Perform A Miracle Everyday – Les Giblin
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome, or welcome back to Success with Srini. Day one off a brand new month. We are on the first of May, the year 2022. Incredible. This has been an incredible journey we started on the 1st of January, every day this podcast has been running into the month of me. Personally, this is an I don’t know what to say I want to thank you for your support. Thank you for listening to everything that I’m saying here. Thank you for keeping my spirits high. Thank you for your likes, your comments, your reviews, and your sharings all that no words to express. I made a commitment to myself this morning and said, I’m going to come on the microphone. And I’m going to record one of the best podcasts that I have ever done. And to do that, I went back and looked at what I had done I’ve done so many things. And so many things are incorrect, that I looked at the best one that I’ve done. And I tell you, I found my best author, Les Giblin, his best book, How to have confidence and power in dealing with people. That’s a book that I read at a time when I was really needing it. I’ll tell you what an incredible book it is. And I did this podcast, where I talked about this book, I talked about a specific strategy in that book, which is how to give praise, and why praise is the best currency in the world. This was a while ago.
So I went back to the podcast. And I wanted to redo it and do it in such a way with a renewed understanding now. And as I’m progressing with time, I’m discovering more. So I said, I’m going to take that content, and I’m going to redo it in the best possible way. And that’s how I’m gonna start Mike today. So here I am. And here is this podcast episode. So let’s get into this. Let’s get Blinn in his book, How to have confidence and power in dealing with people says something incredible on page number 135. He says, to perform a miracle each day. Ah, profound, perform a miracle each day. He says Life itself is a miracle. And we agree life is a miracle. But then we put more life into others by simply thanking them, expressing gratitude, praising them, hugging them, and wishing them by doing these things, you increase a person’s self-image. You raise their abilities. In fact, he quotes psychologist Henry Goodall and in the page and he says, scientifically praise has been proven to increase energy in school children. So amazing. School children when they’re placed their energies go up. Talks about a specific example when students were told just before an examination, that they will have little trouble with this test. It is well within your abilities and intelligence. They made better marks than when their intelligence and ability were rundown just prior to the test. praising their ability seemed to increase their ability. See when you go around and play someone you are impeding their ability it’s amazing somebody pledges he’ll the rating your ability. Amazing.
Now, you talk about something interesting in this book, he says, you know, the American corporations and now all corporations around the world. This book was written in the 1950s. So a lot of the references from the time but then American he says American corporates have figured out a way to praise people by giving bonuses by giving titles and all that but none of that works. None of that works. Money doesn’t work. titles don’t work. Bonuses don’t work. What Works is praise. And he also gives an example of Lincoln Electric Lincoln Electric was started by James F. Lincoln an incredible entrepreneur I studied James F Lincoln and what he did back in the day back in the day, James F Lincoln, when he ran this company, he used to guarantee income like if there is a recession that it was during the World Second World War and first world war two I believe in Primal the Second World War at the time, guaranteed income to all the employees says if you are here and you’re not working and your income is guaranteed. And when good times came by James Lincoln started giving paying overtime, which was rare back in those days. So a profound entrepreneur back in the day. But he says James F. Lincoln says, And Les Gibson quotes that in this book, James F. Lincoln says, the reason why his company back in the day had 12 times more productivity than any other competitors. Because the employees were praised and treated, right. So bonus, systems don’t work. Praise works. That’s the point.
So today, when you go out, pray, some people start the day, Praising others, I promise you, you raise the ability, and you also raise your trust with them. It’s amazing. So how do we do this, and let’s give him gives six rules Hill, he put six rules on how to praise and primary one of the best praises that you can give anybody is say thank you. So just said, thank you. And he says that there are six rules, or there are six methods. He says rules, by the way, six rules of saying thank you. First and foremost is you got to be sincere when you say thank you to someone, you got to be sincere. The second rule, you got to say it, don’t mumble it. Thank you. Thank you, doesn’t work. If you want to say something, say it loud, say it clear. Say thank you. Be loud, be clear, and let your voice be heard. And Let it resound. Let it create an a, you know, an Ico right. Always say thank you by name, then you just don’t walk into meetings and say thank you all. Thank you It doesn’t work.
Unfortunately, I do that a lot on the radio because I do not know who is listening. And I do that here also on this podcast because I have no idea who’s listening. But then if I’m in a room, and maybe three or five or 10 people and I know their names, I say thank you by name, even in my events, when people have their name badges on them. When I tank at the end of my event, I say thanks to each one of the attendees whose names I can read. And if I cannot read their names, and if I happen to remember their names, during the breaks, then I take their names, but mostly when I do not know the names, then I say thank you all. But if you know the names of all the people with whom you work, and you are in a room, thank each one by the name. Next rule. When you are saying thank you look into the eyes, make the eye connection, eye contact, just look here and there. And just this means you’re saying thank you, but you are Miss directing, it just doesn’t register when you don’t look into the eyes. When you don’t make that eye contact. Then he says work the tanks. When that’s a perform one, work the tanks. When you should always look for an opportunity to say thank you. And you will always have an opportunity to say thank you. When you study when you see somebody making some moves. I’m thankful to you because I saw you do this. Or that was amazing the way you did it. Wow. You know, I tried that. And I couldn’t do it. I’ve seen others can do it. You did it. What’s the secret? When you start observing people at the deepest level, and you’re seeing the final point and how they’re getting things done, and you use that as a cue, and you kind of amplify that right on the face and you tell them Well thank you, you now you know we’ll never run out of reasons to thank someone because you did the homework. So you got to work the Thank you. When you don’t work thank you. It is going to sound superficial. And then finally he says that you need to pray to somebody when they are least expecting it.
The other day, I was talking to a friend of mine and we were discussing a bonus, you know the structure, right a new company now and he’s like the CEO of a new company and he’s like, okay, Srini What do you think how do we compensate and how do you reward the people compensation is different discussing how do you reward and he says, you know, Srini you got to reward and he says from his side he says you got to reward someone when they are least expecting it and nobody ever says no to it. cheque and unexpected cheque I have never. So I’m sure none of my new employees are going to say no. To an unexpected check. Right? I said, wow, you’re right. Let’s Gibbon said that I read that book a long time ago. Okay, so go say thank you, to people around you find a reason to say thank you be sincere, make the eye contact said when they’re not the least expecting it, and say it in a way that you’re you are heard, and they can hear it, and some other people around them can hear it. And always, always work the tanks. I don’t think I came across as firmly as I should have. But I think I started the podcast saying thank you for being a listener subscriber. Thank you for everything. And most importantly, keeping me alive through all these days, since we started this podcast back as a daily podcast, on January the first of the year 2022. It’s four months already, we are into the fifth month.
So you have no idea how thankful I am to you. Because if I don’t get a question, if I don’t get the rating, if I don’t get a review, I don’t see a download. It takes me down, takes me down. But because you are there and you’re listening, I feel motivated, I come back and do this. Listen, I do seminars or I do workshops. It’s not that I’m always motivated. I’m always inspired. I have my funk time two at a time I do question why am I doing all this? Is there any value? Am I conveying any value? I go through this, everybody goes through this. If somebody says I don’t go through this thing, that line, if we all go through this that’s given but then as a professional, as somebody aware, as somebody who understands as somebody who has a better view, because through all the effort of going through all this, you, me people like us, we should come back quickly. The idea is not to feel a sense of rejection or lack of motivation, or depression. All these are absolute states of the mind. The mind goes through all different cycles. But we just don’t stay long there because we are aware that’s the point.
Okay, I hope you are off to a great start this morning. Enjoy your Sunday, enjoy the month of May. That’s a good start for all of us. And I’m going to catch you tomorrow with another incredible book, another incredible author. Profound sayings. In his book, this book, this author, also again, I did a podcast a while ago, and I want to bring that back. And his content has been incredible. The book has been incredible. It’s the number one best-selling book since it came out in the late 60s. It’s amazing. We’ll talk about that tomorrow. Stay tuned. Bye now.

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome back to Success with Srini. Happy Saturday morning to you. Today is April 30, 2020, the last day of the month of April. And today, this podcast was completed for months, I had a goal, at the start of this year that I’m going to do this podcast every day, for the next 365 days, the entire year of the year 2022. And I’ll tell you, this, is probably one of the hardest things that I have ever done. This is turning out to be very hard. It’s hard because you do you start something you commit to a process, and then you are looking for some kind of gratification. You’re looking at the stats, you see the stats go up, go down, go up, go down. And you see for a long amount of time, the starts are not going up. When I say stats, I mean, people downloading and listening to this podcast, I see the stickiness going down, I see overall downloads going down. I look at those. And I’m like the first couple of months, I was like what is going on now, I have learned to not look at stats. And I am doing this podcast thinking now this mindset that, you know the whole world is listening to me. And I’m not worried about who’s listening who’s not listening. Maybe somebody is listening, who knows, right? Even one person listens to this. It’s great. So four months have gone by a lot of lessons along the way. And is one lesson I want to highlight today as a part of the podcast, which is my lack of time, lack of time to do this podcast. You know, there’s so much I’m under pressure because this is a public commitment. I can miss a few private things, but I cannot miss this podcast. And I don’t want to go out meet people and have interactions with this thing in the back of my mind that I have not recorded today’s podcast, I have to publish today’s podcast, it is just such a worry. And everything has taken a backseat in the face of this forecast. So that’s how I’m trying to push myself. And again, thank you for your questions. Thank you for your feedback. Thank you for being with me through the journey. And so kind of taking this as a point of success or a milestone. four-month milestone, I never thought I would survive till four months honestly, the last time I attempted a daily podcast, I was done in the second week of February, last year, this year, it has come till the end of the month, which is absolutely unbelievable to me.
You know, I look back and I look at all these podcasts. And I look at every day, every podcast episode, and I have a whole particular trail or dashboard I see in all these. And I’m like wow. Okay, that is a long journey, honestly, four months. And somehow I feel that I can complete the whole year. I feel very comfortable now where it stands as it stands. So one of the challenges is many challenges along the way. But one of the challenges was how do I find the time? Where do I find time? And for a 10 or 15 minutes podcast, I was initially planning like an hour’s worth of time. And as I went along with this, I started to tweak kind of make it tight and have better standard operating procedures to record and edit and produce and upload. And you know, all that I started realizing is that every element has a time slot of its own. So I don’t need to spend an hour recording a 15-minute podcast. If I do that, then a whole hour is gone from the day. Then when will I think about the podcast? How do I conceive? How do I develop the idea in my mind? How do you bring it out in words? So all the thinking will take an hour recording will take an hour, the whole day is gone. If you take two hours from your Prime Day, the whole day is gone. So it was hard initially to kind of find time and then once I found the time it was hard to kind of juggle everything around this. So this is for you. If you are struggling to find time I see people tell me they don’t have time to do things. I’m like, Really, you don’t. It’s just about finding the time. You just need to look at it just with you. You see.
Peter Drucker said, Time is the scarcest resource, and unless it is managed, nothing can be managed. You don’t manage time. You can’t manage people, you can’t manage projects. You can’t manage resources, resources other than people you can’t manage money, you can’t manage anything that’s performed. You can’t manage time can’t manage anything. The great dividing line between success and failure can be expressed in five words I do not have time. I hear this all the time. I do not have time. One hour to the gym, I don’t have time. Can’t wait for the morning and good afternoon. Good evening. Where do you find time? I want to share a few strategies with you today. And hopefully, this helps. Okay. And nothing, nothing new people. Other people have already talked about this. And I’m not I’m just trying to. I’m a sound as if I’m, like a broken record, like everybody has said this. So every success guru, every philosopher said this, what’s new, I’m saying nothing new. Maybe there is something new, I don’t know. TV, Internet, YouTube, Netflix, gone, you can pull some time out of it, you can pull some time out of your screen time, browsing scrolling time, internet time. You can steal some time from sleep, people sleep 910 12 hours, I don’t know why. Seven to eight. I think that’s the optimal time for sleep. If somebody needs it. Most people don’t sleep, they know they’re like, constantly getting the gets to keep stimulating their eyes with their phones anyway. So you’re sleeping less, and they’re spending more time on the devices. They give us some time from sleep. You can take some time away from unwanted meetings, unwanted road trips, going to multiple places at once, rather than going multiple times to multiple places, things like that. And you can also look into your entire day and see what other play tanks you have got going. Playtime is a time that you know what you play, you play somewhere, I don’t know what game you play. Maybe you just go around with your chit-chat you talk you just while ever the time looks into that. And that’s your playtime. You can take some time away, I’m not saying stop. That’s you. And you have every right to use your time the way you want to. But you can take some time out of it.
Now, what do you do once you get the time you’re not doing? Let’s say you’re not doing a podcast, you’re doing a radio show. You’re not creating a coaching program, let’s say let’s what I think you should do. But then I’m saying let’s say you have you know, what will you do once you have some time? What will a success-minded individual do if they get the time? Now, according to my understanding, if I somehow Could I get a little bit more time, the first thing I will do is spend the time understanding my goals. I look at my goals, I understand my goals, I relate to my goals, I attach more meaning to my goals, a little more time into my goals. If I get some more time, family, money, children, all. All of that all of them, they’re all part of those goals. Think a little bit more trouble for them and about them. The second thing I would do is I will do I would retrospect on everything that I’m doing. And I also do it backward. But I do backward so that I can build the forward which is I look into my vision also can kind of strengthen my vision a bit more and a vision board this better retrospective to create a better vision board, sprint some time on that one. Then I would meditate, do yoga or do some hypnosis, things like that. That kind of brings overall performance to the next level of self-development and then I would write so so as you This is one of the elements of my podcast recording this podcast is everything that I’m saying here I wrote down the clicker keynotes not necessarily writing the whole thing down but just some notes so that I stay in the context. So I don’t ramble. I don’t just go off track and talk about some other things and completely lose the point which I do, because I’ve too many things going on my mind. I stay honest to the point precise on your face, as I’m doing this driving appointment.
So, multiple times I have insisted here that you should write a journal that’s the best way to heal your emotion. That’s the best way to get back in your game and play the game at a higher level at a specific time when you have a lot of resentment or rejection coming at you write a journal. So these are some ideas to use. Maybe you can take it away. I’m saying I’m looking for 60 minutes but you can look for 30 minutes, or 20 minutes, all of this can be done in 20 minutes or any of one of these, any one of these can be done in 30 minutes or 20 minutes or 15 minutes. But this is about the quality of the time, you know, when somebody is looking for time, you know how constrained they are? Have, how the value of time at what, at what level, they value time. So amazing.
I want to stop here, hopefully, this is helpful. Hopefully, this gives you a frame to think to look at life look at, you know, understand this time is a man-made construct. And yet it is the only resource. It’s not about whether you know, it’s a bad time or a good time. It’s time that said, given how did use the time, that’s it, it comes down to that. Nothing more, nothing less. Okay. Again, as I wrap this up, thank you for your support and for making this podcast a four-month official four-month podcast. I will continue to push this and do my job coach, everybody, any listener, every listener who listens to this podcast or to my radio show which I call the daily coaching podcast. I don’t call this the information-sharing podcast. I don’t think anybody’s here looking for information. I think everybody’s here to attach a new and better meaning to everything that’s happening in their life and this podcast’s goal, at least my intent is to do that. To kind of get everybody to that level. And sometimes I do fall short. I think it’s okay. But I’m making an attempt to you know that.
Okay, that’s it. I’ll wrap this up the month of April 2022 over tomorrow, I want to see you and I have no idea how to raise the bar you know started the month or the raise the bar a little bit and bring in some new stuff. We’ll see. Okay, stay tuned. Appreciate your support. If you like and you love this podcast and do me a favor, just like the reviews, share it in you know, gear rating, all that okay, that’s all they get me now.
4-Thought Patterns You Have To Change ASAP
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome back, happy Friday morning to you. Today on the podcast, we are talking about thought patterns that have to change, to experience a richer life in general, for thought patterns. Now, these thought patterns are interfering they interfere with our existence. Now you’re a success-minded individual because you are a listener of this podcast. So you listen to this, and you also listen to other podcasts. So you probably are aware of this, you might have heard this before. And there’s also a possibility that I might have already spoken about this in the past. Either way, I think you will benefit from this. So let’s get into this started with the first thought pattern, the first one, sometimes, you might have experienced this, where you said, I can be only happy. If I get this done. Kind of setting criteria to become happy. So I’ll do this, then I’ll become happy. It’s like deferring happiness. So what happens in the scenario is, that you are getting something, you achieve it, and then you go back and set one more thing. And one more thing and the process continues. So that happiness that which, eventually is the thing that has to happen, never happens. So it’s okay to be happy while dealing with issues. It’s okay to be happy while facing challenges. Happiness doesn’t need to be stacked to the far end of life, which most people do. So that’s the first thought pattern that has to change. The second one. Why can’t I do anything? Right? Why can’t I do anything right? No matter what I touch, doesn’t work. I’ve been at it for five years, 10 years.
A long time ago, I heard this, I don’t know who said this. Failures are portals of self-discovery. Very profound, saying failures are portals of self-discovery. See, the more you do something, the more you experiment, the higher the chances are that that experiment won’t work. And those are failures. But then again, there is no other way to get to that success, the only way to get there is to go through this. So just to think that why nothing is happening. In other words, it’s about to happen, you have to pay this price, and you have to go through this process to get to the outcome. So as long as you have the belief, and as long as you have that in your line of thinking that whatever I’m doing will add up, will eventually add up. And it’s just a matter of time, some people in for some, it adds up very quickly. But for me, it’s going to add up and just a matter of time. That’s the thought process here. That’s the change.
The third one is why things only happen to me. This is another thought pattern, why things only happen to me every misfortune with me, every setback with me, every challenge with me. Now, the counter to this is if you look at life, and doesn’t matter how long you are here. If you take anybody’s life, take somebody who is famous, like Leo Tolstoy, or Socrates or Aristotle and whoever you want to take people who are known worldwide, you take a life and you start analyzing that life from the beginning to the end, you see that their life is balanced. Even though the ending was bad, or maybe the beginning was bad. And at the moment, they had the joy, the success, whatever they did, so there is life balances itself out. It’s not that things are only happening to you. Things happen to everyone. It’s not that misfortune is looking to just get you don’t work that way. So life balances itself out. You need to give life a chance. The last one is I will do this tomorrow. I don’t want to harp on this point. Because this is procrastination. This is dangerous for any level of success. And regardless of where you come from, what books have you, you have read and whatever way you were raised, you might have heard this, anything that you want to do tomorrow, do it today anything that you want to do today. You got to do it now might have heard this. And so, no matter you could be immensely gifted, you may have so many talents. You may have got a lot going for you, I’ll tell you, there is no substitute for discipline. So if you procrastinate, that means you are challenging the very essence of the word discipline, you don’t have the discipline to. So in the long run, it’s going to hurt. In the short term, it may work out you may, with more power with him with more vigor, maybe you can overcome a few things, and you still be okay. But in the long run, procrastination is going to get you. And several years from now, you’ll start to see the gaps. You see the world where it is, and you see where you are.
So if I have to point out a few things that I learned through my journey, and my process, procrastination is one thing that I laziness, but procrastination is not laziness is gone. Procrastination still comes in up occasionally. And then I fight with it. So there is no tomorrow. Nobody has a tomorrow. Is this the truth? Nobody knows. So these four thought patterns, there are more, there is a wide array of thought patterns. But these four can quickly change the landscape very quickly. So I’m always aware of these four in everything that I do. And I’m constantly fighting this. That’s it for today. Don’t want to go any further. Okay.
Hopefully, this is helpful. If days, you know what to do. Okay. Have a wonderful weekend. But I’ll be here tomorrow. And tomorrow is a good one. I’m thinking I’m already thinking about what I’m going to do tomorrow. Okay. It’s going to be an incredible time strategy, and we’ll be sharing it with you tomorrow. So I want to double up the talk a little bit more today. And little more than tomorrow. I’m going to record so it’s gonna be fun. Okay, stay tuned.
