3-Secrets To More Happiness, Success & Joy
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Yesterday on the podcast, we talked about three productivity hacks that will help you get more things done in less amount of time. As a part of that, I said, the focus is the key. Today on the podcast, we’re talking about three life hacks, if done, right, will increase your success, your joy, your happiness, your fulfillment, in all aspects of your life, a very Happy Thursday morning to you welcome back to success with the training. Now, before I jump into the content, I want to start out by saying, Remember the Pareto principle, the 80/20 principle 80% of the effect is caused by 20% Of course, 80% of the effect, and 20% Of course, if you translate that into any aspect of life, let’s translate that into business 80% of your revenues are coming from 20% of sales 80% of your products are generating 20% of your revenues. Like I was saying that was it and I said this okay. So 20% of your products are generating 80% of revenue, see, at 20 it all it goes, you know, the exact opposite happens. So 20% of your success is coming from 80% of your efforts. Okay, so 20% of success comes from 80% of your effect. Ideally, you should be generating 80% of your success and 40% of your effort. Ideally, how do we turn this around?
This is where focus comes in. Too many distractions, too many challenges, too many interruptions, too many shoes, life is complex. So how can you put in the minimum required and generate the maximum outcome? That’s the pursuit here. And you need to be doing this automatically, like in the flow just like it’s happening? Doesn’t matter? How do you get to that state? The first and foremost thing is people tell you to read books, and go to seminars, and workshops. Discover yourself, I do that I say that, on this podcast, and also everywhere else. The truth is this, nothing will improve unless you improve. And that is why we say what we say I say they say everybody says your parents said back to you, your teacher said that to you, everybody told you, you got to develop yourself. That’s the start number one, your development. Whatever you have got going right now in your life has to be developed has to be improved. Anything, everything that you’re doing has to develop those there is not a point where you can say, I got here I can rest. You got to keep on looking for opportunities to develop yourself. That’s step number one.
Step number two is you got to develop people around you. This is not a lonely game anymore. You can’t achieve it. Whatever you want to achieve, playing it alone, and nobody’s self-made. Everybody is made through the contributions and through the support of many people. So once you got a position right now, where you’re trying to create some professional success, or some business success or financial success, whatever success you’re trying to create, you need people and you’ve got to develop people. So try to replicate yourself. If there is a way, try to go find people who have the talents and skills to support you find some gaps in whatever you’re doing, and see how you can fill them with some additional talent, if you can. So the focus has to go up. To do that you have to develop yourself, and then you have to develop the people around you. That’s the first part. The second part of this is fighting. Let me expand on this. If you see somebody struggling, we all struggle. If I look into my own struggle, I see fights everywhere. I’m having these small little fights, here and there.
Now I know I have to win those fights to succeed. I know that I think you also know that there is nothing new I’m telling you. The problem is this. People are so consumed by the small fights. They either don’t understand the bigger fight or by the time they really graduate through the smaller fights. They’re like, I don’t know how to fight the big one. That’s the challenge. So multiple small fights. Jim Rohn talks about this He says Don’t major on minor things. Don’t major, in the minor things. So go find the big fight and fight the big fight. When you fight the big fight, you move the line. And the third in the discussion is force. people set goals, people chase goals. If the goal is right, the goal should pull you. And in a hurry to get to the outcome, people take shortcuts. The key is not to get to the outcome. The key is to force a change. If you force the change, you’re automatically creating the outcome by forcing yourself to the outcome. You’re missing the lesson in the process. Most people I’m not saying you but most people do. I did it multiple times. So focus, fight force. See if you can make some modifications today in anything and everything you’re doing. See if you can identify some fights that you can eliminate or get rid of and start or identify a bigger fight that you want to take on. See where you can apply force. And, most importantly, what can you do to develop yourself so that you attain higher focus?
I hope today’s podcast is helpful. If it is do me a favor, write a review, date it, and share it with a friend or somebody who you think will benefit from this. I’ll be back again tomorrow. And I’m gonna expand a little bit more on this. So that’s all for now. Be safe.
3-Productivity Hacks For Getting More Done In Less Time
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
You’re gonna love today’s podcast. Welcome back to success for Srini. Happy Wednesday morning to you. I’ll keep it simple. I’ll keep it precise to the point. Listen, you want to do more things in less time? Then this podcast is going to make sense. More things in less time. Who doesn’t want to do more things in less time? I wish I could do that. I could do a 20-minute podcast in less than two minutes. Maybe possible using ai, ai voice AI algorithms? Maybe it’s possible, but not really. As of now? No. Okay, I still need to record myself I need to speak and do this. Okay, you got to the point.
I want to share three productivity hacks with you today on the show that are going to help you accelerate anything that you’re doing. Here’s what we know. In order to do things much faster in less time, you need to have intense focus, you need to work on your focus. And the only way to increase focus that is through the brain, Genesis neuroplasticity, which means the way the neurons work, they can be trained to work, which means you can train the brain to increase your focus. And there are different tools and techniques to do that meditation helps you hear me talk about it hypnosis, for sure. All that is great. But then there are also things that can be done outside of all this, which will increase focus.
Now, what are the enemies of focus, let’s talk about them, what hinders focus? Well, clearly, distractions, you eliminate distractions, automatically, you increase focus, you operate from a structure. That means it will enhance focus, so you’re focused when you operate on the structure. So numerous times on this podcast, I talked about working with lists, planning the day before the night, or planning the day, the night before. And having monthly weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi yearly goals, and all that. And in the carrier, you need to have that and then you go into specific areas, and each area needs to have its own plan in place. So collectively, as an individual, you’re going to win, and you win in multiple areas of life. So don’t multiple podcasts on this concept on this topic. But I want to share three things today that are very dominant on my mind. The first and foremost thing is using limits. For everything I do, I have a time limit. This podcast has a time limit. This podcast has a date when it will be published which is today you know once this is done recorded, usually one tape recording and no edits. As such, there is an intro there’s an outro. I just press the record button, I record myself, that’s all I do. There is no prep work involved with this. This has a start time this has an end time is this has a processing time this has an upload time. And this has been transcript time all that time. Understood already. So can I precisely time this, I don’t I do not? But I have a time slot for this, which is I’ll record my podcast in under 10 or maybe 15 minutes. never gone beyond 15 minutes, as far as I know in recent times. So this podcast today may be for 10 minutes, maybe for short, under 15 minutes. So I have that scheduled and so I have a time limit. So everything you do should have a time limit. And I do sometimes multiple recordings on different topics altogether, sometimes for webinars, sometimes two for a radio ad, and all that. So I schedule time, sometimes 15 minutes, 15 minutes, I’ll get as many as things done. And I have 15 minutes of audio time already set on my schedule, every day, every other day. And you could set it up for 15 minutes so that you can take a 10-minute rest or you can set up a 25-minute duration and take a five-minute break. And I talked about this very early on at the beginning of this year. I talked about the time block planner, I talked about Cal Newport and his approach to doing this. And I suggest that you go back to the first of January of 2022 and listen to the early podcast on setting goals and specifically structuring tasks and getting things done. Okay, so, time limit. The Case in point, at least for today’s podcast is you got to have a time limit on everything that you’re doing. Okay.
Now, the second part, the second step to productivity is you got to close things. Don’t leave it open. Close. This close example applies to many different aspects of our life. And one aspect of our life is this, if I record this podcast, this is an example, I recorded this podcast I need to edit. Edit means to put an intro put an outro, right, get it transcribed, and get it, the image, the art clipart done for the podcast and recorded and released, sometimes by 7 am, the morning like maybe 10 am In the morning, done and published on the website, right after that, at the same time. Awesome, if you think about it, the process, so I need to close the loop, while I’m also having a time limit. So I cannot leave the loop open. I cannot say that I get to publish the podcast on iTunes. But then I’m going to upload the podcast tomorrow on my website can’t happen like that. It’s not a closed process. And I do close it once whatever I start.
Now, sometimes there are false closes. Sometimes you feel like your podcast recording is podcast recording podcast recording has no end value unless it is published and reaches you. It has no value I recorded leaving it on my laptop, what’s the point. So be careful with false closes in any process that you are engaged in right now. Also, you got to close out things that are distracting you that are taking your attention away. So there was a research done, an average employee opens and Claudius apps 1100 times in a day at work 18 hours toggling between tabs in your browser 18 hours a week, I think, oh, sorry, a month or something like that. So overall 160 hours a year of toggling between tabs of the browser tabs crazy, you start looking at data like this. So close is important. Close the process, but closeout things that are not helping you while you’re in the process. The third productivity hack is a pause. Pause. I press the record button here. I’m recording. I don’t get my ideas, right. I don’t get my communication, right. I don’t get my words, right. I don’t get my intent. Right happens. I pause I go come back. I have to pause. I don’t want to put a mediocre, half-baked in some water here some board there kind of a podcast I cannot do it. Got to be honest with me. At least from my side, I need to put the best effort in you listen to this and you don’t like it, I get it. But at least I need to feel good when I leave the microphone. I need to feel good about myself and what I have done. Not doing it is not dialed in. I’m not dialed in, people can’t I have somebody who I coach now started coaching people how to do radio shows and podcasts. And I’ve been doing that for a while. But then the podcast just got added just now. And the contract for podcasts. They just cannot record they cannot record because they don’t know. You see.
Somebody says I don’t know what to speak. That means they don’t know what they’re speaking about. It’s not a language, it’s not about words. It’s not about none. See, it’s easy for somebody to speak about something when they know it. And they know the topic they know the subject. See if I fabricate let’s say if I come here and say I just want to speak something because I have a podcast that’s called fatigue. You will figure out that I’m not coming from the right place. happened before I’m telling you from experience. See so things are not working pause, go take a break, come back, and pausing is breathing pausing is energy pausing is the recalibration pausing is starting again. And going back to the start line again to kind of take that plunge again or take that trajectory so to speak. So limiting calls to pause three things will increase your focus. And, but just with these three things, you can get more things done in less time.
Okay, under 12 minutes now, with the intro and outro hopefully, we’re done. Done with the podcast today. Thank you for listening. Hopefully, this is helpful if it does me a favor write a review and rate the podcast and share it with a friend or a family member. And you have a question for me. I’m here always for you. That’s all for now take care. Bye.
Want Your Partner To Change? Then Do This…
Here is the complete transcript of the podcast
Welcome back happy Tuesday morning to you. This morning, I woke up to a long email from an old listener of my radio shows. And this long email, if I have to sum it up in one line, it goes like this. I’m trying to get some help for my spouse, I have been telling my spouse to talk to you. And for some reason, it has not happened. And would it be okay for you to talk to my spouse? Because my spouse needs help? And I know you can help. Okay, so that’s the email. And my response to that email is No, I am willing to help, I’m open to help, I’m here to help. But I will not talk to your spouse, without them agreeing to talk to me, I will not make that call, they have to make that call. Okay. So that’s the response to that email. But let me expand on this a bit and give you the context. Every time I get an email like that. I know there are maybe several other people who can be 5060 every one email that I get or every one phone call I get on this topic, I have maybe 50-60 listeners who probably are going through this and they are not making the call. So if you are going through this challenge, you know that your partner needs help, but somehow does not agree to help. Then what can you do, or do you know somebody who’s going through this on my agenda, my goal for today’s podcast is to kind of share some thoughts and help you kind of get you closer to the outcome, okay.
Now, in any relationship, there are two people, two people, and when two people come together, there are some boundaries. And there are some rules. And there are some expectations. As long as each individual in that relationship is following the rules, keeping themselves within the boundaries and not crossing the boundaries, and fulfilling the other person’s expectations, there is harmony, there is goodwill, all that is harmony, when any of these things go wrong, then we have a conflict. And if it goes on for a long time, then we have a challenge that needs to be addressed. Every time somebody reaches out like this, that means they have already exhausted, they have exhausted all the options, and they now need external help. So by default, as our body heals itself, likewise, our mind also heals itself. There are default mechanisms to heal and one of the healing mechanisms the mind has is sleep, it sleeps, whatever number of hours the body is active, that many numbers of hours more or less. The mind sleeps, the brain sleeps.
So there are healing mechanisms also inbuilt into a relationship dynamic. In this specific situation, what’s happening is one partner is struggling. The other partner sees the struggle and wants to do something so that this partner, the other partner, who is suffering will meet this partner’s needs. It’s as simple as that. And we don’t know the problem yet. That’s a whole different discussion altogether. That involves some discovery and all that. But we can’t get into a strategy unless we discover the problem. So I’m not suggesting a strategy. So the question is, how can I get my spouse or my partner to therapy if they need help. Now, let’s say you’re going through this right now you want your partner to be in therapy, what can you do? Well, there are some things that you have to do on your side and something that you have to do for your partner. Now what all do you have to do on your side? Let’s go through that list. Number one is that you need to understand therapy is a long process.
therapy will bring up lots of other issues. In good therapy, a lot of other issues will come up you need to agree to a timeline, an extended timeline. That means there might be investment involved with it apart from time investment, money investment, obviously. And then results are not instantaneous because there are more people involved.
Now usually when two people are in a relationship that also a relationship another shadow individual is somebody, you know, who accepts your beliefs and your values into their life. That means they’re also accepting your disbeliefs and your other values, which don’t make sense to them in life too. So there aren’t many. And then obviously, when two people come together, they bring all other relationships also with them together. So it’s a complicated thing to go into therapy, all these things come up, suddenly, a relationship therapy could become a family therapy, extended family therapy, and there are specific therapists who specialize in that space, not all, but some do. Now, you should be getting ready to explore more options beyond just a single therapy, or a single consult. Because now you have other extended family members who have to be involved in this, they need to be called in. It has to be resolved at a family level, extended family level. So that’s your site, and you need to agree to all this. And then maybe you’re also responsible for your spouse’s behavior. what all are the things you do? How much have you participated in the conflict? And did you instigate the conflict? Did you start the con, maybe, unknowingly, you did? But that also will come up. So you need to understand your role in this. Now, what will you do to your spouse to your partner? Well, first of all, you need to convey love affection, and all that that has to continue to stay, even though there are attacks, you need to use a line of love, compassion, and affection, that line has to be on it has to be alive. That part you have to do.
Now the second part you have to do is that you have to show a willingness to participate, it’s not your problem, it is our problem. It’s a collective problem. And then you test the therapy process, not necessarily subscribe to the therapy process, like anything else you’re testing. So you go to one therapist and expect them to fix it. Not possible. Sometimes I’ve seen that partners disagree with the kind of therapy, to begin with, and then who the therapist is. The truth is, a therapist should be independent and should have no affiliation with either of the partners. As the first part, the second part, just because you heard me on the radio, and you’re suggesting doesn’t make any sense. Doesn’t make any sense. And because you are trying to change someone, you need to go see a therapist, which is not going to work. In order to change someone, you have to change yourself. Specifically true in core relationships. If I’m looking for a change in you, I need to change myself. So it holds true in this dynamic to was a podcast host or as a coach or as a mentor, whatever role I’m playing from my side, at least I’m thinking I am I for me to see a change in you I need to change, I need to bring in some more ideas, more thoughts, I need to develop myself. If I don’t develop myself, I don’t see that in you. Simple as that. So, change is just something to change, we have to change. So why not start with ourselves first. So, in this case, both have to change and both have to willingly participate in this. So if it is made to be a collective problem, there is participation. If it is made to be a community problem, there is participation. If it is made to be your problem, then no they will not accept it. That’s how simple this is. So my response was, that you can’t change someone unless they are willing to change.
You can’t change an individual or a group of individuals if collectively, or singularly they don’t want to change. So therapies work. And I made an entire podcast on this and they said this is not about strategy as much as it is. And individuals in a relationship struggle because they feel that they don’t have a way out. They don’t have a technique. It’s actually the real kinship itself is struggling not and it’s showing up in the in, in the individual’s involvement in it. But if you really think through and you strategize collectively, then there is always a way out of it. And sometimes your partner may take some time to catch up, and you have to allow that time to happen, you need to give that time for them to catch up. Just because, you know, in relationships, we have seen one individual, philosophically more aggressive, and philosophy more advanced, one individual financially, more advanced one and career-wise, more advanced, but you, they need to give time for the other partner to catch up. And because this is a union of collectiveness, and collectively want to get to the finish line, and you can’t score goals on each other, right, because you have to score the goals from the opposition. So you’re not on the opposing teams, you’re on the same team. So these are some of the frames through which you should approach your partner. And tell them how you see the game played, and explain to them the game and how it has to be approached. And then give them the time for them to participate. Don’t push, don’t rush, we cannot trust the outcomes. Nobody can. And just because you showed up at one therapist doesn’t mean you found the solution. And you can’t outsource this. And it’s just not the technique or just not the education or the credential. So therapist that’s going to help. It’s about your involvement in the process. And what else can you do beyond just showing up in a consultation? are important. Okay. That’s all those are the thoughts?
Hopefully, this is helpful. And if it is, then I keep saying, Keep repeating myself. Read it, write a review. Share this with a friend, or a family member. And you have a question for me. 888-818-0404 is the number where you can reach me. You can call me and leave me a message.
