How to Adopt an Attitude for Success

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Happy Friday morning to you. Welcome back to Success with Srini. So we can, I’m going to keep today’s podcast to the point precise and short. Today we’re talking about some success hindering habits that are surprisingly common, yet insanely ingrained into our existence, preventing us from attaining any level of success that we are in pursuit of.

They’re so common, you will be amazed if I start telling you what these are, we will be amazed how common these are. And as you start hearing me say this, I want you to assess yourself and give some thought. And you will start to see that you are guilty already. Okay, these habits you are fostering within you? I am. That’s why I’m saying this.

The first one is self-doubt. It’s a big one. The worst thing that could happen to any performer is they suddenly stop and question their self-worth. I’ve seen this happen to players. I’ve seen this happen to big performance music, musicians, I mean, writers have seen this across the board. You see them happening, you see them successful, and suddenly something happens to them, and they’re gone. They’re gone in their early 20s, early 30s. They have a huge career ahead of them. And usually nothing, nothing there. It’s just that they question who they are, and they’re dropped off. Carriers vanished. I’ve seen this happen to coaches, as mentors, coaches, trainers, somewhere deep within the have this thing where, what if everything that I’m doing, has no substance. Like I’m doing this for the sake of doing it, the imposter syndrome kicks in all the time. I suffered from imposter syndrome very early on. I keep my senses very aware what if it kicks in? It could it does. See, to overcome this, you got to believe that everything that is happening to you is because you’re capable of making it happen. Everything that’s happened to you is because of your capacity, your capability. And that everything that you have is because you paid for it through blood, sweat, tears, you worked for it. So you deserve everything that you have every outcome you have, is because you deserve.

The next one is procrastination. This is a big one. We all procrastinate. No matter how many seminars I do, how many workshops I do, it happens, it happens. It’s the mind, it happens you I wake up and I say I want to do this today. And this is my plan. This is my schedule. I want to do this. But then something interferes in the mindset, oh, I need to I need to do a few other things before I do this. Some other opportunity shows up and the shiny object, then I need to go after that one. And I stopped doing what I’m doing happens to me all the time. Sometimes my own mindset wherein I say, maybe I don’t have the information, maybe I need to read a little bit more or talk to a few people before I do. And then all this thinking, all these interferences. Essentially I’m procrastinating I’m not doing the thing that matters the most. The most important thing is the most important thing. The thing that we all have to do is the most important thing on a given day and rest can be done. But the most important thing has to be done. The most important thing is not to forget the most important thing. Procrastination is a big hindrance to success.

And then the disorganization and how many times you have set goals for yourself, you know you need to do them you know you have them prioritized and you wake up in the morning. Just because you know you woke up 10 minutes late now you’re behind on a few other things and then you don’t know what happened to the whole day. And next thing you know, you didn’t work on anything. Goals are attainable, they were set by you. Because there is no real plan or you had a misplaced plan. You end up missing them, you end up missing out. So disorganization is a big one.

And then the last one is a focus. Lost Focus. Focus. I don’t know I mean, I have read most of the books that I studied very early on in my journey to understand self-improvement was on focus. The book that changed my life is the power of focus. By Mark Victor Hansen. Jack Canfield and the less you get incredible book changed my life. It’s very simple. If you don’t become serious about what you want to achieve. You won’t make it your priority. Then it’s the last game. Whatever thing you are really good at. The reason why you’re good at something is that you gave it a priority you gave it focus, you gave it time you gave it effort. And the reason why other things are not happening in your life is that you did not give the same level of time focus energy to other things. So if you shift your focus, success happens. As simple as that. So lost focus is a big one. So I don’t know which way to arrange all this. Should I take focus first, or should I take disorganization first? Or should I take procrastination first, self-doubt, all these things, each one of them is capable of completely derailing you from where you are heading. All of them in some proportion could derail you, or a combination of any of two or more could derail you. The question is this. All you have to do is adopt an attitude for success.

That’s the key message in all this regard to adopting an attitude for success. When you do this, you implicitly throw away the negative habits that hinder your journey to success. I hope that this podcast is helpful if I say any more than what I just said. I think I’m I’m repeating myself. I’m going to stop here you go. Enjoy your weekend. And I’ll be here tomorrow morning with another podcast episode. That’s all for now. Take care. Bye.

How To Translate Your Intentions Into Actions

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

All through this life, you meant to do a lot of things. You wanted to get involved with certain kinds of work, wanted to live in a certain area, might have wanted to focus on certain hobbies and certain activities. But along the way, every time you wanted to do something, life intervened. It prevented you from doing what you always thought you wanted to do. If that is who you are, today’s podcast episode is for you.

This is the Success with Srini podcast, I’m here every day. The idea behind this podcast is to coach you on a daily basis. So every day a fresh episode that I record. My idea is that I want you to stay focused and aligned with your goals and objectives. What can you do? How can you get over this thing? Where in your thinking all the time that you wish you could have done this, you wish you could have done that? And it’s not a good feeling to have? It’s not a good conversation to have in the mind. So how do we overcome this? We start with the mind. Instead of saying I wanted to do this all my life, I should have done this, I should have done that. I don’t know what happened. Instead of having this conversation, I wanted you to shift the conversation in your mind. I wanted to start by saying I couldn’t do this. I understand. But what can I do today? How do I get going with this? I always wanted to do this. But now that I have not done it? What can I do today to get started with this? So very powerful question.

When you say, you take ownership of what has happened or has not happened to you in the past, you start taking ownership of every minute, you’re going to have to start now. It’s a very powerful affirmation right there. Now let’s talk about some action strategies that will inspire you to start fulfilling your dreams. The first and the foremost is I’ve wanted to pick maybe two or three desires you have or you had in the past three desires. And I want you to start putting a plan around this, like, what can I do starting today, for these three things, maybe for five or 10 minutes a day. That’s the start. So timewise, maybe 5-10 minutes, these three things that from the past that I had, I wanted to do, I will start that starting today, I’m going to give 5-10 minutes. And I’m going to space them out throughout the day and see what happens over the next 30, 60, or 90 days.

So you take three things, you set them over the next 30, 60 90 days. Every 30 days, you do a status check, you want to find out how you’re doing. But that comes later. The most important part is giving that five or 10 minutes every day to that one desire you had from the past. So I want you to pick three. Now, I want you to stay focused on this. There will be interferences, there will be some other random thoughts. Because you have programmed your mind for a long amount of time that these things have not happened, they don’t probably have any relevance in your life anymore. Those things will come in, but your job is to stay focused on how you can get it done every five or 10 minutes a day. The rest of the day, you can keep on thinking, you know, I wish I could have done this, I could have done that. That’s okay, that feeling, it takes time for that to go away. But then typically it goes away in about 60 days, 60 days, for sure. 30 days, you start seeing those feelings go away.

Now, one of the other things you have to have in your mind is you need to for sure have this conviction that if you do this over the next 90 days, then you’re going to surprise yourself. That’s the conviction with which you start or the next 90 days if I pursue the last three desires. And I stick to a plan or daily plan three goals 10 minutes a day. And I do that over the next 90 days. I know I’m going to surprise myself. When you surprise yourself. Guess what you’re surprising the world, the world will see you. Okay? Now, I want you to understand that every time we take on something doesn’t matter small or big.

It’s hard. Change is hard. Change is hard and changes that are being forced by you. When you can see a change is hard because it needs effort. It needs time. Everything is hard. And that’s why people don’t succeed. And that’s why if success was easy, everybody on the street would be successful. I shouldn’t be saying that. But you and you know, that’s the point everybody would be successful. Success is hard. It takes effort, time, and a lot of resources, and above all an incredible mindset. So As you’re pursuing these three things, over the next 90 days, understand that you got to become flexible. You got to become flexible. If something has to be changed, you are willing to change. If something has to be switched, it has to be switched. If something has to move, it has to move. But as long as you’re making progress, as long as there is forward momentum, that’s all there is to this. 90 days may become 180 days, it’s okay. 30 days may not be 30 days, it could be more, it’s okay. It’s fine.

Now, as long as you have this kind of flexibility, it’s not like I started I heard Srini talk about this on his podcast, I started doing this 30 days have gone by 60 days have gone by 90 days have gone by nothing happened. I think all this thing is nonsense. This has happened to me, I have suggested people do things. And they came back and told me that you know, my suggestion was incorrect. Well, my suggestion is not incorrect. The way the suggestion was taken, and the way the suggestion was acted upon were incorrect. See, life, in general, gives guidance, people give guidance. But we are not the guides who are next with you living your life, nobody is living your life, you are living your life. So you have absolute accountability to yourself, than anybody else.

Honestly, this is you, this is your life. This is your own reflection of you that you can see. And then you calibrate with things that you are doing. Flexibility is important. And I have repeatedly said this on this podcast, the most flexible individual in the room is the winner, not the individual with force, not the individual with the loudest voice, not the individual with the highest and biggest connections or with more money, the individual who has the highest amount of flexibility is the winner in the room. And finally, find that this is the last one. Your language is important. In anything, your language is important. I did multiple podcasts starting earlier in the month of January and part of February also. So if you just go back a few episodes, you can see why how our words shape our destiny, how our words shape our habits, or what shape or character or words literally shape or life. So languaging is important. Always I wanted to do this. Like, you change that language. And you start saying, I have started to do this. Now that I’ve started to do this, let me save their discourse.

Every time we talk to anyone, please use the right words and write phrases and make your intent. obvious to them. I’m doing this, I see this happening. I see the positives in all this. I know I should have done this many, many years ago. But now that I’ve started, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. These are some not exactly this is the way you have to say it. But you get the idea. You need to position your intent and make it obvious to people around you. Primarily the people who you care for and you love in your core relationships. Now, there is a core underlying message in all this. The messages you have the time, the resources, the mind, and everything within your reach. To get anything done. All you have to do is stop the conversation in your mind. That means you stop talking and start doing. If you start doing magic happens, the biggest challenge I have as a coach is getting people to start doing things. Because once they start doing things, there is momentum, it takes care of itself. So you got to set the rock, give that force and start creating that momentum once it’s there. Once it’s inflow, it’s going to take its own momentum. That’s the key to this.

How To Master Major Life Transitions

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Welcome back to Success with Srini. Today’s podcast episode is based on an interesting conversation I had with a couple recently. And very interesting conversation because they were reaching out on a problem that is nonexistent. It has not happened yet. Very interesting. So their question was, “this is our career, this is the amount of money we have, these are our liabilities. This is our credit, this is our debit, whatever. And we are planning to have a baby because we are already three years into the marriage, and it’s just about time to build a family should we have? Should we Is this the right time to have a kid? And if we do, then what changes do we need to make financially to make this a good experience for ourselves and for the kid?”

It was an incredible question. And the reason why I’m sharing this, this experience of this consultation, or the Cliff Notes from this consultation here today on this podcast is because you may not be having a kid. But you may have a life transition on your hands right now. Maybe you’re moving a house, maybe you’re getting married, maybe you are experiencing some turbulence in your relationships, and you want to change the status. Or maybe you got a new job, maybe you have to move cities, or you’re switching careers. Or you’re dealing with a parent, or an elderly individual’s loss in your life, God forbid, and maybe nothing, none of the above. Maybe you’re just having a friend, a close friend who just moved, and you’re dealing with the loss or a friend moving away, or the vacuum that you’re dealing with whatever it is, the question becomes is how do you plan these changes?

These transitions, we call them, how do we deal with them? Because our response matters, how we respond to these things matters. So it was an interesting conversation. So it’s amazing men and young people, young couples that reach out and ask this kind of question. I wish I was this aware when I was starting my journey. I wish I was this aware. I can’t go back in time, cannot go back in time. Okay. The point is, you got to plan ahead. Whatever you’re thinking about whatever you’re trying to do, if you think it’s going to trigger a transition, you’ve got to plan it ahead in time as much as possible, literally have to schedule this. Planning is important. Now, that’s step one. Step two to this is you got to also understand the space in between transitions, there could be two or three things going on in your life. You want to buy a new house also you want to change a job. How do you space this? Right spacing is important. Sometimes you have to give three months, six months a year. Sometimes timing is not the issue. It’s not about the duration between spacing these transitions. It’s about the focus, the energy that goes into it is also important. Sometimes I’ve seen when people plan, they also undo the things that they have already been doing.

Amazing example, some time ago, I have a dentist friend of mine. She told me something very interesting. He said, no matter what happens. The first thing people do they stop flossing. So it’s an interesting observation. So something happens, nothing to do with flossing but stop flossing. And they never go back to flossing till they go to the dentist back on the six months routine widget very interesting. So people stopped their routines when they are about to take on something new routines are important. Routines mean that you have a structure in place, you can’t stop your routine from just going on and taking on a new transition in a different time and space happening to you. So there is a different allocation in your mind, you cannot stop what is going on. Very important.

Now, sometimes you’ve got to give yourself a solid downtime before you take on the transition. So that’s when people take vacations, they go on, they shut themselves down, they completely withdraw themselves away from everything that’s happening for two or three weeks and four weeks and come back and take charge. So before you take charge, you have to take off. One other side note on this. Sometimes it’s important that you engage in something that you love, not necessarily a vacation, like a hobby or something. You go very deep into it and then detach and go start taking over the transition. And my final comment on this is you need to reach out for some help and support. And there are multiple different coaches that are multiple different networks and support systems and interviews. You’re specialized individuals who can help you with a specific transition. You got to reach out to them. The point is, every transition has to be seamless. It has to feel as if it’s a routine. It’s just one other thing that’s happening in your life. That’s how seamless this should be.

I hope this is helpful. I thought that this is going to be helpful. And that’s my expectation as I’m doing this podcast. If it is, then drop me a comment, write me a review, share it. Okay, stay tuned. And tomorrow I’m going to take up another topic and we’ll go deep. Okay, why now?
