How To Hire A Mentor

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Has it ever happened to you that something that you had been doing for a long amount of time, maybe 10, 15, 20 years, you wake up one morning, and you realize that everything that you had been doing for all these years, is not valid anymore? I’m not sure if you had this epiphany or this experience ever. I had once gone through this one time, I woke up one morning to realize what a big blunder I have done. With my years and years of understanding of a topic that is no more true. It’s completely incorrect. Not necessarily the idea of the knowledge, but the approach was completely incorrect, I could have approached it differently, and had a different outcome bigger and much more rewarding outcome, than the way I did it for a long time. Okay, here is how it goes.

This is, you know, I’m shivering as I’m doing this, okay. That’s how profound This is. Every time somebody has a problem, the first thing they do is try to fight it. And once they realize they cannot fight it anymore, they want to solve it. And first, they try to solve its force, then they will try to solve it with knowledge. And the only source of knowledge that we have been told by our parents and teachers is to read a book. So they go buy a book or borrow a book to solve the problem. So you have money problems, you want to explore how to make more money by getting a book, you have problems with saving money, or spending money, credit card, whatever you want to read a book on financial planning. Likewise, you have a bad habit, you will read a book on self-improvement. Now, all these books, if you get to the gist of all these books, there is a three-step simple process. That’s what these books talk about. Eventually, eventually, every author is a coach, eventually, every author has a seminar, every author has a workshop. Every author has an inner circle so the process is pretty simple. The book is lead gen. And then you step into a bigger, deeper association with them.

Three Steps to all this first and foremost in each of these books, each of these authors, they all say find an area to improve. So you already know which area you’re struggling in. Second, they will tell you eventually is to hire a mentor. And then they will tell you to create a plan and solve it to work with the mentor to solve, get to that goal get to that outcome, three steps. I did this the steps, the steps this process for years and years and years, for nearly 15 years. Like I know, I need to learn how to start a business I need to learn how to do this and how to do that. So I was waiting to hire a mentor. I kind of put a plan sometimes I had the plan ahead and I had it in my mind. And then I was looking for a mentor and I sometimes, you know you resonate with some people, sometimes some people are way more, you know, unreachable. You know, that’s the right word. You know, they’re too big for you. Sometimes you want to go with someone because you can create a connection with them all that so I went through all backed and only to realize that the plan I had in my mind is in a way unachievable because I’m not finding the right mentor. I spent a lot of time in that loop. Like going in looking for a mentor change the plan. I hear I listen to a mentor and they tell me, okay, do this differently or do this in a different way. And I like Okay, fine. So I’m going to change what I’m doing. Because I found a mentor. Or maybe this area doesn’t need improvement anymore. Because I’ve started to like, you know, I’m starting to live with this problem. So sometimes the prayer itself went away. Sometimes the need itself went away. While I was waiting for a mentor, sometimes my plan itself was incorrect, even though I had a good mentor. So I lived in this for a long time. Then suddenly what happened I was one day looking into all the investments I have done. And I was looking into some of the real estate portfolios that I was holding.

And I looked into all the houses that we were buying and some of the houses I bought, not because the schools were good, not because the property was located in the right city or any of that. I bought the properties because The property manager was good. So the property manager told me there is a house coming up do I want to buy? And I found his referral because I liked the property manager. So I ended up buying houses because of the property manager. So I took that idea. And I started looking into other aspects of life. Said, Okay, what if instead of trying to improve an area, instead of putting a plan together and then going after a mentor, or whatever that process is, why don’t I flip this whole narrative? Why don’t I look for mentors regardless of any areas of improvement, and I go invest in them. And I’ll tell you, my game completely shifted. With that one little epiphany, that one little idea. Every time I found a mentor who was willing to teach, I invested my time and money, mostly time. So I found a mentor, who was teaching a language that I had absolutely no interest in because he was a good teacher. I invested my time. I found a platform speaker or speaker who speaks from the stage had no interest to become a stage speaker from the stage. I ended up investing and becoming really good at it because he was a good mentor. I had no need for it. Then I found somebody who was incredible with the radio. Goodman’s incredible mentor. He was willing to do this for everybody who was stepping into this radio station. I stepped in, I invested in the mentor. My life changed.

You see, the message on today’s podcast is instead of trying to take your problem to a mentor, why not take a mentor’s opportunity into your life? When I flipped this narrative, I’ll tell you, I’ve been so happy because I get to meet incredible people who are incredible in what they do. I get to spend time with them. I get to learn. I’m a perpetual student. I never get to a state in my mind where I say, Okay, I solved a problem. I feel good about myself. I expect problems. In fact, every time I learn something new, I feel inadequate. But then because that inadequacy is not created by me. I love that inadequacy. I love improving it. I found an incredible mentor who was very good with videos, said okay, I’m willing to learn how I got into videos. I revamped my youtube channel you see, this is amazing when you really don’t need something but you spot talent. magic happens. So I want you to flip the narrative. Flip the narrative and go find good mentors, from whom you may not learn. Not because you want to solve a problem that you have and you expect them to solve it for you. But then because they have something to offer, and because you can afford to become a student and because you want to bring that greatness that they have into your life. I promise you, your life will change.

I appreciate you listening to this podcast. Stay with me. I’ll be back here again tomorrow. We can have an incredible conversation. Bye now.

Change This One Thing From Your Past

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Today on the podcast episode, I want to answer a question that I’ve seen multiple times being asked on different stages to different celebrities, even to contestants. And the question is, what is the one thing that you would like to change from your past given a chance? Given a chance, what is one thing that you would like to change about yourself from the past? You might have seen this question on the Miss Universe and on the Miss World stages. The correct answer to this question is, I want to change an event or a memory, or interaction or something you specifically answered the question is something that you would like to change? That’s the correct answer. I’ve seen people answer this question the correct way. But, from a sound perspective, from a winning the title perspective, this question has been answered this way. I don’t want to change anything about my past. Because things that happen to me right or wrong are responsible for me getting here. So if I change anything about my past, how can I get here? And even the title for answering this question this way. Now imagine me being a coach and somebody asking this question to me. And I trying to be like, impartial with the answer.

Okay. The truth is, the truth is, all of us want to change something about our past. The reason why we do what we do today is we don’t want our past to repeat in the future. So our tomorrow should not mimic yesterday. So we use our today to protect our tomorrow by not repeating what happened to us yesterday. That’s it. That’s the simple formula. That’s the simple rule. We are happily going to work because our past should not repeat things that happened to our past. In the past, we suffered from money, we struggled with money, we suffered from our jobs, we suffered from our bosses, whatever. We don’t want that to repeat in the future. So we go to work on happily even today, we start a business unhappier run a business and happily because, in the past, we struggle in a job, whatever this situation is, you get the idea. If you ask them the question, nobody asked me this question up till now Cindy, what do you want to change about your past? If you’re asking the question, one thing that I will change from my past is this. Given a chance, I will change the way I have used my time. I’ve started to respect time, all the recent years, obviously, but then I feel like the last 10 years my life has been accelerated in a whole different way. Given a chance, I would like to get better control of my time.

Given a chance, I would do the right things, I would apply my active time, my active time to doing the right things. I see people squander their time away. I’ve done multiple podcasts here where I talk about how to structure time, structuring time is useless. If you do not know what you want to accomplish, if you don’t have a definitive clear, and a finite goal to which you apply yourself, what’s the point of structuring time, goals or goals or goals that are useless if you are not taken them into your heart, into your mind, their wishes, you know, you wake up in the morning think I want to do this, this is what I want to accomplish. This is how I see myself, this is what’s gonna define me for the next 1015 40 long after I’m gone, this is going to be my legacy, if that is not what you feel that everything you do is all over the place. So there are many books on time management. There are many books on habits in those are the two things if you change, your entire destiny is going to change. I’ve repeated myself numerous times on this podcast. But I want to drive one point. You shouldn’t structure things to fit time. I have eight hours in a day. Let me do this and dissenters. That is like an elementary level of thinking. And the advanced level of thinking is I have to do these things.

Anyway, I’ve structured that into my timeline anyway. How can I do this in a better and a faster manner without compromising Anything, how can I steal time away from the activities that I’m doing? I’m burning 1000 calories in three hours? How can I burn 1000 calories in 15 minutes? In 20 minutes in half-hour? Is it possible? Yes. How can I? What kind of skill, talent mindset, all these? How can I acquire those to achieve that kind of perfection and performance? Now that I can do it, I can burn 15 100,000 calories in 15 minutes, which I was burning in an hour, I have 45 more minutes to do left now, what should I do with those 45 minutes? How do I apply? Where do I apply those 45 minutes? It’s a question that I wanted to ask, I want you to ask yourself today. This is something I want to change about my past. This is something that I want to change about my future, which is how can I use my time in a more productive, effective, meaningful manner? That’s even more important meaningfully? How can I use my time? This is a question that I want you to, I want you to ask tomorrow and be after. And every other day that you will be blessed with going forward from this point in time. Everything is time. Nothing exists without time. Even though time is a manmade construct.

It’s time on planet Earth. This is the time that we are in. But this is not the time on some other planet like Neptune or Uranus or Saturn or Jupiter, it’s a different time they’re in a different galaxy. That is a different time. In fact, they just found another galaxy, another galaxy where time is running backward. So amazing. It’s amazing. It’s very interesting. If you start scaling your thinking into the universe into the cosmos, it’s amazing how just how minuscule we are. Where we exist. We exist nowhere. A long time ago, now a long time ago. But when my mom passed away, right before at passing, like six or eight weeks before her passing. She was still talking. She said something said is it possible for you to remove some of my past memories? And I was, huh. Did I say why? Oh, you know, I’m laying down on this bird. I’m thinking about them. And I want to live a good life whatever little bit life I’m left with. So she is stage four cancer, lung cancer. Given seven months to live, she already has lived seven months. And the disease in the seventh month she’s having this conversation with Michelle is asking me to wipe out some memories from our past. I said I cannot. But she insists. She says you do this with your clients, right? Can’t you do it with me? Said Yeah. With my clients, I desensitize the events, the incorrect or wrong events that happened to them in the past. I do not erase memories. Nobody can erase memories, memories, or memories. So I can change the effect that memory has on you today. But I cannot take it out. She insists that I take it out. Or she says okay fine, desensitize them. I told her, Listen, in order for me to desensitize the memory. You need to relive that memory one more time. Why do you want to relive a memory? That was so hard on you and you have so many incorrect wrongs? Hard memories? Why relive this memory? Do you have whatever time left? Just forget and forgive everyone in your mind. Forgive and forget yourself and just live whatever is left. I didn’t say that to her, by the way.

I’m just saying that on the podcast here, but I didn’t say that to her right. I did tell her that we have to you have to relive that memory. But I said I asked her to forget and forgive. But I didn’t say that you have four weeks or eight weeks left or whatever. I didn’t say that to her. You get the idea. We all want to change our past. The truth is this. The only way you can change the past is not with money. Or with more success. More name more fame none or better job title. Better, dynamic, and relationships. Not true. The only ingredient that can change your past is the way you use your time. Starting now from today, I want you to use your time meaningfully for some meaningful outcomes. For some meaningful returns, it could be money, it could be some deep inner thing that you want to fulfill whatever it is, but attach meaning to your time, lead every minute meaningfully from starting this point forward.

That is the point of today’s podcast. I’m thankful that you are here with me till the end. Before I go any further. I want to stop here. I’ll catch up with you tomorrow. Stay tuned. Bye now.

How To Take Your Game To The Next Level

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

Today on the podcast episode, I want to talk with you on how you can take your game to the next level. Whatever level you want to get to, you are happy with what you’re doing. The results are predictable, you are getting the outcomes, but then you know, there is something else to you. And you know that you can play a much bigger game. What do you need to do? The source of this question is coming from a video that I saw on YouTube and there was a comment, somebody asked, kind of put a comment there asking the question to the author of the video saying, I am getting good results and good outcomes within my carrier. But then I know there is that next thing that I need to do. And they were asking a specific question. And I looked at all the answers, but I thought there was a different way it should be answered. So I thought I should take that question. And answer that because I know you are listening to the podcast, it means you are success minded individual. You listen to this. So it made sense that we can have a conversation here. So question is, how do you take your game to the next level? Let’s look into this. There are if you look at any thing that anybody is doing, there are three things that define the success, only three things.

One is skills. Sometimes skills are acquired, most of the skills are acquired. But occasionally you see people who have the gift, by birth by nature. So obviously they have the advantage, clearly, but then skills, predominantly skills, that’s the first part to success. So you can learn anything that you want to learn. If you spend enough number of hours, I think 10,000 hours, you really become good at it. This is what I have seen consistently with myself and people, you can pick up any skill doesn’t matter. But make sure that you give focus and time to the skill to skill is the first element of any level of success. The second part to this is your habits. I talked about this yesterday also on the podcast, which is our habits define our character. And our character innovation defines our destiny. So what habits are serving you, and what habits are not serving you, that needs to be addressed practically on a daily basis. At some point throughout the day, or at one point in every day, at one point, you need to ask a question, What habits Should I drop today? And what habit Should I start today? Or start tomorrow? Question You got to ask. So skills, number one.

Number two is habits. Now once these two things are in place, the next thing is mindset. Whatever education I’ve gone through, had the opportunity to talk to some incredible people. And I cherish even I look forward, I wake up in the morning, and I want to have an incredible conversation with someone who from whom I can learn. And guess what there are enough sources from where we can learn. And one thing that I want to capture is what is the mindset with which somebody is doing something, a game that they are playing that again, I can copy that I can learn from? Or I can mimic is the right word mimic? What is that game? What is the mindset that they have for the success that they are having today? So skills, habits, and mindset to string. If you look at what you have achieved till now, you know there is more, no matter which levels all of us can play at a whole different level, there’s always the next level. And there is never going to be a situation where we can say, Yeah, I did it. I got to the ultimate level, there isn’t the ultimate level. And you also heard me say this here also, and I, I keep repeating myself on this one, which is every time you see an ultra-performance in one area of life in someone that is happening because other areas are compromised. Not all but some.

If the outer game has to go up, the inner game has to be leveled up. There is no need to go and learn a new skill anymore. Maybe there is but it’s not like I made 100 million dollars today doing this business. Let me go start another business and make 200 million it doesn’t work like that. If you made $100 million today in one business, the chances are you could make $200 million in the same business. Now, what do you need to do in the same business to raise to your income to 200 million? Well, the answer to that is you have to play the same game but you don’t have more time. You probably have to have some better people and better leadership and better skill sets and all that you need to bring in But the bottom line is you, you know that game? Well? How do you go from 100 million to 200 million in the same business? Turns out, it is an inner game at that point.

So, the majority of the time you see someone who is losing a medal at the Olympics, come back four years later and gets a medal. It’s not that the individual was trained, or that the player was trained of that athlete was trained by any new methodology. It’s just that some things were changed, some tweaks were done. And most of these tweaks are in the mind, instead of the mind, not outside the forum did not change as much, there was no new technique that was introduced the same. In fact, there is a saying that the top 10 athletes who run the 100 meters, on a given day, anybody can win the medal. On that day, there is a gold medalist because the the the run happened that the competition happened on that day in that point in time, but given a different day, anybody could win, and all of them could win. See, it’s not about a new skill, new talent as much as it is about mindset. So I would focus on the inner game. And the inner game would be like, what are some of the beliefs with which I carry myself? What are some of the values with which I carry myself? Are my core beliefs in place are my core values in place? Am I doing enough to hold on to them and keep polishing them, and keep on strengthening them, while keeping my focus on the outer results, without compromise, a lot of times people withdraw, in order to come back and finish at a bigger level, you cannot withdraw in some games, you cannot withdraw, you can’t take off. You can’t say I will stop doing what I’m doing. So that I can go meditate for about three or four years and a comeback. And now now that I’ve meditated, well, I’m not well centered my mind, now I will go and generate the $200 million. So you’re letting go $100 million revenue or profits, and you are withdrawing for two, three years, and coming back to earn 200 million, it doesn’t make any sense. So if you want to get to the $200 million, you cannot withdraw, you have to be in the same zone.

Now, that means you got to meditate on the job. This is when the Zen Habits kick in. This is when you just start you go deep within your into yourself, the depth of your existence has to be explored, then the height of the success that you’re trying to create outside. This is the answer that I was looking to kind of type on that video, that question. But then there is more to this. As you’ll see, clearly there is more to this. But a few other pointers on this. A few other pointers, just because I said skills, habits, and mindset. That doesn’t mean those are the only three things. Those are three primary things for success. But there is more to it. So if you just do those three things, you are good. You are in the top 3% or top 2%. There is more to that. So there is the I wouldn’t simply stay only with those three and be done with I need to keep on exploring myself as much as I can. There are a few more things to this conversation. But here’s what I’m going to do.

I’m going to stop here. And I’m going to continue this conversation tomorrow on tomorrow’s podcast a little bit more and give you some other pointers on how to what are some of the other elements that you need to be careful of when you’re trying to raise your inner game. Okay. I’ll stop here today. Wherever you are, be safe, and we’ll talk tomorrow. Thank you
