As you read this post..I am assuming you know the over all concept of feeder sites. Some call them Sale page sites, some refer to them as Micro sites, mini sites. I refer to them as Feeder sites because they feed into my main site.
A quick lesson on Feeder sites.
If you have a main site in place, instead of getting all the traffic to that site..try creating a ton of small sites around the main site and drive the traffic to the main site. This concept existed for a long time in the corporate marketing world but John Reese brought this to the forefront of entrepreneurial internet marketing…
With this you get better SEO ranking for your main site the catch is…lay these feeder sites across multiple hosting providers , with this you can disguise the incoming link as if its coming from a completely different but a relevent site, and google loves it.
To demonstrate this example. Here are my four sites in real estate niche that feed into my main authority site
- Localize your feedersites, if you are delivering soft products and have an international reach this is a must. for an example see the top right corner of this page..you will see the icon which can covert this page to any language.
- Profile your database and see if you have any subscribers with physical addresses, fax and phone numbers but no email addresses if you do..send physical mail and ask them to visit the feeder site which could be a name squeeze page with a bonus.
- Every Feedersite should have “refer this site to a friend” many marketers including do this with our authority sites but its very important to have this on Feedersites
- Due to some changes in google policies and introduction of quality enforcing practices such as google slap and overall evolution of social media marketing many marketers are driving traffic to these feeder sites to protect themselves from getting bannned or loose rankings of the main authority site by top search engines. Use your feedersites beyond selling, name squeezing and link exchanges.
- Periodically change the design of the feedersite to gauge the response of your visitors. Design plays a significant role your website success
Remember you do not need 100’s of feedersite. Every 10 sites you start 8 will fail. So start with 10 to begin with and go from there and have a strategy to retire the ones that are not working.
