings all these things together. And all these things are needed, the way, to create that massive success that you are seeking. And that is faith. Faith, glues, bring your skills, talents, connections, resources, and everything together. And when you have certain goals, right, the faith keeps you going faith brings all these if one element is lacking, and one is falling behind it glues. So whether you lack drive today, you lack creativity, you lack hope, you lack beliefs, you lack commitment, you lack fortitude, whatever you are lacking faith glues. So faith is an important element.
Now, at a higher level, you need faith in yourself in anything that you’re doing or everything for that matter that you’re doing. So it comes back to the point that if you don’t have faith in what you’re doing, it’s impossible for anybody else to have faith in what you’re doing. So faith in your skills, talents, faith in your capabilities, faith in your commitment, all that part has to be in play, in order to create a massive amount of success. The second thing in this is you got to have faith in people around you, people who work for you, people who work along with you, people who depend on you, and people who look up to you, you need to have faith in them. And then the third part here is faith in the higher power, whatever that higher power you believe in. When I say higher power, in my mind, the higher power is the being in me something about me, that’s looking down on me. And this has absolutely nothing to do with any religious beliefs. If you have perfectly okay, I’m not pointing out one or the other. But this is overall in the higher power something that’s way above us and looking down on us, and making us you know, as accountable and making us do what we do. And it’s very difficult to explain this, but you get the idea. Now, to simplify this, to put it in simple words, I look at I define higher power as the higher self, the part of me, that is above me, that is looking down on me and making me do what I’m doing. That’s the highest self, and I’m always accountable to the higher self. Now, If faith is not mastered, then everything else seems as if you’re getting to the finish line, you may be crossing the finish line, but then somehow there is some incompleteness there is some vacuum that some void. And at a time when the whole world is challenging itself. Everything is challenging itself.
Faith is something that binds everything together, brings everything inward, and holds it together acts as a glue. Now, that said, I want to instill some faith in you. And I will instill some faith in you as a part of today’s podcast episode by instilling by explaining how I instill faith in myself because faith is something that’s always challenged. So here is what I do. This is my fate sequence. My fate sequence has four elements to it. And I start out by saying this to myself, I will be who I am. I’m not going to, you know, define impossible goals for myself, I’m not going to say I’m gonna wake up in somebody else’s shoes. I’ve woken up already in my shoes, and I’m going to improve myself, obviously. So that’s a part of my daily routine. But then I am who I am. And I’m enough. Okay. And the second element to this is I’m going to use what I know.
Can I learn new things? Can I acquire some new skills, and talents, yes, those are all in play, and they will happen as a part of the day and all that as a part of life. But then my biggest calling is that I need to use what I know. I will never find a gap by saying that in order for me to do something, somebody else has that and I need to get that from them. Or somebody has what they have because they have these things. And because I don’t have those in me hence, I am not having the success doesn’t make any sense. So I’m going to use whatever I already have within me to create whatever success I want. Now, I will give what I have, I’m not going to wait for somebody to give me or for me to get something before I give. Okay. And as a part of the sequence, I also say, I will love others, as I’m being loved, four things, okay. So simply put, be what you are. Use what you know, give what you have, and love, as you be loved. Simple. These are the four things this is how I instill faith in myself when I’m challenged. And this is the sequence that I want you to try and see if it makes sense. I use this as an affirmation every day in the morning, or whenever I feel like and I’ll tell you, the proceedings of the day, events of the day, they all do not go as per our wish. We are challenged.
Sometimes, things happen as per our effort and sometimes as per wish but sometimes thinks they happen on their own and we get the pain and suffering despite our best effort. But then when you have an affirmation like this a sequence like this, it reboots you and brings you back into the game very, very quickly. I want you to give this a try and see how you apply this and as a result of you doing this, how your goals become easier and how you get a sense of complete fulfillment as a result of you attaining your goals. How To Start Making Changes In Your Life – A Framework For Building New Habits
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
On the podcast today we are talking about habits, a topic that is very close to my heart. Something that I have done is numerous podcasts numerous radio shows numerous seminars and workshops. And in fact, yesterday in a social setup in a social gathering with a bunch of my friends, the topic of success came up. And I said, Listen, if I have to credit, one thing for everything that I have, it’s habits. If I have to blame one thing, for things that I do not have its habits. This is a topic that needs a lot of time, effort, and a lot of focus. And I don’t think I’m doing enough on this podcast. So you’re listening to this podcast, it means you are, again, serious about your success, you want to take control of your actions. And I think I should be doing more talking about more on habits than anything else because this is the single biggest thing that we as humans have challenges with. So I was thinking, How do I approach today’s podcast, what kind of an angle what kind of a frame I should take to take all the parts that I have in my mind and present them in a way that makes sense. So here is how I structured this, there are some habits that impact us. And there are some habits that impact others. So two high-level categories. When you start putting things into each of these two categories, the list will be endless, there are so many things that go into this on both sides.
For example, if you are disorganized, it impacts you, your productivity, your performance, you do negative self-talk, impacts you with yourself and talking to yourself. You do drinking excessive drinking impacts you you sleep a lot or you don’t sleep at all impacts you, you eat a lot or you do not eat a lot or you do not eat at all impacts you. Your smoke impacts you. If you do not smoke that may also impact somebody said, if I don’t smoke, then I’m not my friend and I miss out on crucial conversations. Yeah, you know, but listen, your smoke impacts you, okay? Yes, you may not be a part of crucial conversations, but then you are having a life, bigger life than them hopefully, or a better life for sure. Posture impacts you, you sit and work, you stand and work, you don’t move and work or you’re always on the move. All this impacts you knew nobody else you then there are habits that impact others. For example, if you drive too fast on the freeway, do not necessarily you are getting into an accident or any of that. But then, because you drive fast, it could bother other people, you drive slow, which will also bother people. So that’s impacting others, you’re too competitive in your business at work to competitive competition is necessary. It’s expected that you stay competitive, but then sometimes too much of that creates trouble for others, nail-biting knuckling all these things, they bother others, they impact others. So we have two different categories here. Now let’s talk about this. As I said, there are so many things that can be put into these categories. And the list is endless.
Now the question becomes is this? How do you identify which one to let go of? Which one to overcome? Which habit to keep? It’s hard. So long time ago, and I’m such a big fan of this book, The Power of Less by Leo Babauta. Incredible book and I talked about this book numerous times on this podcast. In this book, Leo about a talk talks about a simple six-step plan on how to overcome a habit, this is probably the best. I’ve read many books and numerous books on habits. And each one of those books, each of those books. Every book is incredible. And I suggest that every time you walk into a bookstore or you open up your Amazon app, whatever, wherever, or wherever you consume your books. Focus on habits first, like check out the books that are the latest ones that are coming out within the habits, you know, category and you’ll see even the new thinkers, new writers new authors are coming in and the writing books the ideas are incredible. So there is so much in the space and the space is evolving, we are just starting to understand how the brain works just now like yesterday, we figured this out, and we started understanding starting yesterday. In this book, Leo Babauta talks about six principles.
The first one, he says, only focuses on one habit and does exactly what I did. only focus on one habit, and always choose an easy goal. Don’t be hard on yourself, people set this big goal, and hard to accomplish, then he says, make sure that whatever you’re setting for yourself, you can measure. And then once those three steps are done, try to be consistent, do whatever you’re trying to do it for a long amount of time. But then, also keep on checking daily. Yeah, you can check on them, you know, once every three days or five days, but usually it’s better, and you have a better response, if something goes wrong or something is not up to the mark, then you have a better way to respond, and, and all that if you check in daily. So daily accountability is what he’s talking about. And he says that while you’re doing all of the above, make sure that you stay positive, big one positive.
Now, these are the things you have to do if you want to do it on your own. I don’t know where else I read this. But I also have one more three-step formula. Also, I think this is from a different book, I do not know which one, there is another formula on how you can approach this. And this has to do with an external intervention. So step number one is you got to find an area that you want improve, whatever that one area is held, well get it out of business, relationships, whatever that one area is, try to find one area. And when you start focusing on one area, you will see many habits that are incorrect in that area. Now, once you identify, go find a mentor. And that are mentors in every space and takes the help of the mentor to put a plan.
Every time I get a call on every time I get on a consultation call. The first thing I do is what I call putting a soft plan on the call for the caller, whoever that is a soft plan. I tell them listen, you got to do these 3, 4, 5 things. And that’s the plan. And I get an agreement from them. Yes, I want to do this yes, this makes sense. They call in expecting there’s a magic formula, but there isn’t a magic formula. This is an approach, habits, a plan, a goal, measurable consistency, daily accountability, and a positive attitude. If you want to do it yourself, follow the first six steps if you want to do it with somebody else with some external help. Well, the three steps. And again, all the six steps do come in in the three steps. It’s amazing. It’s interesting. Okay, I’m gonna stop here. And hopefully, today’s podcast is helpful. It’s to the point, hopefully, short and you’re watching this on YouTube. This shouldn’t be a place for you to subscribe, and write a comment. Obviously, you’re listening to this on a podcast app. And by all means, please do rate and review this podcast. That’s all for now. Wherever you are, be safe and I will talk to you soon. Stay tuned.
My Anger Is Killing Me.. What Can I Do?
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome, and welcome back to Success with Srini. On the podcast today, I’m answering a question that has come in from a listener of this podcast. And it challenged that they are going through for a very long time now over 20 years dealing with anger, and something that they’re not able to overcome, “Srini, I heard you on your radio shows, you said on your radio show to text us, I’m texting you. My anger problem is consuming meat from all sides. I have been dealing with it for over 20 years and tried everything, but nothing seems to work. Do you suggest I try hypnosis?”
Yes, I highly suggest you try the hypnosis that is given. But then before you jump into any solution, you need to really explore why this is happening. And I want to share some thoughts about why this happens. I’m not saying these could be the reasons there could be many reasons why somebody is angry, and why somebody is unable to get rid of anger, there could be many, but then I’m going to highlight a few fear. Hopefully, you will see yourself in this. And the reason why I’m recording this podcast is also that there are many people who can identify themselves with this issue. Anger is something that we all have in us. And anger is a good thing that needs to be used in the right way in the right context, and in the right proportions. But then sometimes, you know, we really don’t spend time studying this anxiety, stress, anger, overwhelm, all these things are good, they’re not negative. These are the reasons why humanity has progressed has come to this point. Imagine somebody was frustrated with something, that’s why growth, they did something, they invented something growth happened. So there are good things. So all these attributes have their good and bad. So let’s not disqualify anger completely. But we need to get to the root of this, we need to identify why somebody is that angry. So I want to share a few thoughts here.
Hopefully, as I said, you will be able to see yourself in this. The first and the foremost reason is, Oh, before I go that before I go there, I have in my dealings with people in different hypnotherapy sessions. And in consultations, what I’ve seen is that majority of the time anger is something that they have inherited. So it has come from generations about and successfully giving it to the next generation or next generations. So it runs in the family, something to do with genetics, seen that a lot. But then that’s okay. But let’s talk about you know, that is there that could be there may not be there, there is a lot of research on that. But then, given who we are, we are very knowledgeable, you know, we have information, we have access to information, we can assimilate information, we can debate on information, and we can make some conclusions. So, given we are in such wonderful times, now, we should be able to take control of this. So why do we get angry? Well, turns out that when you are put in situations that you don’t like, and you never subscribed, life, for some reason life is putting you but you don’t see life is putting you you see other people are making you do things that otherwise you don’t want to do. That is when you start to become angry. And then you may deal with the situations that you have been put in. But then at some point, you start to realize that you don’t have what it takes to really deal with them. And the gap is big and wide. And you know, you are fighting a losing battle. So that’s when anger takes over. That could be one of the reasons I’m not saying that is the reason. But that could be one of the reasons, then comes that, you know, I am doing everything I’m doing. But others are getting away with less. Why is that?
I’m putting in a lot more than them. But I’m not getting an equal amount in return or more. I should be getting more in fact, and I’m not now this is not jealousy, this is not envied, none of that. This is in general. That’s the way the mind operates. You’re not with any jealousy or envy. There could be some struggle, that deep internal struggle, some identity issue or some key decisions that you might have made that you’re not able to overcome now because time has gone and the resources of the friends that were needed, have depleted and now you’re not a situation where you are unable to get that anymore. So no matter how hard you try, it’s not happening. So that’s leading to anger or persistent anger. That could be that. Or you are fed up and tired of taking care of something that you never really created in the first place. That could also be a reason. And there could also be some trauma that has happened as invisible trauma. For example, I met people who have lost a parent, or have lost some investment. And at that moment, they thought, It’s okay, it’s fine, I’m strong things happen, life is life. They said all those things at the moment, but then as time went by they never really took that statement inward, they never really identified with that statement. And slowly, and that could be causing the pain and that could be causing the anger.
And there could also be no specific reason why you have anger, you cultivated it, for no reason, it is there with you. And you had a vision, who you want it to become. But along the way, over the years, you have become somebody else completely, some whole different identity. And that identity happened because of influences from different people and different circumstances. And there is no one reason that you can point out, I’ve seen that happen to so you really do not know who you are anymore. And life, overall life path is unhappy, you’re confused, and you really do not know how to change and along the way, you have taken less and less care of yourself. Hence you have you are becoming angrier. That could be that now the question becomes says, Is this all there is to anger? Not really, this could still be other reasons why people get angry. But these are the main ones that I have personally seen. So I want you to, first of all, identify yourself and say, okay, these things make sense. Yes, I have changed. Yes, I have something that I’m being put into that I’m not able to deal with, I have been asked to take care of things that I am not responsible for, or I did not create in the first place. Or I have some trauma, invisible trauma. And I have no idea when it started, I want you to identify yourself in one or a couple or three of these things. And once you identify, then the solution becomes easier, becomes easier, because from this point on, you could try anything. So that will give you an idea, I will be able to get rid of this through mindfulness, should I be able to get rid of this with some affirmations? Or will I be able to get rid of this through some therapy, you will start just getting a feel of this. So I’m not saying that you start believing that you have tried everything and nothing has worked.
So you want to try hypnosis, I don’t think that’s the good way to look at it because with that mindset, you will try hypnosis and some will work. And now you’ll sell tried everything till somebody else comes along, who will sound a little bit more convincing. And then you start believing in them. And then you will again go through the same process. So I don’t want to disqualify any approaches. But at the same time, I want you to self-explore a bit before you try a solution. Yes, there could be a possibility that many of the solutions may take some time. So you may feel annoyed, frustrated, and all that. And there is also a possibility that you could be doing therapy and mindfulness or something else, a combination of a few things. All that could happen. So that’s perfectly fine, too. I hope this is helpful. I hope you find value in this. But then if you have a follow-up question for me, let me know so that I’ll come back and kind of expand a bit more on this. And the shortest answer to the question is yes, try hypnosis. Give it a whole full wholehearted attempt and let it address this issue.
Okay, my time is up to wherever you are, be safe, and I’ll be talking to you as early as tomorrow. Stay tuned.
