Three Keys To Success: Eliminate, Evaluate, Escape

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Today’s podcast episode is an extension of yesterday’s podcast. Yesterday on the podcast, I talked about the six goals of every life. Today, I’m just extending it. Today I’m sharing with you the three “E” formula, which has three E’s. And what are these three E’s, we’re going to talk about that.

Welcome back to Success with Srini, happy Saturday morning to you. The three E formula has three E’s in them. And the first E is to ELIMINATE. So I want you to look into everything that you have got going right now and see what all can you eliminate? Can you eliminate some emails from your inbox? Can you eliminate some clothes from your closet? Can you eliminate some stuff from your car? Can you eliminate some files from your office? Can you eliminate some books from your library that you are not reading? You have it, but you’re not doing anything with it? Can you there is another kind of elimination, but is even much more necessary is much more important than these, which is to eliminate self-imposed limitations. This is a mindset thing. What are all the things that you tell yourself? That keeps you away from your success? What separates you from the possibility? I’m not enough? I don’t have the skill. I don’t have the experience. This is not the time. I never did it. I couldn’t do it. My dad didn’t do it. My mom couldn’t do it. I don’t think I have it in me. All are the self-imposed limitations they have to go.

The second E is to EVALUATE. Look into everything that you have got going now. And see what are all the things that you are doing that take away a lot of time but do not produce the results. The more you do things that don’t produce results, the more you are keeping yourself away from the fulfillment that you’re seeking. And the majority of the time you got to evaluate the things that make you mediocre. One of the evaluations I do is this podcast. I’m like, What can I do to raise myself I know I run a mediocre podcast. I don’t run the best podcast, I don’t have the best equipment, I don’t have the best production, and I don’t have the best team. People have a lot going on in the podcasts, it will take some time to get there. But then I’m constantly evaluating. So anything, everything that you are trying to achieve that otherwise, you feel you are mediocre in it, that has to be evaluated. So that means you’re constantly collecting data, you’re constantly analyzing, and you’re constantly seeking feedback on that area. You are relentless. And you are relentlessly doing this.

The third E in these three formulas is ESCAPE. A question that you have to ask yourself is, I have this job for 10 years, someone happy I live in this house for the last 10 years, I’m unhappy, I drive this car unhappily for the last 10 years, I have this relationship, I’m unhappy for the last 10 years, whatever that is. That means the word 10 is just a metaphor to kind of draw kind of drive the intensity of the problem. But you get the idea. It could be two years for you. It could be five years for you doesn’t matter. Or it could be 20 years for you. You got to ask yourself, How long can you take this? The idea is simply that you got to escape the pain, the suffering that you have got going, and you want to arrive at a much happier place. And you have had this going on for a long time. How can escape? I have a bad job? Can I start a business? That’s an escape? I have a bad health situation going on? Can I go work out? Can I eat right? Can I sleep? Right? That’s an escape? I don’t have money. And I somehow have to make money? Can I take up another job? Or can I start investing? Or I want to become wealthy I’ve always lived poor? That’s an escape. So what can you do? Or what can you start doing today? That can make a difference in your life in such a way that you escape the situation.

So, eliminate, you evaluate escape. You know the funny thing about this formula, you are already doing this. You probably did not realize this. And I happen to be here recording this. I happen to be putting it into your device. It so happened that you are listening to this now but you, your brain unconsciously is trying to do this. Your brain is trying to eliminate things. You’ve been evaluating things your brain is trying to escape. Now that you consciously know, why not make it an agenda, why not make it a goal? Why not make it a pursuit? So that You can do this. Now, every time I do a podcast like this, and I tell people why they should do something, the immediate response I get, most of the time the response I get is “How is easy?” There is so much of information, go to youtube and search for anything today, you can learn how is easy. Why is hard. People forget why they’re doing what they’re doing. And hence whatever they’re doing doesn’t work for them anymore. Because they forgot why they started doing what they were doing. yesterday talked about this set. At every point, I think the day for yesterday on the podcast, I want to attach meaning to every step, every step, every act, every goal, obviously, but every act every action, taking up a new action in the next five or 10 minutes attaching meaning to it, why am I doing this? When you put a why then suddenly a different side of you engages the different level of conscience that gets attached to the activity. It’s amazing. When you do this that way, at that level, there is a lot more to this, but you get the idea. I want you to take some time today. And start looking into the things that you can eliminate the things that you should evaluate and the things that you should escape from. And if possible, put some timelines, put some goals, put some action items around those things.

See, we exist in times we have so much information that we can really force a change. We can really manufacture a change. And all we have to do is to build up that intent, and magic happens. Okay, that’s all for now. Whether you do or be saved and you have a question for me, text me at 888-818-0404, I’ll be back here again as early as tomorrow. Stay tuned. Bye now.

The Six Goals Of Life

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Welcome back to Success with Srini. Happy Friday morning to you. Today’s podcast episode is an inspiration that I took from a friend of mine. So this friend of mine just turned 36. So he made a post on Facebook. He said, I turned 36 today, and I’m going to share 36 lessons with you that I acquired over the last 36 years and they were profound. He’s ultra-successful in doing what he does. So I will seriously read his post. And I thought I should do something like this. And then I realized I’m not 36. And even if I say something along those lines, I miss sound repetitive. Anyway, there isn’t much I can add. And I was contemplating. And then I was going through my notes. And I found this page where I took some notes, where I said, these are the six things that everybody should do in their lifetime. So that’s the headline that I had written on this page. At that moment, I decided I’m going to take these six things, and I’m going to turn them into a podcast. Let’s get into this.

Now, this is applicable to everyone and anyone doesn’t matter if you are a professional, you are a business owner, you are a homemaker, you are a student, you are somebody who just retired, doesn’t matter applies and is applicable to everyone. So the first thing in this list is to see the purpose of life is to see is to observe is to learn as a result of seeing. So how do I translate this into my life, I want to see as many things as possible, I want to meet as many people as possible, I want to go to places so that I can learn, I can observe, I can keep on questioning my thoughts, I can keep on reframing my thoughts based on what I see, in the next moment. Tomorrow, whatever I’ll see is helping me to question what I already saw today. So one of the goals of life is to see.

The second goal should be to give. We have a lot with us, we have time to give your money to give, we have hugs to give all of us we have something that we can give away, and we can donate. So that should be one of the life goals that should be one of the purposes of life.

The third one on this list is to share. A long time ago, somebody asked me a question, he said, What’s the difference between giving and sharing this was in a seminar in a workshop. And I said well giving you something where you have something in excess, or something you have, in addition to what you already need, and you give it away. Sharing is you only have one with you, you have to share it with somebody. So you share your children, but you give your kidney away, understand the difference. So one of the goals is to also share because you don’t have to share their life becomes boring, no sharing, boring.
And the next one on the list is to grow. Growth, growth means that you experience success, you experience failure, you experience lost opportunities, you experience progress, you experience change, all that comes that has all of that in a lifetime, and at different phases, across different situations. Then comes experience, experiencing different elements of life, experiencing nature, experiencing food, experiencing relationships, and experiencing different places. Somebody thinks to experience means indulgence. Experience means that owning experience means applying ourselves and getting into it and feeling it through our mind, and soul body.

And then enjoyment got to enjoy whatever you’re doing, you got to enjoy. See numerous times on this podcast I have said this life is a happiness game. Everybody, anybody who you see is doing anything, they are in pursuit of happiness. All of us are in pursuit of happiness, as much as we deny it. And as much as you see people denying it, the truth is all of us are in pursuit of happiness. So there has to be enjoyed. And I’ve gone on to ask this multiple times, why are you in a job or in an activity that is making you unhappy? You can’t sustain it. You can’t do anything with it. It’s a matter of time before you fall apart.

And there are many techniques and strategies that I have talked about already on this podcast and also many other people who talk about how to bring enjoyment into any and everything in life. There is so much information available and there are many experts who talk about this. Try to bring happiness into any situation and also happiness which your least enjoyment has to do with what is happening within you. It’s an inside game. So, enjoyment is an important element in all this. So, the purpose of life, or the goal of life is to see, give, share, grow, experience and enjoy. And then once this is that this whole thing is in place, these six things are in place. Now go figure this out. What are the different things that you can see some people want to see everything underwater, some someone wants to see everything about the mountain, or from the mountain, different pursuits? So now you figured out what is applicable to you? How do you want to give what you want to give? How do you want to share? What do you want to share? How do you want to grow? How do you want to experience it and how do you want to enjoy it? Yeah, I could go on and on with this, but you get to the point.

Okay, I’m gonna stop here to live the Friday and all drag this out. But these six things have helped me to construct, whatever I have got going. If I specifically get into all the other elements in the list could be much bigger, as I said, but then these six should give you an idea that should give you a framework to start looking at your life and everything that you have got going at a whole different level. That’s the goal of today’s podcast. Hopefully, this helps. That’s all for now. Wherever you are, be safe, and stay tuned. Appreciate your comments. Appreciate your questions. Hate Your Job? Do This…

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Welcome back to Success with Srini. Happy Thursday morning to you. I’m off to a very interesting start this morning with the podcast. I was just getting ready to press the record button. I was positioning myself in front of the microphone, something told me that I should check the text messages. So went back and looked at my text messages. And there it is, a question from the listener of this podcast, but specifically a question about yesterday’s podcast, which was about how to write a perfect resume. So that was yesterday’s podcast episode. So this listener, heard yesterday’s podcast, and is asking me a question. And the que stion is this, “Srini? I heard your podcast yesterday. Awesome. Loved it.” Thank you. “But I’m in a very different situation. I like the paycheck I’m getting, but I hate my job. I know I cannot get better money, or a better situation than what I have got going here. What can you tell me so that I can fall back in love with my job?”

Incredible question. So I stopped my thought process and I decided that I should take up this question and record today’s podcast, and here we are. So let’s get into this. What would I tell someone who’s asking me about the job situation specifically telling me that they hate their job? What will you tell them? What can you tell them? The first and foremost is, you got to first understand whether this is an emotional response or this has any situational merit? That’s the first question I will ask. Is this just emotional or there is any situational merit? Is it real? This feeling is real in the sense that, is there a reason for you to dislike this job? Clearly, in this specific to this question, this gentleman is asking the question. Like the paycheck, like the situation, but something is amiss.

Now, if I’m talking to them, then obviously in a consultation setup, certainly, you know, I could go more deep into it and understand the real reason why this is happening. Or at least I’ll make an attempt to understand. But then knowing what I know from this question, my first line of answer is, go develop some new skills. Some new skills may not be in line with the job that you’re doing, but develop some new skills. And while you’re developing skills, not because you need to get the next job, that’s not the idea. But you are waiting for a shift to happen, the ship cannot be forced. So you develop new skills, so you get busy. But at the same time you wait for the shift to happen. That’s what I would do. And I also start becoming more active at work outside of work. So what is work outside of work, some passion, some activity, some engagement, maybe social, maybe cultural, maybe some volunteer work, something like that something that makes your existence more meaningful to you. While you are waiting for a shift to happen, these two things I would do right away. And then at some point, I will also start thinking, how can I become more creative in completing the work that my job requires now? Is there any creative way that I can get it done? Or are there any creative methods for getting the job done that I have on my hand now? So what would I do with the remainder of the time?

Let’s say there’s a creative way to get it done and I could get it done quickly. What can I do with the remainder of the time? Well, new skill development, getting busy at work, outside of work, all that. So I want to find creative ways but at the same time, I also want to get the job done quick, because you see, frustration can come in at any point in time, an hour or two at work. That’s all you have and then your mind can go in different directions. It’s very hard to control the mind specifically in a situation like this, where you already know that you’re hating the job. I would take breaks more frequently, I’ll take breaks, to do a few things.

First is I’ll take breaks to read, I’ll take some breaks to meditate, listen to music, sometimes I have taken breaks to affirm. So for example, let’s say I’m recording today’s podcast right now. And then I have a course that I’m recording then I have a radio show that I have to record I have multiple recordings going on as a part of today. That’s my schedule. It has so happened in the past that while I’m in between recordings, one recording takes away so much of my energy that I don’t have a meaning to go back and record my next recording. I take a break and I take a break to affirm not to get some oxygen not to get my blood circulation going or not to have a chit chat with others. I want to tell myself, why am I doing all this? When I do that my next recording becomes easier, or my next act becomes easier. So it’s important that you use the break to affirm to who you are and why you are doing. So this question has some level of affirmation in it. I hate my job but I like the situation. I like the paycheck, so there is some gratitude there. But we need to somehow use that gratitude to decrease this hatred and increase the love. For that, I will build a gratitude list. My gratitude list has, okay, I’m doing this because I’m getting a paycheck. It’s not about just the paycheck. What will this paycheck do to me, to my family, to my kids, to my children, to my liabilities to my responsibilities, all that I got asked that question. So in the gratitude list is time this job allows me to do what I want to do outside of this job. This job allows me to define who I am, this job gives me the experience, this job gives me the flexibility to send my kids to college and to other activities. This job allows me to put food on the table, this job allows me to stay where I’m living. This job allows me to have friends, great friends that I have at work, who I can bank on whatever, you need to have a gratitude list in place. And then when I’m done with all the above, I will start taking some time out and I’ll start focusing on becoming great at this job. See, I can’t change this job, and a leg, the situation and the leg the money. So why not I improve this job. See, earlier I said you should become creative. And also said you should become quick and fast in getting the job done. But then what if I see greatness in the job I’m doing now this is not about getting things done fast or quick. It’s about acquiring a certain level of depth, and bringing in greatness into the job.

And then one last thing I would do that I stop having negative self talk, job is hard. Every job is hard. If you look at a job as a job, it’s hard. If you look at a job as if it’s your passion, it’s a purpose. It’s your calling, then it’s easy. So there is no need for me to have a self talk that is negative, specific to the work that I have on hand. So what is work? I’ll get it done. I’ll do my best. I’ll give it all that I have within me in the time that is given to me, which is eight hours a day or 10 hours a day. And the fall I have to do I’ll do it. And then I know Yeah, I understand. So this individual who asked me this question, I didn’t get a chance to ask because this question came in so late. Based on the way this question has been framed. I know, they probably have horrendous job for a long time this individual is in the job for a long time, and maybe has taken a situation where they have gotten to a point where so frustrated that it is almost bordering with resentment, I could see it the way this question is being asked. But then when you attach meaning to any activity you are doing, that meaning comes from a good place in your heart, then any situation becomes light or lighter. Doesn’t matter how much stress there is in it. It starts to feel as if somebody has taken the weight off of you is the meaning that makes the difference.

I hope I answered your question. If not, pardon me, because this scheme so late, and I didn’t have enough time to prepare myself even though I don’t prepare as much. But then hopefully this helps. This is not about specifics. This is about a metaphor. This is about a direction. At least that’s how I positioned the answer. If this is helpful, do me a favor by to review, rate the podcast. I will try doing that tomorrow provided I don’t get a question from you. If I get a question, your question takes precedence. Your question is my priority. That’s all for now.
