3 Job Offers: How To Choose One?

I have three job offers to choose from. I’m confused, not sure which one to take. I’m reaching out to you in time. Hopefully, you can answer this question. It will help me make a decision that’s going to impact my future and my family. Wow. the profound question is rarely I get a question like this. This is incredible. Welcome, welcome back to success with Srini. Happy Tuesday morning to you. I feel privileged that I get problem questions. Very rarely do I get a choice question like this. This is empowering. This is amazing. I don’t know what job offer you have to pick. And because I don’t know all the details, so it’s very difficult for me to say, take up this one. don’t deal with the other two, I’m happy for you that you have. You’re in a situation like this, which is a good problem to have, at a time when companies are almost stopping hiring. So there is a hiring freeze across the board. I do not know where this economy is heading. People are saying many things. But we’ll come to know, once we get into Thanksgiving, Black Friday sales, the Christmas sales, all these things will tell us where we are heading. But for some reason, the companies have started to stop hiring, which is, which is so this is good.


This is incredible when you have three offers to choose from. I don’t know I think some time ago, I don’t know if that was last year, or maybe a couple of years ago on the podcast, there was a similar situation. So how to choose? I don’t know, I don’t know the answer to this question. But I will attempt to know what I know. So here is how I’m going to tell you the answer. I’m going to I’ll pretend that I’m going to wake up tomorrow morning in your shoes. And if I wake up in your shoes tomorrow, how do I deal with this? What is my mindset? Okay, so I will approach it from two different sides, one from the company side. And from my side. So I’m going to give you both my mindset are arguments, you decide which one you decide, and you apply yourself to it. So I’m going to go with a company that is solving a big problem for a lot of people. And with a lot of solutions, solving a lot of problems for a lot of people with a lot of solutions. So I want you to imagine a triangle, where on the very top is a problem. On the left corner of the triangle are people. And that right corner of the triangle is solutions. Odd maybe, maybe let’s redo this, imagine three circles, people problems, and solutions. Now imagine these three circles intersecting. So whichever company is solving a big problem in the market with the best solution and reaching more people, would fall into the intersection. Okay, in the intersect. So if the company is falling within the intersection of these three circles, then I’m going to pick that company and go with it. So ideally, one problem, one solution, and a lot of people but if the company is also having many solutions to many problems, for a lot of people, that’s also fine.


So this ensures that there is longevity, and there is long drawn-out success for the company. So if I go there, if I work there, if I build my career there, then I’ll be successful, they will be because they’re successful, and I’ll contribute towards their success. So that’s what I would think and this is what I recommend to people when they want to start a business. Now, that is how I sold the company side. Let’s talk about you. What are the things that you need to do? So that you succeed? Okay? So again, three circles. Imagine three circles or three corners of a triangle on the very top. I want you to if you’re writing it down, not listening. Or if you’re listening, you’re driving right now, imagine on the very top is uniqueness. Okay, the second corner of the triangle Is relevancy. And the third angle or corner of the triangle is urgency. So, where I’m going with this very simple, whatever you’re doing, or whatever you are about to do for this company, make sure that you’re unique. Make sure that you are unique. And make sure that that which you are going to be doing is also relevant not only for them but for you. So you get to learn, do things that make you feel good, you have a learning path, you have an experimentation path, and all those things, I don’t want to get into all the details, but you get the idea. So that is relevant for everyone. And there’s also an urgency for this. So I will position myself in a company that solves a lot of problems, that has solutions for the problems, and that it’s reaching a lot of people. And the way I will position myself in a role is a role that is unique, that’s relevant, and that has urgency. Now, you will never get that perfect balance between these two is between these two triangles, you cannot get a perfect balance, people compromise. Sometimes people get the role is unique, the role is irrelevant.


The role demands urgency or has urgency, the company wants that individual in that role. And it’s a crucial role in all that. So but if the company is weak, doesn’t have revenues is not profitable, or has some issues going on shaky management, whatever it is, or the customer base is not solid, or whatever that is, it’s very difficult to get this the right way. Just the right way, it’s very hard. But I want you to leave, I want you to understand the concept. I want to leave you with this concept. So you apply yourself and try to get there if you go by emotion. And it’s very difficult. People make these choices when they have three offers, you know that your confidence should be at the highest level right now. And what people do is, oh, this, this company is paying a lot of money. So I’m going to go with this. And next time around, if something happens to this complaint, we’ll come back to the market and I’m going to take up something else. The truth is, this is a job.


This question is about a job. And the job market. It’s a market that decides, you know, how much you get paid and what role you get and all that. So what you have to demonstrate is true tomorrow. And tomorrow, it may demand a whole different level of struggle. Yeah, you may get a better job and more money. And I wish you that. But understand that tomorrow, or six months when I tomorrow, by tomorrow, I mean six months or a year down the road. If you take if you look for a job because you’re unhappy in this role, then you may not have three offers to choose from. That’s the point. I hope I answered your question. If I did, do let me know.
