2023 Life Changes - 9 Things I'm Going To Do Differently

2023 Life Changes – 9 Things I’m Going To Do Differently

Here is the complete transcript of the podcast

I’m going to start the podcast today with a disclaimer. And the disclaimer is that if you are a regular listener of this podcast, then today’s podcast episode is something that is not new. This is a repeat podcast, even though I’m recording this fresh. So there are discussions happening via email via text messages about some of my recent podcast episodes where I was talking about the new year coming up 2023 is just six weeks away less than six weeks away. So we are entering a new year. And I talked about some goals set I talked about things that need to happen. Now, if they have not yet happened this year, so you had some goals for this year, but you did not accomplish them. Time is running out, you need to act now. And I had talked about it multiple times across multiple episodes.

But today, I want to share with you something that I am doing pretty aggressively leading into the next year, the new year. This is something that is not mine. This is something that I read somewhere I took notes. So I claim absolutely no credibility or rather claim on this. That’s the right word claim on this. But I do claim that I have implemented this multiple times over the years. And I’ve gotten some success, even though I should have gotten much more. Hence, I am going even harder on this like even giving more to this, this principle. So if I have to sum up the entire life, all success across all areas of life has to sum it up. These nine things are necessary for anyone. So you are a school student listen to this, you are a homemaker, you are a professional, you are a retiree, you are trying to figure out what you want to do with your life, doesn’t matter where you are, these nine things are going to be applicable to you. And these nine things need to be worked on. I’m working on it. As I said, I tried this several years ago, nearly 14 years ago. And I kept on improving one was improving the other was kind of going out of my hands. So for 2023, I’m committing myself even more by giving more time to this by giving more effort to this. So here is what I’m doing.

Okay, so let’s get into this number one. Sleep well. There are chances that you are not sleeping well. Nine out of 10 people I talked to do not sleep well. Sleep is the only single biggest tweak that you can make that can completely change outcomes across the board. Literally, sleep. Okay, how long do you have to sleep, how deep do you have to sleep? I’ve done numerous podcast episodes here. There are, I mean interviews. Literally, I’ve spoken to experts on the topic of sleep, and I have shared how sleep can be manipulated using hypnosis. I mean, there’s a lot of content here, at least on this podcast. And of course, there are incredible other podcasts by other people who talk about sleep, I’m going to be working on improving my sleep. So starting in 2023, I’m going to be changing my bedroom, I’m changing the mattress, and I’m going to get this new device that controls the temperature of the bed called bed Jack. I’ve been getting, I’m seeing a lot of reviews, and people are talking about it online. So I decided to get a back jet to improve the quality of my sleep. I’m going to do that. So that’s my commitment to myself. So sleep fell. That’s the point, figure out whatever you have to do on your site.

The second one is you got to hold your temper, no matter how, how much you can control your anger. You can do better. And I have lately seen myself even though I’ve been working on my temper for a long time. Lately, seeing that there are some situations that are some circumstances if I encountered them, or I find myself in those situations and circumstances. I tend to lose my temper. So I’m working on it. That’s a commitment I’m making for myself. In 2023 Not I don’t need to wait for that I’m working on it now. third on the list is to lead a life where you have no worries. Somehow you get there, do whatever you have to do. But get yourself to a position where there are no worries. Because its energy, its effort. It’s an expense. The more you think about something that is not happening, the chances are nine out of your 10 worries are not going to happen anyway. So why think about them? Why expense yourself for them? The next one, learn to laugh. I’m learning to laugh. I don’t. But I’m, I don’t laugh enough. But I’m learning to laugh. I’m trying to bring more humor into my conversations. I’m relearning some aspects of humor. Humor is a learnable skill. By the way, not some people are born with it. But you can learn to really understand timing, understand rhythm, have a conversation, inject yourself and say certain things in a way that you make other people laugh in the process you also love. The next one is eliminating harmful habits. If I take anybody who claims to have absolutely no harmful habits, they say that they have full control over their habits. If I spent 24 hours with them, I’ll find something in them, that is invisible to them, but visible to me.

So there are things that you are doing that are invisible to you but are visible to others. So your job is to ask them, Hey, what is that I’m not able to see that you can see and ask for their feedback and their help to take out those self-debilitating or disturbing habits, harmful habits, eliminate them, not just identify them. So once you identify what they are, you got to really put a plan and go after them, kind of take them out from your system, then the next one is sensible eating, I have not been as sensible with my diet lately, which I want to change, I want to bring in more meaning more structure, more understanding more involvement, and removing my unconscious mind and thinking about food consciously. Most people don’t. And I also do not, but I’m changing that. Going into 2023 Exercise has been a challenge. And I was very fit at the beginning of this year. And slowly, it went away. Starting from the middle of this year, I’m going back and working out even more getting back my shape, my posture, my composure, and all that. So exercise. That’s the next one, followed by love people. love people. The lesson, no matter how much you love, you can do more. And there is no success without loving people.

You can seclude yourself, you can make yourself separate from everybody. But you can’t you neither will be happy nor you will create anything, and you will not have joy and fulfillment. And all that which we crave for as humans we crave for. So because we have to live with people, why should we spend time finding faults in them? Because nobody is perfect anyway. And we don’t we are not given any superpower to judge people. Because we can’t judge and we can’t fix what’s the point of criticizing? So if I can’t criticize, let’s say, then this is the only option that’s left is to love them. So one of my is funny, I say this, but one of my goals for 2023 is to love people. You know, listen, either you have empathy or you don’t have empathy. I mean, either you love you don’t love that said, you know, it’s very difficult to do because I think I have it. I’m looking to expand it. That’s it. Okay, I think I do love people. So because I think I know I do, I’m gonna expand I’m gonna go deep, deeper into it. But how to explain this to somebody who hates people? It’s I don’t know, it’s very hard to explain this to them. The next one on the list is learning to play.

Learn to play. So don’t take pole positions. People take positions in situations and in different aspects of life. Now, this is what it is. And this is how I see this. This is where I stand this is how it’s going to be it’s my way or highway don’t become the goalpost. I become the player. And don’t pick up the ball, either you got a ball that will be kicked around. To become the player and learn to play the game by the rules. And you’ll be healthy, you’d be a giant. And you’ll enjoy it. So learn to play, okay, in anything in life, just not only in games but in any aspect, of life will just learn to play. So these nine things are dominant in my mind. And these nine things are not new. I talked about them multiple times on this podcast. And these nine things are not from me, this is from a book, I don’t know which book but I took notes. I’m simply reading those notes, the set, I know it’s going to be helpful to you. I know. Somebody who will listen, or who is listening to this podcast for the very first time will still benefit from this. I know that.

So these are the things I had on my mind. And that brings us to the conclusion of today’s podcast episode. I hope you like this. If you do, do me a favor, write me a review, read the podcast, and share it with a friend or a family member. And go start your Monday in a great way. It’s a new week, one of those six weeks that are left for us in 2022. So go make the best of it. And I’m going to be with you as early as tomorrow. Stay tuned. Bye now.
