When a Campaign fails ..do we look for our mistakes and work even more harder on promoting more or we develop a conflicting impulse and avoid facing the truth? In most cases marketers unsoncisuly rationlize their failuers to…

In our day to day busines life its very possible that we show some degreee of dissapointment towards others. But most of the times we get angry when someone does the same to us. Again a human tendency, then If this is coming from someone whom we cannot challenge or refute..we find others around us to take out that anger out on instantly, in most situations our family members and friends.
This behavior is known as “Displacement” where in a person tranfers emotion to another person who has no connection to the problem, people or circumstance in the first place.
A good self esteem is often times a challenge with many small business owners at a time when the going in not good.
We Internet marketers have too much on our plate at any given time. Too many websites to develop, too many projects to launch. Tight deadlines and sleepless nights. Given all that we juggle its very common that we forget common things such as mailing letters, paying bills or even picking up our kids from day care. When questioned often times we blame this behavior of ours on others. When my wife questions me on some important things that I forgot to do during the day, I instantly blame it on her or some other thing that stopped me from doing it. I unconsciously want to escape to save my self-esteem.
This act is another variation of the defense mechanism called “Projection”. An unconscious process in which one attributes his faults or undesirable thoughts to others to safe guard his self-esteem.
One of the other common defense mechanisms exhibited by aspring marketers is called “Compensation” in which they try to make up for an inferiority by striving to gain recognition. Paying established marketers huge amount of money with an underlying motive of doing joint venuters with them, driving expensive cars to attract friends and customers( by posting pictures on sales pages) etc are some common behaviors.
