Hi Srini,
This is the first time I am visiting your site. I find the contents posted are very educative and helpful. The tips in this video are really great. Wish you a very successful and prosperous new year.
First of all I’d like to wish you and your family a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!!!
I am relatively new to online marketing. But in that short timeframe I don’t think I’ve run across anyone who seems as honest, forthright and truly caring, as you seem to be.
I don’t know you personally, but I do hope to meet you one day.
If you are ever in NYC (Queens to be specific) please send me an email as I would really enjoy meeting you.
Also, could you, when time permits, take a look at my blog and tell me what you think….. know you’ll be honst, maybe even brutally honest………but thats still better than BS.
To you success,
Frank

Hi Frank,
Appreciate you stopping by. I will certainly call on your when I visit New York( Which I have never visited in my life, shame on me). I visted your blog. Here is what I need to know before I give you my feedback.
Is this your only blog? or one among many.
I am against the idea of a “make money online” blog. There is a lot of competition there. Over 95% people are giving out the same information, while the top 5% are making money. I think you cannot make substantial amount of money from a “make money online” blog now. People who started first had early beginning advantages.
Now I do have a make money online blog of my own, but it is one among many. I don’t care if I make any money from it. Its there because I am an online marketer and I have some value to share with my readers.
If this is your first blog, you are doing good. The bait is good, The theme is good, content is little salesy but you can weave good content as you go along. I would recommend you start branching into other areas and niches ASAP, while keeping this blog alive.
If you want me to be more critical, I can do so in an email or over phone, but not on a public forum like this
This is my first time visiting your site, as well. And I agree with Raju that it is interesting and informative, so I signed-on.
Your “Goals for 2009” are good to see, and inspiring. You have motivated me to start a video blog about investment real estate, my area of professional expertise. And I would like to learn HOW you did the “slide-effects” for your 2009 Goals presentation.
As a note regarding your “Tips”, I recommend that you (everyone) also maintain ONE (1) “personal” use credit card (in your name) as this is necessary to maintain a good credit score (720+). (I have ONE (1) credit card in my business (corp.) as you recommend, and this is establishing a credit rating for my corp. and line of credit, which is nice to have separately within one’s corp. (business or investment entity).
On a related note, I agree that you should meticulously track your spending, however, I dissagree with “paying cash” and NOT using “checks” for all personal items. Rather, I recommend you advise the use of a “Debit Card” tied to your personal checking account for all purchases and expense items, which then can be digitally tracked in an online bank statement and downloaded into Quicken or Quickbooks. This keeps a record of each (all) purchases for each account (personal, business, investment, etc.) and serves the dual-purpose of “meticulous tracking” of your expeditures. Using a “debit card” is essentially the same as “paying cash” as you must have the funds in the bank account the debit card draws againts.
Where I agree with you regarding “cash” purchases are the myriad little things, such as popcorn at the movies, or a cup of coffee. However, IF you have are a big coffee or latte drinker, so as to track such an expense, I recommend that you get a Starbucks or Peets card and fill it up as needed by debiting your personal bank card.
All the best in 2009!
🙂

Until most recently I was delivering a course of “Using Credit Lines to Buy cash flowing businesses” on which i partnered with another expert. We paused to gauge where the market is headed and will re-launch it soon. Your point on personal credit is right on spot, just the other day I got a 20k LOC approved. I have pushed the limits on usage of credit in all ways acoross all my businesses.
Here are some of my observations…the urge to spend more is better controlled when handling cash. Money has to be invisible when you are saving but visible when you are spending. I am against the idea of checks because most people have overdraft protection enabled through credit cards, which could potentially lead to uncontrolled spending.
My resolution for 2005 was I will not buy anything above $100 that has no educational value for myself. I have successfully lived up to it for three years straight. In July 2008 I was planning to get a 55K BMW instead I bought a 1996 used corolla from a friend for $2500. The difference went into my business and into buying some properties.
While carrying cash is risky and sometimes inconvenient, I have found the process has more self accountability.
The Latte Factor: I have stopped driking Coffee at starbucks with an exception that when I meet people on business there I buy for them. I will never walk into Starbucks to buy a coffee for my own alone.
Happy New Year! Great job getting your goals down in writing. You even put them on video. That’s an awesome idea. You have inspired me. I know I need to write down my goals but I still haven’t done it for the new year yet.
Srini, I would like to be one of the 50 people you help to attain their financial goals. Currently I own the domain name MOTIVATEDSELLERS.COM and I would like to use it to help others reach their financial goals in real estate.
