Just about in the last 3 days I had over 5 people ask me on how to Price an Information Product On Internet, such as E-Book, CD etc. There are a tons of resources that will guide on how to create an information products, how to leverage video, how to integrate shopping carts to order pages, one time offers to Squeeze pages etc. But when it comes to pricing
Step #1: Ask yourself at what price will you buy the product if the same product is offered to you by someone else?
Step #2: Research the internet and see who else is selling the product and what price are they selling it at?
Step #3: What kind of Affiliate commission are they offering?
Once you have that information come up with about 3 or 5 price points that the market is conditioned to pay.
Let??™s say you are having a series of 12 teles-eminar interviews you want to sell? Here are a series of price points that the market is conditioned to see (may be buy) on the internet.
FREE, $1, $27, $47, $97, $147, $167, $197, $297
With an excellent copy you can separate the indirect benefits from the price and sell the same product for a very high price. I have seen people sell the same for as high as $497 and beyond.
Given that is a big range like this. How can you decide which price point resonates well with your market?
Here are three steps
Step #1: Randomly pick the two price points. In the above range from FREE to $297
Step #2: Setup two identical pages with the same sales letter but different prices (both you selected from Step #1)
Step #3: Drive Traffic to both the pages and perform a (A/B Split test)
Once you reach a decent sample size with the traffic and you have some sales? Just pick the one that converted well and go from there
There is more to this??¦
Just because you have a few sales for $67 doesn??™t mean that you should discard $47. Or because you have some sales for $47 doesn??™t mean that $67 is a high price either. Make sure you have driven enough traffic to the sales page, tracked where the traffic came from etc before going one-way or the other.
