Some may consider this strategy for search engine optimization to fall into the category of the bizarre. And, yes, there will be a number of critics of this concept who will say that it is a burdensome method of search engine optimization.
Well, that is their right and they do not have to go about taking part in it. But, there will also be a few people out there who may try and take part in it and discover it truly does have much merit.
This is because this is the method of search engine optimization that pays YOU to optimize. That is correct, instead of having to pay a service to perform search engine optimization you can actually do it yourself while also making a few extra dollars.
This process involves leaving links on message boards and forums. Keep in mind, every time a link to a website is placed on the internet it counts as a vote for your site.
The more links that are present the higher your website will rank in the search engines. These links can appear anywhere and message boards and forums are a prime (and easy) location to place links.
The process for creating the links is fairly simple: you either create a link in the body of the message or you leave a link in the signature. (There is a link icon on most message boards that can automatically create the link for you) So, whenever you leave a message on a message board you simply add a link to your site.
This will build search engine traffic as well as direct traffic from the links. Obviously, this could serve as a reliable marketing strategy for your website, but off late an increasing number of sites are prohibiting back links with “NoFollow” tags. This has become very common with blogs.
But how do you earn money for this process?
Easy: there are a number of “pay to post” sites that offer compensation for posting on message boards. When a board is new it will have a sparse number of posts and this is just not aesthetically pleasing. So, paying people to post is a great way to kick-start the message board.
While you won’t get rich with any pay to post sites (you’d probably make $25 – $50 a week) you can use the opportunity to leave links all over the internet through your paid message board posting.
Clearly, this is a better option than shelling out money to search engine services that will perform the exact job that you are doing yourself!
