Over the last 6 months or so I had been getting many emails from my customers and subscribers about how challenged they are with getting their businesses up and running.
How they are frustrated with all the promises that the workshops, seminars and home study courses have made.
How they have been sold into all kinds of opportunities without any results…
Unfortunately this is the nature of the business we are in…where quality is a rare commodity…
In response…last month I launched my blog which has become one of the top subscribed blogs on business building, Entrepreneurship etc
I am sharing some powerful strategies related to internet marketing, wealth building, offline marketing, real estate investing etc there…
For sometime I had been thinking about hosting a workshop on Business building (online + offline) but had been clueless on how to bring value.. as there are many out there.
I wanted myself to be different from the rest of the crowd. Hence I developed my criteria and started attending quality events across the country…
As I got so bored with them that I wrote an article on my blog titled
“Attending Too Many Seminars? information overload can impede your success”
I became selective overtime and developed a Criteria that every event has to meet before I decided to invest in it.
So here is my criteria..
??? It has to be a seminar that is fully focused on building no hype no nonsense businesses online…
??? It has to show me step-by-step on how to find a niche, how to evaluate a niche and how to build a product in that niche?
??? It has transform my hidden skills and talents into products and services and show me how I can start selling them online or offline for profits?
??? It has to be experiences driven and mastermind oriented.
??? The event should not be a Pitch Fest. Where a bunch of SHARKS from the stage will chew away everyones money.
??? It should give me NEW business ideas, and also enough to help increase the revenue of my existing business.
??? Traffic to my website is key. I would prefer to learn more about latest traffic generation techniques
??? Not only get me traffic, but show me and teach me what I should focus on to get conversions.
??? I have to make enough quality connections at the workshop so that everyone I meet will Joint Venture with me, in promoting my products and services to his or her list
??? The event has to be small enough so that I can meet and get to know everyone without exchanging business cards if need be..
Well!, I have to tell you, there are not that many events that do this in the market
today…
So I have decided to create an event on the lines of what I have described above.
Not sure, if this is something you will like or looking for something like this?
So I need your help.

Sounds like a great idea IF you really do what you say. And it must be affordable. So I guess I fall into your answer 3.
Sounds nice, but…
I paid over $3000 to Robert Allen, received no help from his help desk and made zero. Went to another real estate guru in Fort Lauderdale, Gave him $4000, he turned down every deal I found over the next 5 months, made zero. He later told me in order to really get the secret and guarantee to real estate I would need to give him $20,000 for another week long workshop. Just went to another seminar with credit cards online. At least got it up and running with the promises of $1200 for every $150 of advertising I spent (after giving him $5000 for the website of course). I set it up on 5 different search engines, have received over 2000 hits in the first month and got really excited about that. I have spent over $1000 for advertising and guess what? I actually made some money on this one! So far I have made $138. So I ask myself, what am I doing wrong? I did everything that all these people told me. I have wrote and asked these folks if I can come to their headquarters for some help and support. No response. Of course, these people are all multi-millionaires and promise that all your dreams can come true too. I am about out of investment money now, so as you can imagine, I am quite disappointed in myself that I listened to and believed in these people and that I didn’t put this money to work for me in a mutual fund or something more sensible. I am getting older though and was worried about retirement. It seems these folks actually can sleep at night with no problems because they can’t see what they do to people. It doesn’t make sense to me either because they all swear that they only make money when I make money. If that’s the case, why won’t they help me when I run into problems and have questions I need answered to be able to move forward? I think they are all liars at this point and I am just another stupid sucker.
Frustrated? I am beyond frustrated! I am completely and utterly angry!
I would like to believe in you, but I am at a crossroads. You would have to prove it to me before I pay you any kind of money. That would be the only thing that would seem fair to me at this point.

I am very interested in investing in the real estate products. If you can show me the reality, I will be more thusiastic.
I felt the same as Sandi. You paid all these money and when you need help, they want you to pay more. I have bought all these materials and now they are just liked junk piling up my house. I have tried very hard what they told us to do. Yet has no result. When you ask for help, more money required. There are no ends to it.

First of all, thanks for taking time and responding to my email.
I lost over $100,000 dollars before I made my first $1 in this business. All along I thought I lost it, but I can tell you…. Results are gaurantted if you persist, please do not think I am asking you to spend more money, attend more seminars, come to my seminar etc. All I am trying to say is if you work incermentally on what you have already learnt, you will see tremendous success. This is true with any business or anything you do in life.
The only reason we go to seminars or workshops is to cut down time factor and learn from other’s proven methods..hence eliminating or reducing the chances of mistakes…which could cost heavily otherwise.
When Thomas Edison was told how he failed 10,000 times before he could make the electric bulb work. He was quickily said “Well I figured out 10,000 ways how an electric bulb cannot be made”
I am not endorsing anyone, but cetainly without the Guru’s whom you spent your money with in the first place.. You would not have gotten closer to what you have now.
Making $138 online..do not undermine that. You are way ahead of the rest 98% crowd. You have your fundemantals covered.
The problem is, you need to scale it up in such a way that your return on investment is high. In other words..your cashflow will offset your cost for dirving traffic.
Internet or any business for that matter should not be treated as a hobby.
I am not making any promises to you that you will make a million dollars coming to my seminar etc. Also I am not selling HOPE … I am selling WORK. You have to work and work very hard to get success. I can cut your time factor down significantly by sharing some strategies, tips and techniques, that have worked for me. But rest is all hard work for you.
Your post has given me a different angle, on how to position my workshop.
How about I restrict the event to 5 or 10 people. They come in with their laptops to the workshop. We all will pick a business from scratch and then build it step-by-step. Then one person from the crowd will get to own the business.
Just a thought I guess.

I haven’t been able to come out to a seminar just yet but trust that I look forward to being among those focused individuals that do attend and take back the wealth of information and strategies that you offer all the time.
I feel bad that so many people are taken when they are honestly trying to build something with what they have, but maybe if they give you a chance to show them that there are still a few REAL mentors out here, then they will prosper more than they ever imagined. If i’m not mistaken the last time I wrote was when your child was ill from the inner ear propblem. I hope all is well. I have not spent a lt of money on seminars because I refuse to. I feel like I got quality training and I have a mentors who have been very helpful. I recieved plenty of study material to use at home and currently i’m working my business full time. I get frustrated, because I thought that I would have closed my first deal by now (Its been 8 months now), but how many businesses see a profit in the first year? That is what I tell myself to keep going. The instructors in this seminar and others make it sound to easy, like you don’t have to work that hard. I actually confront one investor that was giving, excuse me selling his investment strategies on that fact. I asked ” Why do you guys always leave out the part about working. This is a business these forclosures ect. don’t just fall in your lap, you have to spend time finding them, Right?” He laughed it off and said ” well I guess you do have to put in some work.” I am glad that you incuded the WORK part in there cause it ain’t magic. There really are only so many ways to structure a deal to invest in real estate. I would’t mind attending your seminar seeing as you are realistic in your approach. Keeping it small is a good idea too. Most of the people I met at the training have quit or never started. I would like to be with like minded business oriented people who want to build a business or have already started their businesses and are trying to make it like me. I want to see my business grow. If its geared inthat direction and it will be in the D.C. metro area count me in!

I use Membergate on two of my sites. I personally recommend it. My good friend Ryan Lee uses membergate on 10+ sites, I think. He runs a zillion membership sites. God know how many :)-
Its a very good platform.
If you are short on money, try amember and see if that works. Validate your niche before getting into memberhsip site business( it may not be for everyone after all, despite of my best efforts I am still struggling). When you get in get in with the right platform.
I have stayed so long with this, because of the huge investments I have made into these. I think more money means more commitment.
