Most recently one of my subscribers emailed me with this question. My answer to him was Don’t Participate
Since last few days I was pondering on how the answer to this question can be made generic, so that all the visitors to this blog can resonate with it. I have small business owners, internet marketers and first time bloggers visit this site on a frequent basis. So my intent was to make the answer very generic.
Here it is..Let me know you thoughts and comments..
If you are an online marketer ..then continue to make offers
By offers I mean you creating your own products or promoting affiliate products. When you are creating your own products make sure your products are value driven and are easy to create so that you do not spend a lot a lot of time in the process.
If you cannot create your products then focus on affiliate products(Start With Clickbank) do not promote expensive products because they pay you a higher commission. Promote those products that you believe can bring true value to your customers( Better if you buy and try them yourself in the fist place).
If you are a small business owner or you have an off-line business
My suggestion to you: call your existing customers(Seth Godin recently made a 4 line post on his blog about this) and try selling to them.
The cost of acquiring new customers is extremely high, Why not sell to existing customers. At the end they may say NO and at the end it might have cost you some time and a phone call. But it could very well bring some business.
If you do not have a business and all you have is a day job
Continue to work harder. Try to preserve the cash flow from this job. In a bad economy cash flow is extremely important .If you have two or three extra hours in a day outside of your job, invest that in building a business in parallel.
Do not spend a lot of capital in building your parallel business. Invest more of your time than money. This is the primary reason I insist upon people to explore online businesses. Starting an running an internet business is very simple, but if you start the wrong way you could quickly spend a lot of money. So be careful.
Finally, if you have a job or a business in place already.
Create superior products or solutions that can rescue people from their pain or misery. The key to creating superior products is the following:
??? You have to believe in what you’re selling you have to stand behind your product.
??? Just creating something based on ideas is not enough. Show Proof! And sell on merits
??? You have to get your hands dirty if your product fails to deliver.
??? Ensure Success No matter what.
