Happy Friday morning to you. Welcome back to Success with Srini. So we can, I’m going to keep today’s podcast to the point precise and short. Today we’re talking about some success hindering habits that are surprisingly common, yet insanely ingrained into our existence, preventing us from attaining any level of success that we are in pursuit of.
They’re so common, you will be amazed if I start telling you what these are, we will be amazed how common these are. And as you start hearing me say this, I want you to assess yourself and give some thought. And you will start to see that you are guilty already. Okay, these habits you are fostering within you? I am. That’s why I’m saying this.
The first one is self-doubt. It’s a big one. The worst thing that could happen to any performer is they suddenly stop and question their self-worth. I’ve seen this happen to players. I’ve seen this happen to big performance music, musicians, I mean, writers have seen this across the board. You see them happening, you see them successful, and suddenly something happens to them, and they’re gone. They’re gone in their early 20s, early 30s. They have a huge career ahead of them. And usually nothing, nothing there. It’s just that they question who they are, and they’re dropped off. Carriers vanished. I’ve seen this happen to coaches, as mentors, coaches, trainers, somewhere deep within the have this thing where, what if everything that I’m doing, has no substance. Like I’m doing this for the sake of doing it, the imposter syndrome kicks in all the time. I suffered from imposter syndrome very early on. I keep my senses very aware what if it kicks in? It could it does. See, to overcome this, you got to believe that everything that is happening to you is because you’re capable of making it happen. Everything that’s happened to you is because of your capacity, your capability. And that everything that you have is because you paid for it through blood, sweat, tears, you worked for it. So you deserve everything that you have every outcome you have, is because you deserve.
The next one is procrastination. This is a big one. We all procrastinate. No matter how many seminars I do, how many workshops I do, it happens, it happens. It’s the mind, it happens you I wake up and I say I want to do this today. And this is my plan. This is my schedule. I want to do this. But then something interferes in the mindset, oh, I need to I need to do a few other things before I do this. Some other opportunity shows up and the shiny object, then I need to go after that one. And I stopped doing what I’m doing happens to me all the time. Sometimes my own mindset wherein I say, maybe I don’t have the information, maybe I need to read a little bit more or talk to a few people before I do. And then all this thinking, all these interferences. Essentially I’m procrastinating I’m not doing the thing that matters the most. The most important thing is the most important thing. The thing that we all have to do is the most important thing on a given day and rest can be done. But the most important thing has to be done. The most important thing is not to forget the most important thing. Procrastination is a big hindrance to success.
And then the disorganization and how many times you have set goals for yourself, you know you need to do them you know you have them prioritized and you wake up in the morning. Just because you know you woke up 10 minutes late now you’re behind on a few other things and then you don’t know what happened to the whole day. And next thing you know, you didn’t work on anything. Goals are attainable, they were set by you. Because there is no real plan or you had a misplaced plan. You end up missing them, you end up missing out. So disorganization is a big one.
And then the last one is a focus. Lost Focus. Focus. I don’t know I mean, I have read most of the books that I studied very early on in my journey to understand self-improvement was on focus. The book that changed my life is the power of focus. By Mark Victor Hansen. Jack Canfield and the less you get incredible book changed my life. It’s very simple. If you don’t become serious about what you want to achieve. You won’t make it your priority. Then it’s the last game. Whatever thing you are really good at. The reason why you’re good at something is that you gave it a priority you gave it focus, you gave it time you gave it effort. And the reason why other things are not happening in your life is that you did not give the same level of time focus energy to other things. So if you shift your focus, success happens. As simple as that. So lost focus is a big one. So I don’t know which way to arrange all this. Should I take focus first, or should I take disorganization first? Or should I take procrastination first, self-doubt, all these things, each one of them is capable of completely derailing you from where you are heading. All of them in some proportion could derail you, or a combination of any of two or more could derail you. The question is this. All you have to do is adopt an attitude for success.
That’s the key message in all this regard to adopting an attitude for success. When you do this, you implicitly throw away the negative habits that hinder your journey to success. I hope that this podcast is helpful if I say any more than what I just said. I think I’m I’m repeating myself. I’m going to stop here you go. Enjoy your weekend. And I’ll be here tomorrow morning with another podcast episode. That’s all for now. Take care. Bye.
