How to Win Your Way in Your Personal and Professional Life
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
On this podcast across several of my radio shows, seminars, and workshops, I have consistently said that the most flexible individual in any situation is the winner. It’s not money, it’s not the power, it’s not the connections, it’s not the resources. But the amount of flexibility you show decides if you win or not. While the concept of flexibility is, is a very simple concept, most people struggle with this. And here’s what I’ve seen the people who have the highest amount of flexibility, win, because they have the highest amount of influence. So I want to share some principles on this podcast today, that I know if you start putting them into everything that you’re doing, or anything that you’re doing, you’re going to start seeing results. So let’s get into this.
The first and foremost thing that people make a mistake is they want to change other people’s beliefs. People believe what they believe. And if you start trying to change their beliefs, that means you’re fighting them. So don’t change their beliefs, keep on educating, if you have a message, it will resonate, and they will find their own connection with you. And they may start believing you don’t change people. The second one is people’s behavior is always driven by the reward. So in order to change somebody’s viewpoint, you need to paint, whatever that’s going to be the future reward whatever they will get. And as far as the future reward is bigger than the current reward, you have their attention. So you keep on appealing to the desire to change.
The third one is the promise. We all make promises. But there is something about making a promise with power. So every time you present your talk, you paint an exciting picture of what they can expect from you. And make sure that whatever you are telling them is truly exceptional. So your systems, your ideas, your concepts, your products, whatever you are serving or selling whatever it is, that really is good. If it’s good. If they’re good, then I think people will reward you even with more later on. In order to influence you got to influence yourself first. There is an age-old saying that you cannot take people where you want them to go if you yourself internally do not see them going there. So if you make up your mind that it’s very easy to influence people, it’s natural that you will end up influencing. I have a personal story with this back in the day when I started becoming, you know, kind of doing stage shows and primarily the hypnosis stage shows. I have my own experience with this. Many, many years ago, when I started going deep into hypnosis, doing stage shows and therapy and all that, and demonstrating hypnosis in seminars and workshops. One of my biggest challenges was, what if I demonstrate and it fails. And that was the biggest fear I had. And then very quickly, I did overcome that fear. And today, when I walk into seminars and workshops, the first question I ask is, are you hypnotized? And many people say no, we are not. And some do say they are. And my point there is listening, if you are taking a weekend off, you’re here on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, and you’re going to be with me, I plan this event months ahead and you plan to be here months ahead or weeks ahead. And you are here now and you’re telling me that you are not hypnotized. So you get the idea. So it was all about the way I was thinking it was not about what I was doing. So once I shifted my thinking that yes, I can influence, then it’s very natural, it just happens. So make up your mind. And tell yourself that yes, you can influence.
And then the next step to this is that you need to be confident in what you do. So people have the talents, but something somewhere is amiss. Most of the time it’s confidence. So be confident. And as you are telling yourself that you can influence and you come across as confident. Also, make sure that you keep whatever appeal or whatever message is simple and to the point. If I go back and listen to the podcast, uh, one of the things that I could improve is I might have repeated myself multiple times. And everybody who listens to a podcast like this. They’re smart people They don’t need to be set the same thing over and over again. But the way I am speaking, that is a possibility that I might be repeating myself. And one of the improvements that I need to bring in myself is not to repeat myself, it’s hard because the way we speak is ingrained, it’s an, it’s as old as we are. So it’s hard to change that behavior. But then you get the idea. Keep it simple, keep it to the point, and you got it. And then every time you are in any situation, the primary goal is to make sure that the environment is friendly. And that everybody around you is relaxed. So you don’t get into conversations, that challenge the individuals there or people there or put them in an emotional state, that otherwise is not going to be conducive or productive. So make sure that you’re friendly, make sure the environment is friendly, everybody’s relaxed. And when you create a mosh pit like that, it’s very natural, it’s very easy to influence.
One last thing in all this is people who take the most are the people who give the most. And this principle was very hard for me to learn and understand growing up. And now with all these years, I see this when you walk into any situation, and you are in that situation because you want to do something, and you’re not expecting anything a little magic happens. A long time ago, I think this was Jim Rohn. Or maybe Brian Tracy, or could be Les Brown, said, “When you do things without expectations, life will reward you, unexpectedly and most often, phenomenally.” Something like that, I’m paraphrasing those words, but you get the idea, get the point. So when you go there to give something, you are automatically removing resistance from the dealings. And it’s wonderful. And I have several friends of mine who are in the agency business, they are either selling insurance or selling real estate, or selling something that is commissioned in commission business. And usually, when they go this is a complaint that I hear all the time people perceive us that we are making money off of them. We are not we only make money when they make money. But people don’t perceive it that way. They feel that they’re taking away 6% of otherwise, what would have been 100%. You know the transaction, I explained to them that don’t worry about that. Don’t justify yourself but make sure that you lead with service and you lead with a service message, anything that you’re doing.
Now, one other thing when it comes down to service is you got to consistently give proof to people because people keep on asking questions in their minds. They may not say that. But they’re constantly asking questions, all of us asking questions right now, while you are listening to this, you’re asking questions. I have no idea. But you’re asking questions, the unconscious mind keeps on formulating different images and different pictures in the mind. So we all are asking questions. So it’s important that you provide proof every time you are in a service model. And one last thing I said one last thing, but this is the last thing that no matter what you do, people will have objections. It’s a natural part of life. People who like you love you, they will like you love you, people who will hate you dislike you they will hate and dislike you and there is no which way that you can make everybody happy. So there will be unreasonable expectations of you. So your job is every time you encounter unreasonable expectations or an objection, step aside. Let it pass by and you keep on doing what you’re doing. Make sure that all the above whatever I just shared is true. Make sure that you have a giving mindset. Don’t expect anything in return. Do it whatever you can to create an atmosphere of friendliness and relaxation. Keep your message simple and to the point. Be confident. Tell yourself that you can influence and he will influence. Attach some power to your promise. Do all of that. Explain the reward, and do all of that. But make sure that you step away when you are getting unreasonable objections and resentment and all so that you prepare yourself and you go back into the game.
That’s all I wanted to share. Hopefully, this is helpful. You’re watching this on YouTube. Drop me a comment. If you are listening to this on any podcasting app also dropped me a comment specifically on YouTube please subscribe to the channel like the video share it so they can reach a few more people that’s all that’s to ask that’s all for now wherever you are be safe and I’ll catch up with you as early as tomorrow. Extend Your Mind By Bending The Curves Of Productivity
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
The underlying promise of this podcast is you can overcome any dysfunction in your life by simply expanding your mind. Over and over again, on this podcast and across multiple radio shows of mine, I have been talking about mind expansion techniques, I talk about hypnosis, I talk about yoga, meditation, and many different things. Now, the truth is, I’m not unique. Many people do this, this whole self-improvement industry is filled with experts and gurus talking about different ways to expand the human mind. And the reason why all of us are doing this is that it works.
Now today on this podcast, I want to put a different kind of spin on this thing called the expansion of the mind. Rather than working towards expanding the mind, let’s talk about extending the mind and why it’s important. Before I go in and explain all this, let’s make a distinction between expansion and extending an expansion. See, the extension means to stretch, expand means spread, there is a lot going on in your life. So to spread the mind, you can put in all of that you can fit all of that into your existence. When you spread the mind, when you stretch the mind, whatever you’re doing, you do it a little bit better. You see a little bit better. So in my experience, even though mind expansion principles work for a majority of the people, extending the mind can also create miracles. Very, very different, but it works. It works amazingly.
Now, even combining these two, you become unstoppable. So what way can you bring in the ability to extend your mind, what we have seen is, that the easiest way to extend the mind is to bend the curve of productivity. Whatever you are doing right now, we just modified that a little bit here and there. And we kind of stretched the productivity, that’s the right way to put it. So how do you do this? Now, there are many other schools of thought on this. I’m not saying that productivity is the only way to approach the extension of the mind. But in my opinion, in my experience, it’s about productivity. At the end of the day, we all want to become productive. Of course, we all want to become impactful and influential and all that but it’s about productivity, it’s all about feeling good about what we have done. Now, I don’t know if you are a student of productivity or not, maybe you do subscribe to the thought, maybe not the godless all of us are producing something, even if we are producing nothing but producing something. So there is productivity, we are consuming, we are producing something, maybe it’s meaningful at a larger scale, maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s only meaningful to you and may not be to everybody. And that’s perfectly fine. So I want to share with you some ideas around how I have structured this, and it’s going to help you hopefully. So there are four primary principles. So there is a start. There is a give, there is a couple or club, and then there is a close. Okay, so there are four things and I want to expand on these four things.
So let’s talk about the start. You’re always starting something, and you’re always closing something at this moment, right now you are you have started this podcast episode, you’re listening to it, you’re gonna close it out in just about just a few minutes. Maybe you’re doing this on YouTube, maybe you’re listening in your app doesn’t matter. But while you are listening to this, there is something else that is happening in your mind. You’re thinking about something else, or you’re seeing something you’re driving, maybe you’re seeing something. So at any point in time, the mind is starting something and closing something. Now let’s take this into and bring this into the concept of productivity for a second.
See, I woke up this morning at 4:30 am. That’s my start. I’m starting my day. And I’m just going to start my flow. My flow is in already. So I’m doing things I’m recording this podcast. I did a few things a little bit earlier. I’m going to do a few more things a little bit later and all that so I have a schedule I have all the tasks identified and I am on My floor. So I’ve started my day, sorting a few things here and there. And all that. Now, I’m in the flow state, my goal is every day I start my day at 4:30 am. That’s my goal. And I keep pretty consistent with that. The flow is set, the start is set, the flow is not set I take the back and may start the set, but the floor, sometimes I get in sometimes I do not. Here is how I approach my start. If I’m doing something that’s happening, this podcast is happening. At some point, I’ll say, Okay, wait a minute. So I’m done with the podcast, why don’t I go, Listen, I don’t feel that I really did a good job with it. So I’m going to stop the podcast, maybe delete the whole thing, and we’ll redo this. So what I’ve done is I’ve stretched, even though I do not edit as much, and even though I’m not going to take anything out of this, but you get the idea I want to stretch. So hey, I did it. It sounds okay. But what if I do it the second time, it’s going to sound good. Or maybe it’s going to feel good. Sound is not the issue, the feelings issue. If I don’t feel this to be good, I have no right to publish this, and making you go through this doesn’t make any sense. So I need to feel good about this. So I’m going to stretch myself a bit. So whatever you’re starting, is it possible for you to kind of stay a little bit longer on it and sort it a little bit more. So that you have better quality, you have a better product at the end. And that is what we call stretching. So I try to stretch whatever I’m doing. But I don’t want to overstretch if I do them now I’m kind of overstepping on other things. So if I have 30 minutes to record this podcast, I have to, it’s okay to do as many takes as possible. But I cannot go beyond 30 minutes, because something else will have to get done. To start with it, the next one gets compromised. The second part is given. I start my day by giving it away. Before many, many years ago, I used to do a coaching program early morning at 6:30 am. And that was my way of starting my day by giving it away. Not necessary for me to do at six o’clock in the morning. But I used to and people used to join in. People had difficulty waking up in the morning. So they had to wake up, they have to start the day at six in the morning, and then move on with the proceedings of life. These days, I wake up, and one of the only things that I do in this podcast. My idea is to give it away for whatever there is no withholding of information. There is no expectation, no greed, none. And we do the podcast done with it. And I run this as a coaching podcast. Because if you and I are talking one-on-one we are face to face, I will tell you the same thing that I’m telling you on this podcast. That’s how I see this.
So I have an element where I do something to give away. And that is the stretch. Do you know why? Because all of us are selfish. The human mind by default is selfish. So if I can cut something, I should cut something away, that I’m doing for gaining nothing in return. So we all cut things off. Because we’re not getting something in return. We stopped doing stuff people stopped going to the gym and working out because they’re not seeing any gains. So why don’t you do something that you do without expecting anything? So you challenge the mind, you’re training the mind, not to always keep on expecting to get something. Sometimes the mind is like, you know, if I’ll only do this, if I get something out of it doesn’t work that way. The Universal Laws of compensation don’t work that way. There are things that you will have to do in this life for which you will never are going to be rewarded. Take my word for this, you will never be rewarded, and you will have to do things right. Yet you will be punished. So this is how it works. And sometimes people do get things without doing anything and it’s okay. That’s how it is something about life that we will not be able to figure out in this lifetime. Okay. That’s how it works. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I think fortunately. Can you help someone as a part of your starting your day? And most importantly, can you start your day by giving it away some element of it being given away? That’s the stretch. Then the coupling and clubbing let’s talk about About. You see, there are many things I do that are very dull and dumb. I mean, this podcast is the only thing that I do where I cannot couple. I mean, I cannot do something else while I’m recording this podcast, I had to completely 100% wholeheartedly, totally dialed in into this. There are things that you could do. So if you are running, you can listen to an audiobook, or maybe to this podcast. If you are working, you can listen to some music. That’s you can couple a few things. One of the ways I used to club things back in the day was I had the challenge of reading books. And I talked about this also, before, on this podcast, I used to buy all these books, but I could never read these books. because books are heavy. And as I’m looking in all these books, all these books, and they have so many papers, and so many pages, I read all the books that they want the number of books I have, and this was 15 years ago. And now I’ve started giving all my books away, I’ve given most of them away, and I have a few more left. So one of the ways I started coupling is I used to go to let’s say, I go to Costco to buy stuff. And I parked myself outside in the parking lot. And I read one chapter of the book, then go inside and buy stuff, and come back to the car, and then read one more chapter before driving home. So that way, I was doing two things, such as clubbing things, not the right way to do it. But it’s kind of more building accountability. Also, there is an element of accountability there. But you have to figure out what all the other things that you can do. That can be coupled, or that can be clubbed. So you do two or three things simultaneously.
One other thing I used to do, and as I’m driving long-distance driving, I used to coach people, instead of talking to my friends. That’s the time that I use for coaching. So not only I’m driving to the destination, but I’m also coaching people during the time. So it’s amazing. So you’re turning some dull acts into full acts. Going to Costco buying stuff that dialect. But then just because I’m reading a book, and I feel good, now that I’ve completed two or three or five chapters in about a month or two, now we’re making progress. It’s not a dull act anymore. It’s a full act. The last one is closing, and we’re talking a little bit about this one. Closing means that when you start something close, don’t leave it in the middle of the amount of stress it creates. Now you don’t need to extend your mind anymore. Now you have to look for some expansion techniques. So you’re undoing yourself. So it touches the mind to complete it, even though it’s hard. Push yourself to get it done. Okay. As I said, if I have 30 minutes to the podcast, as I’m done with it, I asked a question myself, can I reopen this task? Or can I reopen this? Can I go back to the beginning, say I spent 20 minutes recording this? It’s not sounding right. Can I reopen this? And can I accomplish this in the next 10 minutes? So as you close question yourself, and if you close early, something’s wrong. If you’re closing late on something, something is wrong. That means you didn’t really estimate the time that was needed to work on this. So there is also an element of estimation here too. So if you start something, close it, if you’re closing it early, question yourself, you’re closing it late.
That means you don’t have time to react, all of that. So start to give the club close. This is how you bend the curve. So productivity, and this is the way you trigger the mind extension. Five Questions That Will Make You Exceptional
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
How can you go from being mediocre to exceptional in anything that you are doing today? That is the topic of today’s podcast episode. And today’s podcast episode is, in a way, a continuation of what I shared with you two days ago, two days ago. I said, don’t take people along with you who do not believe in what you’re doing. Don’t entertain people who do not believe in your destinations, your goals your achievements. If you try, then you are going to encounter setbacks. That was the point that I made two days ago. And the moment I recorded the podcast, it got published. Yesterday, I was listening to it. And I realized, by the way, most people don’t listen to the podcasts, the record publish, and they’re done with it. Most podcasters don’t go back and listen, I was listening to it. And he realized that there was something I wanted to say, and I missed out on saying, so I want to add that today. Okay.
Now, every time this question might have crossed your mind, now what can I do to overcome the challenge that I’m going through? In I’m going to display I’m going through the suffering, I have to do something, what else can I do on trying everything? Now, over and over again, this question has been asked, and I have responded in every which way. And some of the suggestions, when you ask anybody, some of the suggestions would be like, You got to go start learning, relearning, and kind of surrender to some new ideas, new thoughts, become more passionate. So little bit more patience. Spend time with good people, participate in great conversations, start developing faith in yourself, and then bring in a little bit more commitment and determination, and then start having this mindset where within which you don’t give up. So these are some of the suggestions you get, I get I’ve given them here also, the question is much deeper than that, see mediocrity, all these things work. But then mediocrity is a whole thing in itself. It’s just hard to break through. And all these things are elements that will help in achieving the breakthrough. But then there are some bigger and deeper questions you got to answer for these elements to work. So let’s talk about that for a second. A few things that are needed to move from being mediocre to exceptional.
First and foremost is that you got to build an objective mindset. Here is what I’m doing, and this is who I am. And you set your emotions aside and start becoming objective. Okay, this is what I’m doing is the result I’m getting, what can I change? What can I modify? What can I improve? What can I take out, you start becoming objective in every element of whatever you’re trying to achieve? That’s step number one, obviously, you have to have a positive mindset. Because if you start analyzing data in different aspects of your life, most of the data come out to be negative. So for example, if you start measuring your time, if you start measuring your actions, there isn’t much positive, they’re more or less you are repeating yourself. And you get frustrated. Because if you look at your clock, let’s say your yesterday’s workload, he said no, yesterday, what all did I achieve? And if you didn’t plan your time, you didn’t plan your actions. And you look at the data. And you’re like, This is it, I only did two things, three things or whatever, right? I mean, I did not accomplish anything. So once you start collecting data, it’s hard. Data never lies, it tells you, you know, it is what it is, right? So if I produce a podcast, I publish a podcast, I know the downloads, whether I like it or not, I don’t look at them. That’s a different story. But then I know the downloads, I know how many people are downloading, how many people are listening, how many people are coming back to listen to all my new releases, I know that there is no way I can hide it. But that also makes the objective. Okay, so this is the point I’m trying to make, then comes some other elements like taking the data and then preparing yourself to know what needs to be changed what can be done all that right, and you become prudent along the way. So just by staying positive, becoming a little bit more prudent, but then collecting the data and modifying the data in itself is an exceptional act.
Truly, it makes you exceptional because even though the numbers are negative, just your measuring that in itself means that you are positive. That means you are a success-minded individual. That means that you are serious about the outcomes. Now whether there again, you know, how you measure all that is a different discussion, but just because you’re having a measure, measuring mindset, that’s the point.
Now, that’s okay, but then how can you bring in passion, determination, new ideas, new standards, and all that into your condition right now? Whatever condition you’re in, so Like to become exceptional? Do those elements have to play out? How can they play out? Well, if you go a little deeper, there are about five questions you got to answer. And once you answer these five questions, every element is going to work. If you don’t ask these five questions, then other elements do not work. And I’m saying that because I’ve tested this out, inside and out across in my own projects, in my own approach, with my clients, and I’ve tested out with my family members, I’ve seen this inside and out, I’m telling you, it’s amazing. If you just follow this. The first and foremost question you got to ask wherever you are right now. And in this at this moment, at this point, you got asked this question, what do I want to do? What is that I want to do? You wake up in the morning, and you ask the question, what is that I want to do? I’m gonna go, let’s say a walk. Is this walking, contributing? To whoever I want to become? Hmm. You go to the gym, you work out? Whatever workout you do, did it contribute? Or will it contribute? That’s the first one, will it contribute? And once you are there, and you do it, you got to ask the question, did it contribute? Or do I just spend my time? So so big question, anything, any aspect of life? What is that I want to do? And then once I’m done doing what I’m doing, once I know what I want to do, the question now comes up is what do I want to be? At the end of all the doings? What do you want to be? The hard one? And then where do I want to go? It’s even a bigger one.
Followed by now with these three questions, you pretty much know what you have, what you do not have what you need to bridge, and all that. And then the next question is, you know, what do I need to have in order to achieve the prior three questions? What’s the gap? And how do I fill the gap? And then the final question, this is even a bigger one. This is a question that I struggled to answer myself. I’ll tell you, I mean, been toying with this for the last 10 years. What do I stand for? In the little corner of the world?
Wherever you are a little corner? And what do you stand for? If I ask you, what do you stand for? What’s your answer? Think about it. You’re not answering me. But answer yourself. What do you stand for? Money? already told me this in seminar money? Not really. You don’t stand for money, I bought 10 houses? No, that’s not what you stand for. Those are all the byproducts of what you did. If whatever you stood for was good, then that’s okay. You know you got all these things, you running a company, I want to build a company, what’s the purpose of the company, I want to make more money? Well, that’s not the purpose of the company. That’s not the goal. That’s not the outcome of making money, you’re starting a company because you want to do things at a level that you otherwise cannot do as an individual. That you want to create something that makes an impact. And that you want to do something that has a deeper and a bigger footprint that you cannot create. And that you will enlist the ideas, the brains, and the effort of other exceptionally talented blessed individuals, that you yourself individually cannot. Now you get the idea. And then if you do that successfully, then there are profits. And that there are more buyers than there are consumers all that but you get the idea. So this is a difficult question to answer. Now. Once you figure out these five questions. Then the elements will work. The elements like passion, faith in yourself, commitment, and determination, all these elements work. And then your perspective also becomes clearer, you become more objective. And you probably stay more positive also along the way, and you’ll also become more prudent and then you’ll have everything falling in place and you start feeling exceptional. That’s the biggest, biggest thing that is not measured. By the way, there is nothing called somebody giving an award saying yeah, you’re not exceptional. There isn’t. There isn’t that you’re feeling? And again, mediocrity is also feeling you can’t look at somebody and say, Oh, you’re mediocre. So no, I’m not. Longtime, many, many years ago, I met an individual who had nothing in his house, nothing in his house. He is the way you should dress up. But the minute he used to open his mouth, he was a saint that needs to speak. And then everybody around him people wherever he used to go, everybody used to mob him and awards recognition, everything followed and he became one of the legendary individuals that I ever met in my life. Oh, interesting. You see, so there is nothing called mediocrity such exceptional solid about how you define and how you see yourself. But then the key is to see yourself. It is the last point I want to make. And hopefully, I came across. Hopefully whatever I was thinking has come across hopefully.
See, the key is this, the key is to set high standards and work through to meet those standards. That’s the key. So if nothing else, see if you can set some high standards today for yourself, wake up early, and go to sleep early. Eat Right. Have great conversations, love everybody hug everybody. I don’t know whatever the high standards are set one high standard today and see if you can live up to it for the next 24 hours and see how the world changes around you. I tell you, it’s going to be exceptional. That’s how you know you have become exceptional. Okay, if I say anything else, I’ll be repeating myself. You see the problem doing a daily podcast, sometimes you sound you know, like a broken record. Okay, my time is up. You have an incredible day. And I will catch up with you as early as tomorrow 7 am Pacific Standard Time. Stay tuned.
