Pause for a second and think! Are you truly bringing any value to your customers?

In 1997 while? on a trip to disney land and after a long exhausting day? we stopped by at a restaurant for dinner.?  Inside the resturant, the first thing that drew my attention was a big board on the wall with a quote by Mahatma Gandhi..

A customer is the most important visitor on our premises, he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.?  Mahatma Gandhi

Fast Forward..2005

I started my website called Investorfortune.com? where I frequently conducted teleseminars with real estate gurus, investors and so called movers & shakers of the Real estate industry.

Real Estate was a hot and happening thing then and I was successful with what I was
doing, it was my passion and I thought well!..Why not make some money with this
after all?

In fact I did both buying and selling houses as well as…by selling home study courses via teleseminars.

Its a great business selling affiliate products. And that too when the price point is high you make a fat affiliate commission. Sometimes as high as 50%.

While the money was great, All along I struggled with my conscience

Am I bringing any TRUE? value to my buyers?

Luckily very early I made a point that I will test every home study course before
selling on my website.

I was not that unique with my business model. My website (Home study courses with
tele-seminars) was one among 20,000 sites doing the same exact thing… Selling Home
Study courses thru teleseminars.

Like every marketing tool wears out over a period of time, Tele-seminars as a sales
tool? started ? becoming less effective.

Everyone everywhere started doing teleseminars and while the registrations to
teleseminars continued to be high the attendance dropped significantly.

In one instance I had over 175 people signup?  but just two people showed up on the actual
live call.

In 2006 I made a conscious decision to shy away from this marketing model but continued to tweak a few things here and there…for example, I insisted on my guests not to speak from a script. I told them I will do a lot of research upfront and come up with
questions and ask them impromptu.

It was good, but as the perceived value of FREE teleseminars plummeted all my efforts
to bring value went down the drain.

I practically stopped my teleseminars in July 2006 and started on a massive soul
searching… With one defined goal.

…how can I be unique and at the same time bring value to all my fellow real estate
entrepreneurs?

A few days ago… I re-launched Investorfortune.com as a content rich member
only resource filled with amazing marketing, investing, promotional and wealth building
educational tips, tricks and strategies.

After a long spell of due diligence and hard thinking I finally believe I am doing
something that is very radical, unique & different…

With all the above,?  I believe I have found a renewed niche. Something I can be proud
off, something that brings value to my customers and above all I can sleep well in
the night…

Needless to say. The journey is not yet over. There is a lot of work that needs to
be done. More content has to be added to the portal. more value has to be created for the
existing and new members.
